Kurt's Angel i am normally a rock guy and I like this dude. Don’t know much about the genre, but I saw him open for the weekend in Atlanta & he was good.
I can see George's point regarding stronger vocals but i actually prefer his voice. His tone and minor imperfections add to the vulnerability and authenticity of the track. He has such a distinct sound. And switches up so well, controlling the flow and direction of a song. He really is a brilliant artist, much needed in the RnB genre.
Idk if yall know but 6lack was originally a battle rapper here in Atlanta. He recently talked about how he didn't start singing until he was like 17-18, which is why he blends together hip-hop & r&b so well, plus his cadence. He also said he got into singing more because he wanted to learn how to completely construct a song, unlike a lot of battle rappers. I agree with all the points yall made. I think that the type of production he sings on would drown out a lot of artist, but to George's point sometimes a stronger vocalist would take songs to another level, however he balances that with his cadence and lyrics. I really like 6lack as an artist & person. I know yall are gonna listen to this album, (fire btw) but please whenever you get some time listen to free 6lack (1st album). It gives you a lot of insight to who he is and how he thinks. He also talks about how this doesn't really go that route, but on purpose. Anyways I really enjoy yall content, perspectives & the chemistry between yall (I say yall alot) it balances everything out. Plus I really when yall do r&b, but I like all genre's. Love yall ✌ P.S. - Don't forget about Sonder (trio, 2 producers & Brent Faiyaz) Too Fast & Searchin are great song plus Poison by Brent Faiyaz is great too.
Such a great new album from 6lack. But I completely agree R&B vocals today sound slightly, for lack of better wording, “lazy”. But the true artistry can’t be denied even with some of these “lazy” vocals. Great stories/thoughts to be shared that are relatable. You guys should try out Kendricks’s new artist Bri Steves. Her song jealousy is pretty hot and she samples one of my faves from the 90s, Jon b.
Corrine Wilson the lazy sound is a gift. To be crafted and worked at. It’s great. It’s a lazy sound but to work at that sound and create the lazy sound isn’t a lazy process at all.
Lazy? Its not lazy they not going to singing you out the build w loud vocal and high low pitches! They have a dark/emo sound..... Just bc they not sam smith doesn't make them lazy its disrespectful to say that.
@@TheDominiqueBallou exactlyyy. This low pitch that he sings with is done on purposely. That's what creates the mood of the song. I think this song was amazing. The effort put into this is way more than most people think.
6lack exceeded my expectations with this album. I’m excited to see his career unfold. Stan is another fire track off the album with a smooth beat, would love to see if you guys get the chance to get around to it. Great reaction as always guys
Been watching your videos for awhile but have never commented, just wanted to say the way you break down the songs is by FAR the best I have seen. Keep it up, best of luck to you both!
I've loved these reactions to 6lacks album. He is such a raw talent, I hope you guys listened to the whole project. My personal favorite is scripture and I would love to hear just what you guys thought of this track and the whole album all together. I am going to see him live in Aus, October 13th. I'll tell y'all how he is haha. Awesome reaction guys, keep it up
Wanna say thanks to both of you for opening up some new music to me. Started watching with the reviews on Chris Stapleton. This song is Dope! As yall say "playlist" for sure.
Django Jane by Janelle Monae, Literally one of the best rap songs by a female artist ever. Idk if y’all heard about her but she is a multi talented artist who can rap and sing, y’all need more female artists reactions!!
This album is soooo gooood. Raw emotions. I've been listening to it non-stop for a few days now. Haha. He did well over his projected sales so good for him!
Everytime i see 6LACK in the notification from you guys it's an instant click. Man the whole album is a vibe , 6LACK is my guy .... Appreciate his truth & messages within his music. 💌🐻🔥👌🏽 I fucks with you guys & the platform , keep it up 👌🏽
All my favorite channels are uploading today. Love you guys. I'm going to keep suggesting it till you do it, even if it takes years do this is the time(ballast) by Nothing More
Y’all had me dying at the aching joint part😂😂been watching you guys since 10K and have always loved the authenticity and fun you bring! Keep it up fellas!
