this is what people need: a stylist to help them understand they have a "uniform" and therefore don't need 50,000 things. That will help consumption more than anything we're expecting the fashion houses to do. There are rich people but this is for the rest of us who love fashion but have a budget, and might rather spend it going higher end than more. I saw this lady once who did beige and maroon. She lived in a artist poor rent area and i found how she looked just brilliant, stunning.
I love watching you in other people's closets. I just love hearing people's stories about why they have chosen their clothes and then the styling trouble shooting is really satisfying.
Fashion is 100% wellness. I LOVE your Closet Editing System and overall approach to building your wardrobe and outfits. I've been so much more critical of my purchases to make sure they fit in well with my closet and am embracing the "less is more" approach. So happy you're starting your own UA-cam channel! 💕
Love this! Your closet editing system has changed my life! I have sent that video to everyone I know. Keeping the photos of new outfits in my phone was such a good idea. I love getting to see inside of your own closet, and was excited to see how simple and minimalist it really is.
I don’t know anyone who has had such a massively positive impact on how I think about my wardrobe. Perhaps, most importantly, how confident I feel to embrace my own style and figure out how to spice it up and love and use what I have!! Just brilliant. 👌 Thank you.
Yes! Since I am social distancing it is harder to show on other people so I’m sort of limited by my own closet and own body but working on some videos that i hope will feel more relevant to other body types!!! Can’t wait until i can finally be face time face with clients again!
Love this, So informative and simple to follow. Thank you! Agree with Lisa, looking forward to seeing how you dress different body types. I’m curvy (although currently heavily pregnant so live in sweats!) and medium olive skinned so would love to see you dress someone similar to see what colours and styles suit me. Take care x
So excited that you've started a channel! I've watched and re-watched you on violette's channel and found your approach so helpful and down-to-earth while keeping the beauty and fun in styling. Keep up the good stuff!
Your tips are soo usefull. They are for any type of person no matter the type of life that they have. I loved your videos on violette's channel and have been waiting anxiously for more of your content. Your videos changed my style and my life!!
So glad you have your own channel now! Your minimalist wardrobe is inspiring me. I would love to see some tips on different ways of styling more statement pieces, bright dresses, patterned skirts etc.
Can't wait to see more! I've just turned 22 and at that age where I'm starting to want quality over quantity, and trying to build that wardrobe where I can grab anything and I feel amazing in it. Would love to hear more tips on this ❤❤❤
I LOVED THAT YOU MAKE ME THINK ABOUT MY CLOSET AND STYLE - NOW I FEEL MUCH MORE FREE AND SHARP ABOUT MY CHOICES. EASY LIFE. KEEP HELPING AND SHINING ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! KEEP DOING THIS GREAT JOB !
Not only are these my absolutely favorite types of videos to watch but you, Allison, are such a style inspiration for me. I love your edits on IG and I am So overjoyed you’ve created a UA-cam channel
Your editing video with Violette and your instagram edits have been life changing for me!! I went from being a corporate office worker to a stay home mom, to working from home, and felt stuck in a cycle of getting rid of everything only to buy more stuff again. Your approach to start with pieces I wear all the time FIRST has helped SO much. I can't begin to tell you... I would love to hear more about how you shop - how do you determine whether a piece will fit in your collection? I get stuck in a pattern of duplication... then I get sick of wearing the same thing... and complain I have nothing to wear :D
You are NOT alone in that! When I’m shopping, i like to ask myself: why would i wear this over something i have? Will this piece allow me to wear other things in my closet more? That seems to help me!!!
Could you do looks with denim shirts ? I love them too and own two but aside from jeans and a white tshirt I don’t know how else to wear. Please tell me I’m not the only like this?
Loved the video, a delve into someone else’s wardrobe is also so interesting and inspiring. Would love to see a video on denim, specifically your take on jeans and different cuts.
So excited to see you on YT!! I have followed you on Instagram since seeing you in Violette's maternity video. I've done your closet edit as well, and I see many people commenting have used that system. I love your content. You're relatable even though you style very famous people, and I get unending inspiration from your IGTV and Insta posts. Cannot wait for more videos here!
