Heading to NJ from White Plains, here is a cruise over the Tappan Zee Bridge. New York State Thruway and a major bridge over the mighty Hudson River. Now I need to see my dentist.
Really pretty bridge at night. Especially when it's 3:30 AM, and you have time to really look at it and not have to worry about the traffic lol. Roughly the halfway point between my Boston, MA and Reading, PA night trips. Nothing like empty roads in the middle of the night listening to your favorite tunes.
in response to the others...you guys are so right..driving at 2-3 in the morning theres no cars...its awesome...thanks for putting up the video...im in germany on exchange and this was nice to see...(1.5 more months here out of 3 hehe)
i drive across the bridge from tarrytown to go to school every day (you can see my house from the bridge, right on the hudson) and i must say the roads are fine, but the bridge was just made by putting sections together (thats why there is all those sections) but apart from the bridge the roads are fine.
I lived in NY for 17 yrs, then in FL for the next 33. After 30 years in the construction business, I can truly say that NY's roads and bridges are a structural engineer's worst nightmare. Every time I return to visit, I cringe at all the rusty bridge beams and bridge decks, and all the spalling concrete abutments, wondering how much longer it'll be 'til one of them collapses. I probably wouldn't want to see the underside of the Tappan Zee - too scary.
I couldn't agree with you more. Everyone crossing that thing puts themselves in danger. when my wife commuted across it everyday, I hated it. Of course if they were smart, they would install complete HD video of it right now and run it on loops so that when it does happen, they will have good video of the collapse. Outbridge isn't much better.
😅😅, the radar beep beep, actually at right when your group of vehicles entered onto the tzb, one of those, " your speed is,... gadgets was on to your right, and here your group was clocked at 55 mph,❤, yes as things opened up on the causeway portion on Rockland County side,
@vbdenny well, since im on exchange, i dont got a car...and many people drive crap cars here..believe it or not...so 130 is like its top taha...(my friends car)
thanks. Nice to know that the Irish still love NY

I just drove over the Tappan Zee about an hour ago and traffic wasn't all that bad for a Friday evening.
Dusk is the best time of day!
Great video vdenny. Could you do one during the daytime in the future?

Well secure your loose fillings before going over the TZB. The bridge carries a heavy traffic load across the mighty Hudson.

know what you mean. my wife works in Tarrytown and takes the Tap every day. Yeah, Tarrytowni s a nice area but way too damn expensive.

@webmail111 ahh, the GW is always terrible.
Well before you leave Germany you had better get out and rip up that Autobahn. 2-3 in the AM is the best driving time.
mixed with a little BQE
