- I love to mix it up and go look for morels during the springtime here in Ohio. On this journey, I take you to one of my favorite spots to look for morels. This place is very special and the abundance of wildlife never ceases to amaze me! Hunting for morels is a great family time activity. Also, a great way to get kids active and out in the woods with the bonus of getting some tasty mushrooms.

Yea I need to get out but the fish have been keeping me busy in my off time. Good luck this year
Bro no "Lets go!" for the first morel? Crushing it brother. Loving your videos, this quarantine needs to stay on longer so you can keep pumping them out. Them dryad saddles you showed are really tasty too when you get em young.
Gotta stay low volume in the woods..I cant have more people in my spot lol
I thought those were dryad saddles! How small do you usually harvest them? I seen them all over
catchNrelease you want the gills not much bigger than 1/16 inch but they’re still really good if you dry them and grind up for mushroom powder.
@@thesteadfastangler6724 Ill keep that in mind

Love the pheasant backs at minute 6:03
Absolutely they were a bit too old to be harvested
Nice job let's go. Jack bass
I was born and raised in south east Ohio. Meigs county actually, anyway, dad always told us to pinch them so they come back next year and to always use a net bag so when walking the spores fall to the ground and with luck it’ll bring more the fallowing year. He also told us to look after thunderstorms. That the Indians called them thunderheads because the thunder would shake them out of the ground 😂😂😂 idk about that part but yea. I now live up north(my first spring here) , 45 minutes south of Lake Erie and have had no luck yet. Maybe still early as it’s a little colder here but I am very very hopeful. You didn’t do bad. Enough for dinner 🥘 🍄
Appreciate ya stopping by and watching! I have learned a few things about mushroom picking after this video. Definitely have a mesh sack these days!
I’m from Cleveland and grew up hunting Meigs with my papaw, great times
wow nice video men
thank you!
We have been looking for mushrooms forever now and today we just found a huge mushroom
congratulations!!!! Its always exciting finding big mushrooms!
I’m missing a bumper season in SW Ohio, dang it!!! All kinds of “life” things all happening at once (all crap too) and this coming Saturday would be a PERFECT day to “rip ‘em”!!! That’s what my grandpa would say when the bluegill were spawning. “Let’s go rip ‘em, Lea!” Fishin’ in the gravel pits and huntin’ mushrooms!!! I miss that man so much. Great memories (and life lessons) had with that man!
Thanks for sharing this video!!!
Truly appreciate you watching the video!! Those memories are to be cherished
It’s 55 degrees here in ohio October should I be able to find them
No these are a spring mushroom growing season. Typically the first few days of 50 degree temps
I gotta take you out mushroom hunting.
I’m ready man!!
Their products are really crazy tbh!😂😂
Where is this?
Southeast Ohio! We have some great mushroom lands.
Finding mushrooms isn'tdifficult, and never has beenn. 03:53 He doesn't know if a slope is south-facing or north-facing.
never said it was hard! but thanks for watching!
Did anyone else see the creepy skeletal face in the old tree trunk at minute mark 4:42?
No I did not!! I’ll have to go see this
yo you do mushrooms too!
When the time is right I try too..I am no expert but have a couple spots
Thanks... we actually got to view outdoor scenes instead of people's face's talking and talking
No problem! I am ready for the upcoming hunt
Use a net sack so the pours from the mushroom fall off and reseed. This guy is amateur forsure.
Absolutely an amateur! Thanks for the tips!! Good luck this season
You should really get the correct sack for mushrooms not a Walmart sack 🤦🏼♂️
Yea I was a true newbie then at hunting mushrooms. Now it’s all about the mesh bags to spread the spores. Thanks for watching!
@@thecreekcrawler thank you for posting I realized how long ago this video was uploaded and felt like a ass for that comment