OK, I am full of ideas today. Heh heh...😉😉😉❤️Could you maybe do a show on how to style belts, and also, some of us have different body shapes, I E, shorter waist longer waist, etc. I would love to see that and maybe like the three basic kind of belts to have. Also what hangers do you use, please? Thank you so much Allison!
Great idea! I use just the classic velvet hangers from amazon! I have found they are sturdy and thin! I hang my shorts with plastic clip hangers just because it’s easier for me to see
Fantastic! A perfectly curated, sophisticated wardrobe that says so much about you. Professional, intelligent and chic. Your editing system has been a real game changer for me. Now I can clearly see what works & why and it makes getting dressed so much easier in the morning. I take your point about duplicates and the reason I had them is that when one goes into the wash, I would have a spare ready. However, with the regulars I can be creative with what I have. I’m curious to know if hats & scarves are a part of your regular accessories too.
I’m so glad the editing system has helped! Scarves are def part of the accessory rotation more during the fall and winter for me but I’m not a huge hat person!
adore this video, thank you it was nice to have a look at what your closet looks like. I also like that you said you keep things to a minimum so as to not have a lot to decide over like with your necklaces (not your exact quote but how I see it ;)thank you Allison
Love everything about this video! It is so interesting and helpful to see such a perfectly curated closet from a stylist! You inspire me to be intentional about every clothing purchase. ❤️
I would love to hear your opinion on mens style. Maybe have a video of celebrity men who’s styles you admire and why? Just an idea. Love your style and advice :)
could you please make videos about : -styling monochromatic neutral outfits (beige, white, cream) -how to find the ideal versatile heel (different price points) -styling prints (houndstooth, checkered, etc.) -how to style corduroy pants, jackets, etc. ?
Love this so much Allison! It would be great to see a version of this when autumn/winter roles around, and whether you swap anything pieces in or out? Or how you would style certain pieces for winter and summer? Xx
Love how you don't buy hundreds of things, most of girls on social media seem so tacky to me with that non stop buying obsession and with that Gucci Gucci Gucci syndrome (which to me is the fact of being compulsively buying "luxury brands" items and being so horribly dressed from head to toe with monograms etc )
Love, love, LOVE your channel so much, Allison! I’ve been inspired by your style ever since discovering you on Violette’s channel. Would love to know where you get your storage items from, like your shoe rack or jewelry storage. Maybe a video idea where you explain your essential wardrobe storage items! Anyways, keep up the amazing work!
I love this and I am so happy that you have your own channel. I was stopping and starting and taking notes..this was amazing. It would be great to see more of your handbag collection! This was so inspiring!
Such a great video,t thank you! Including the images of complete outfits while you highlighted each piece of your wardrobe truly took me to fashion school. My request is a wardrobe like this but for a curvy ginger who doesn’t wear black, white, grey, or navy. I know what I consider my neutrals and my palette is set but I don’t see capsule wardrobes or minimal wardrobes online that delete those colors...ever. I literally look like I’m dying in those colors. I firmly believe that chic is not about wearing what anyone else wears, it is about the way we see the world. As an artist, a woman of a certain age who knows herself and what looks good on me, and as someone who gets great joy in being unique I know that my style needs to be a reflection of me. I just get stuck in this planning stage because the examples I see are invariably in greyscale. My strawberry blonde hair looks great with greyscale clothes but my SKIN does not. My eyes look fine with greyscale too. But when every shadow or wrinkle is highlighted by certain colors, tones you don’t even enjoy, and people constantly ask if you are unwell when you are thriving...you stop caring what other people think the fashionable colors are. Michael Kors and Meana Garcia can kiss my considerable patootie. I realize most people look best in cool colors but there is no shortage of people doing capsules and minimal wardrobes online for the cool kids. Warm colors are wonderful too and variety is the spice of life. I would love to see your approach to a warm toned wardrobe just once, I think it would really help me. Thank you for reprogramming our brains about fashion...it is SO welcome.
i.e.presents now that I’m old I’ve started wearing pink tones of every shade ,and some red ...I find they are great for my skin👩🏻🦳 and I’m so enjoying the color now
Speaking of grandmothers, your living room windows remind me of my grandma’s apartment in NYC 😍, where I lived with her for a little bit before she passed.