Thank you for introducing me to this young mans music, his music tends to carry me away like H.E.R.'s music does...and I agree with George his vocals are not as strong as H.E.R.'s vocals and other vocalist but I think his pen game and production really allows him to shine. On another note I maybe by myself on this one but I'd love a review on H.E.R.'s new EP "I Used To Love Her"?
You need to do this whole album at this point it’s been on straight repeat for me, my favorite is disconnect because it resonates with me a lot. Keep up the great work!
The whole build up of the song is gorgeous, love love this R&B ballad. And lyrics are great especially with the fact on how he admits he writes songs when he make mistakes instead of saying sorry explicitly. Great song, hope 6lack gets back on course with having better communication.
Never really listened to 6LACK until you started doing reactions to him. Good shit! You guys should show one of, if not THE, greatest blues guitarist some love and review Stevie Ray Vaughn - Little Wing. Keep up the great content!!
D Patel Lupe Fiasco - Manilla , Sun God Sam & California Drug Deals also listen to Body of Work off Tetsuo and Youth before listening to Sun God Sam , it gets DEEP
Eyjafjallajökull Can you help explain that to me? Like I think I understand Body of Work, but I find it hard to catch the parallels between Body of Work and Sun God Sam. Aside from the "I always loved you", which is probably Lupe just hinting at the connection and saying he's probably going to talk about how he's always loved Hip Hop, but he's about to say something about it now (criticize it). But in the song itself, I can't follow what the lyrics are saying. It's waaay too cryptic :(
D Patel simply put SGS&TCDD is the prequel to BOW , its about the same woman(doll at the pancake house) and the same kinds of drug deals. Thats how I interpreted it.I could be wrong Its hard being a Lupe fan ......
That voicemail type thing in the beginning, that's scattered throughout the album in beginnings and endings of songs and they all piece together very well in my opinion. You gotta listen to the album in order in one sitting to fully appreciate that and to appreciate the way some songs flow into each other. The ending of Unfair (1st track) and beginning of Loaded Gun (2nd track) were so seemless I didn't notice it at first listen thought it was just a beat switch 😂 dope reaction though and solid critiques 👍🏻🙏
Marc Broussard -- Home (Soul, R & B, swamp rock) The Band of Heathens -- Hurricane (Americana, folk rock) Uncle Lucius -- Keep the Wolves Away (Rootsy classic rock, country, blues) Chris Knight -- Down the River (Country rock, Americana)
What’s up guys! Definitely one of my favorite channels on here! Would love to see you guys do a reaction to Lupe Fiasco - king nas. Really feel like he got back to his musical roots on this one!
I’d have to disagree with having a stronger vocalist, just because his voice and the instrumental did it for me . I believe a stronger vocalist wouldn’t have brought the message across
Jackie Vybz You’re right. They missed the point. The pain in his voice was absolutely perfect exactly the way he sang it. Made his regret/vulnerability more real...
You should go back and do a video on Pastor Troy- Vica Versa, although you have definitely more than likely heard it. Would love to hear the breakdown and thoughts behind the lyrics! Keep up the great content!
Coming from a free minded thinker like you guys, I really think you guys would enjoy this song called Midnight Dove by Shawn James. I actually just came across this song and instantly made me think of y’all! I’m sure you guys would appreciate his voice! It’s definitely different than anything I’ve heard before but it takes you to a different place! Hopefully you guys give it a listen! Keep the videos coming!
I dont know if you will ever get to this but guys have got to listen to this RnB artist, Adrian Marcel. He is an East Oakland singer who got his start with a cosign from Raphael Saadiq. He is in a way kinda like Ty Dolla Sign but without all of the features and like Ty, much more emphasis on West Coast sound. Check out his first mixtape 7 Days of Weak or Weak After Next Reloaded. You guys need to check out "Loneliness" by Wintersun. It's a song where the vocalist sings about the death of his father in contrast with the burning coldness of snow. Pretty interesting song.
Definitely check out Leon Bridges "Beyond"...try listening to the acoustic version. Also thanks for the intro to 6lack. I'm interested enough in his music I'm going to check it out. Keep up the good work!
