    I have the rare type, rural area and pathetic flow, fitted a dedicated water tank just for this! Really good though, replaced an unpumped version.

    Thank you for this, my place is a nightmare. I have high presure but its not cosistant, it slows right down, then goes full wack, then slows right down then goes full throtle again, this is constant even in the kitchen taps, the plumbers have no idea whats going on.

    ty, we have gravity fed and the digitals are far too expensive so a traditional mixer seems like the best option

    Had both electric and mixer. But a power cut, which might be on the cards in these times, then not hot water for a shower...I use my electric at present, but if the dryer is on, its trips out after 3-4 mins. Is this the KW of the shower or does the house need a re-wire?

    So I have watched this and read the descriptions on the Digital showers and reading the Mira install instructions have become confused.
    I have a Gravity fed main system into a balanced pump feeding the existing shower.
    I assume it is a 'High pressure' system now, but the installation instructions dont mention this type. The water will need to flow for the pump to start.
    Can someone please confirm which Digital shower I need to get. (Prob going Mira with dual outlets).
    Thanks so much...

    Is he saying if you have high pressure, hot and cold system you cannot have a plain electric shower with cold water feed which are the common showers I see starting at 8.5kw.

    I understood mostly everything that was sais here, and I still don't know what type of shower I need. My water pressure is pathetic. I live in a 1970's end terrace with a plastic water tank in the loft, and a boiler with a big copper tank in the airing cupboard. The pressure on my mains water feed is also pathetic according to the thumb over the tap scenario. If I cover the tap with my thumb I stop the water dead in its tracks. So confused 😁

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for your query. It sounds a lot like you have a gravity fed system. It may well be that there isn't enough pressure being generated if taps or showers on the first floor aren't far enough away from the tank. It doesn't mean that you can't have a powerful shower though as we do stock a wide range of shower types that work with gravity fed systems. Please see link below:
      www.plumbworld.co.uk/all-showers-101817-0000?s1474=LP+%2F+Gravity+Fed
      These are generally showers which include a built-in pump to boost the pressure that's delivered through your shower head. Whether you want a power shower or mixer shower will really come down to personal preference but if you're unsure we would always advise speaking to a qualified installer because they will be able to better understand the water system you've got, guaranteeing that you get what best suits your needs.

      @@plumbworldYT Wow what a consise reply. Thank you very much for your input, its very much appreciated.
      Yes my boiler, and copper tank are literally in the bathroom airing cupboard, and the plastic tank in the loft is practically right over the top of where I would have the shower. So you're right on both counts.
      I normally like to do these things myself as an experienced DIYer but I think you have conviinced me this is one job out of my wheelhouse.
      Time to call a plumber.

    Hi I’ve got an electric shower 8.5kw works fine but sometimes stops and says low pressure, normally when someone in the house is using the water elsewhere in the house, what’s best for me

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  2 роки тому +1

      There may be a number of reasons for the shower not getting enough pressure. This could be a faulty water pressure regulator, issues with water heaters or issues with pipework. We would always recommend getting a fully qualified plumber to examine the system to make a diagnosis.

    Hi. Thankyou for the informative video. I was hoping to fit a digital shower but i live in a hard water area and i have been told digital showers are at risk of failure from limescale. Are digital showers more susceptible to failure from limescale than a traditional mixer shower? Thankyou

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  Рік тому

      We're glad you found the video useful. The internals shouldn't be any less prone to limescale than a traditional mixer shower. If you are worried though, you can consider fitting a filter to their mains water supply to remove the excess minerals. Always speak to a qualified installer to ensure you're getting the right type.

    Our shower mixer is always either scalding or too cold with almost no ability to mix. I suspect the issue is caused by the cold supply being mains pressure and the hot supply from a tank. Would a thermostatic mixer solve this problem by regulating the temperature? Or is the problem better solved with a pump on the hot supply? Would I be better off trying to just lower the hot temperature somehow and have the mixer set fully to got, or would this teperature vary from time to time as it's from a tank? (I'm more used to combi systems). Thanks

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  10 місяців тому

      Hi, Thank you for getting in touch. This sounds as if you might benefit from a thermostatic mixer shower, as the fluctuating temperature on a manual mixer shower can be affected by changes in the water pressure, for example, someone flushing the toilet or turning on the kitchen tap. A thermostatic mixer shower, however, will help to provide a safe and constant temperature throughout use. If you are at all unsure, we advise contacting a professional plumber who will be able to advise on your specific circumstances.

    Hi, is digital shower an electric shower? I have Aqualisa digital quartz shower. I was told JML shower head(hard water softener) shouldn't be used in an electric shower. So confused if mine is electric or not. But i dont have that small box next to the shower head.

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  Рік тому

      Hi, if you do indeed have a digital shower and no box then your shower shouldn't be electric. It will just be the controls on a digital shower that are electric. If you are unsure at all we advise contacting a plumber for professional advice.

    Does a higher power electric shower make more water pressure at the shower head?

    • @plumbworldYT
      @plumbworldYT  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi, thank you for your message. In most cases, a higher kW shower will result in an increased water flow. However, you should ensure your system is compatible with a high kW electric shower first. We advise contacting a professional installer to consult on your specific needs.

    Hello, we are just about to redo our bathroom. We currently have a 7.5kw electric shower. We want to install one which will give better pressure. We also have a issue with other taps in the house where the water will go cold if another tap is on. We have a combi boiler no tank. What shower should we install for the best pressure and that wouldn’t go cold when another tap is on in the house?