Thank you so much for starting your own Episodes and explaining your process further! I have applied your Editing System to almost every aspect of my clothing. Still need to minimize the clothes I don't wear but have a hard time parting with. It's a process but I am enjoying the ride. Truly love what you are doing, so inspirational and your taste level is perfect!! Big fan!
I LOVE this so much, I can't tell you!!! I first saw you on Violette's channel and just thought you were amazing. I'm so so glad to discover your channel and I am really looking forward to everything that is to come. Loved the detail of putting up the outfit photo's while you were explaining the pieces. Warm wishes. X
Allison. I really believe that you are the best out there concerning editing and styling. I absolutely love your style, and I like a very simple look too...After watching 1 million of these types of shows, I’m really starting to realize that my look is very simple... top and pants and maybe a blazer, so your style is dead on for me! I just love how you show a multitude of different ways to wear different things that you have! Did you say that that necklace came from your grandma? I would love to find something like that that wasn’t too expensive. I really really struggle with jewelry. I almost never wear it, with the exception of small earrings. It always seems to Feel extra on me for some reason. Please keep doing these! You are so so good at this. I am you’re number one fan! And after we take care of a ridiculously expensive septic problem,- 😳🙏I would love to do a FaceTime session with you.
This is such a nice message and it makes me so happy that you have begun to figure out your own style and embracing the simplicity! The necklace is from my grandma BUT on my Instagram highlight i have an edit of my fave Chunky Gold Chains and i have one up on my website now that i love (in my most recent post!!!) ❤️❤️❤️
I love this (and all of your videos!) Id be really keen to know your knack for keeping a wardrobe so edited when your job (and society!) is always pushing so much newness. I struggle with the urge to resist consuming as I love fashion
It’s not easy! I love clothes but i try to remind myself that i can love something on someone else and it doesn’t necessarily have to go in my wardrobe! I’ve made soooo many mistakes copying looks that i like on other women and then realize it really doesn’t suit me!!!!
I’ve redone my closet now...but the “things I wear most” are tees and sweatpants! I’m a singer songwriter and work from home and need the comfort...It’s going to be really interesting for me now to figure out more while following your videos. I’ve taken out all the things I imagine myself wearing and wondering where to put them as they are mostly occasional wear. A vid on strong trackpants? 😊🥳
Came here from TikTok. Thanks so much for making this, I wasn’t getting there on my own and needed the help 😅 You’ve made it logical, and a lot easier to understand!
Good call! This one was more focused on me but i will def have guests soon! Also check out my playlist with my videos from Violette_fr channel because i have some more variety on there!!!
I would love to hear your take on how to style and choose pants. I love flare jeans and wide leg pants but always have trouble styling shoes with them and getting the proportions right (I'm short and curvy).
You’re only the second person I’ve seen to mention the Robie, and the first one who actually owns it. I’ve been looking for the “perfect” Chelsea boot. I take a similar approach to you with my wardrobe, so I want like one Chelsea boot, one sock boot, and one ivory boot - just the one, high-quality pair in each style. I’m agonizing over it and I have saved like 30 secondhand “almost-right” versions, but I haven’t bought any of them because if they’re not exactly right then I’ve wasted the money. I am leaning towards just buying the Robie new...
Loved every piece and how everything went with everything!! Could you please do a video for those who live in hotter/humid climates? Sometimes I have a hard time relating because I live in Hawaii and I barely wear sweaters and blazers (unless I’m in the office AC or traveling)
What are you thoughts on Kibbe for styling and do you use it to style your clients? Also what are you tips for styling a petite hourglass? Still working on what suits me best in terms of cuts and color pallets 😅. Thank you so much!
Hola Allison, I loved your video.. Im currently looking out for fall outfits. I recently purchased a grey boyfriend cut sweater. What would be a great item to buy now for fall.