I have smashed your videos recently, watched hours of content and I really dig your guys opinions on most... ahaha not all but most stuff! Keeps killing it guys! Shout out to some of your UK fans, can we hit some old UK tunes. Akala - Shakespeare, Dizzie Rascal - Fix up look sharp, Dizzie Rascal - Stop Dat , Wiley - It's WIley, Skepta - Thats not me!!
yall gotta check out Ekoh - Daudrie. George can probably appreciate the depth of the story he talks about in that song and the kid knows exactly where his pocket is.
6lack has actually said in interviews that he's more of a person to go through things & thinks that 'cause he writes about them in songs that makes it okay or solves the issues & really it doesn't. so personally, he has to do better with saying what needs to be said & communicating. & if you listen to the whole album you really get a sense of that. it's amazing, & this is definitely one of my favorite songs. it's all just 🔥🔥🔥
As Russian speaker, I read artist's name an "shlack" (number 6 in Russian starts with "sh" sound). And Google translates Russian "shlack" as "slag" in English. Now you know more.
Also lol... The bones part that old people say is true. The older you get, your joints can feel the change in air/precipitation. Hence when its about to rain, they say their joints are aching.
I appreciate DAFUQ out of y'all Hip Hop and R&B reviews/breakdowns. 6LACK whole album is fire. Check out "Let Her Go" DAS MY SHIT!!!!! and "In Between" from his old album. I need yall to break those 2 down.
6lack is underrated af
Kurt's Angel i am normally a rock guy and I like this dude. Don’t know much about the genre, but I saw him open for the weekend in Atlanta & he was good.
Not after this album
My favorite 6Lack song...can’t stop listening!
I would't want anyone other than him to sing this song 😍
I can see George's point regarding stronger vocals but i actually prefer his voice. His tone and minor imperfections add to the vulnerability and authenticity of the track. He has such a distinct sound. And switches up so well, controlling the flow and direction of a song. He really is a brilliant artist, much needed in the RnB genre.
I agree with you 100% his voice is unique to him. And I love it. I wouldn't want him to change it just bc some people think it sounds too "lazy"
You guys gotta do Let Her Go from East Atlanta Love Letter, or just more songs from the album in general. So good.
6lack go hard..
Scripture is the best song in the album in my opinion but the whole album is such a vibe man.
Facts , the beat go hard af, the hook is crazy and he spits like an mc with a serious subject
Scripture is dope af
I LOVE Scripture. It's my favorite!
Scripture is a good song but i LOVE Let Her Go 🔥
Angel Salas 🔥🔥
Stan is the best song on the album... Hands down
chris breezy that song really grew on me after seeing it LIVE in Chicago. Love it now
"Sorry" is the best on the album imo. Beautiful song. 🎶❤

Thanks for sharing that information! Great to see people sharing information so we can be educated on artist we didn't know much about.
tryintofigureitout I love this comment. Free 6LACK is one of my favorite albums ever and he is one of the few artists I back 100%.
6lack is fucking amazing best album of the year.
More specifically the song Waiting from the 7 Days of Weak mixtape.
You guys need to check out "Loneliness" by Wintersun. It's a song where the vocalist sings about the death of his father in contrast with the burning coldness of snow. Pretty interesting song.
I swear I think of a song you guys need to react to and you have a video for it!!!!! :')

Soon as they touched on the “right my wrong” or “Write my wrongs” 💡 Bryson Tiller came to the brain.
6lack has actually said in interviews that he's more of a person to go through things & thinks that 'cause he writes about them in songs that makes it okay or solves the issues & really it doesn't. so personally, he has to do better with saying what needs to be said & communicating. & if you listen to the whole album you really get a sense of that. it's amazing, & this is definitely one of my favorite songs. it's all just 🔥🔥🔥
he's got a really talented production team that work very closely together
Damn y'all finally made me gave in to 6lack. First JID now him. Wonder what the 3/3 will be.
Kidaf - Never Ending (ft. Shadow the Great)
This is a album you can listen too straight through when you listen to it , its like a movie Perfect album to its the album of the year
As Russian speaker, I read artist's name an "shlack" (number 6 in Russian starts with "sh" sound). And Google translates Russian "shlack" as "slag" in English. Now you know more.
He made my play list.
Guys I’m gonna comment this on all your new uploads, sad RnB from a small/medium sized artist No1 Noah. Song called “tired”