You have a wonderful sense of possibility in pairing different items. Such inspiration to think differently about The current items in my closet! I love all of the blazers and the incorporation of black in your styling. But in LA I would probably even feel overdressed in a blazer even at work, especially a structured blazer. (Well, i’m currently working from home because of the covid, but most of the work places I’ve worked in in LA have been very casual.) How can I incorporate more classic style elements into my wardrobe but in a more casual West Coast Way?
I love this video! As I am moving today to a new flat, this is exactly what I needed to get organized! Where do you buy such belts hangers? Love this idea!
I usually use that canvas Saint Laurent tote for overnight but also like the overnight bag from everlane. That’s a good question though bc i really don’t know any good weekender bags !
What size are you?? Can u do a staying video for a U.k size 12.. I am 5.5 and am feeling stuck... I feel most staying video are for either really small or big... Nothing much for a regular basic size.
Question: do you think a Chanel crossbody bag is worth the investment? Would love you to do a whole segment on investment bags - work, off duty (elegant) & off duty (casual) 😃🙏

Its amazing how less items you own, and still every piece is wearable and fashionable!
Would love to see a handbag breakdown and what designers/style of bag you would recommend as almost a capsule wardrobe? X
I don’t know anyone who has had such a massively positive impact on how I think about my wardrobe. Perhaps, most importantly, how confident I feel to embrace my own style and figure out how to spice it up and love and use what I have!! Just brilliant. 👌 Thank you.

Love love love. The color palette is so minimal but you get so much out of every piece.
Would love to see how you style different body types.

Yes! Next will be summer looks and that should be right up your alley!!!
Yes! I also battle to style clothes in our climate because everything feels hot and sticky that I resort to pure function!
Allison Bornstein perfect thanks! But also summer looks that can be taken to the office? 😬
What are you thoughts on Kibbe for styling and do you use it to style your clients? Also what are you tips for styling a petite hourglass? Still working on what suits me best in terms of cuts and color pallets 😅. Thank you so much!
I’ve never heard of that! But it seems interesting! I will work on videos for different body types
Hola Allison, I loved your video.. Im currently looking out for fall outfits. I recently purchased a grey boyfriend cut sweater. What would be a great item to buy now for fall.
Great advice😊Love the closet too! Organisation goals!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! It's a very good reference. I love how you call it your "collection"
Lol 🙇🏼♀️
So beautifully done!
So great! Where is that white and wood jewelry box from??
It is by Umbra from Amazon
Love your style.. could you please do a video on sustainable brands? 😊😘
Obsessed. Mind blown as per usual. Also so inspired now!!
Thank you!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love everything about it!
this was amazing! i can't wait for more videos :)
Yay!! Love these videos!! Your closet is so beautiful, I want everything!! Hahaha. I wish you would have tried on the outfits, maybe next time?? :)
Next time!!! Good idea !
Hi Allison, you have helped me find joy in these crazy times. Thank you! Can you share where the black top you are wearing is from?
I’m so glad! It’s Nili Lotan and i think it’s on sale on net a porter!!
I’m also in a very casual area and I wear blazers with leggings, tee, and runners!
Loved absolutely everything about this!
I love this video! As I am moving today to a new flat, this is exactly what I needed to get organized!
Where do you buy such belts hangers? Love this idea!
I got these on Amazon!!
where did you get the belt hanger? looks so handy!
This is EVERYTHING. Thank you!
Hi, if you were going to add an overnight duffle to your closet which would it be??
I usually use that canvas Saint Laurent tote for overnight but also like the overnight bag from everlane. That’s a good question though bc i really don’t know any good weekender bags !
What size are you?? Can u do a staying video for a U.k size 12.. I am 5.5 and am feeling stuck... I feel most staying video are for either really small or big... Nothing much for a regular basic size.
This episode was a bit speedy for me😅😁otherwise I LOVED IT A LOT!!! thank you for filming it! 🥰
Loved this video!
Question: do you think a Chanel crossbody bag is worth the investment? Would love you to do a whole segment on investment bags - work, off duty (elegant) & off duty (casual) 😃🙏
You’re a genius! Big love 😍
Love your style! ❤️Could you pls make a video about wedding guest outfits? 😊
That’s a good one!
