i had like 3 out of my last 6 runs end like this, the boss makes 2-3 consistent key resists, I get like 2-3 bad trinket rolls in succession, the boss gets 2-3 lucky back-to-back crits with attacks that have a 20% chance, and boom half my team is dead.
@@FatWalterWhite69 He literally has the 2 most damaging moves in the entire game, besides being a healer and the best offensive support in the entire game just by virtue of his 2 main curses. But at least he is OP in a fun way not like *kof* PG ...

I just had the most insane solo hero experience. I went through the Sprawl, lost 3 to a Shambler, and Hellion managed to almost singlehandedly carry us to the Inn.
I say almost, because she died to the cult fight SOLEY because Hellion can't hit the third row. I couldn't out damage the block and regen that the altar was spamming onto the axe dude.
She survived 23 rounds and 5 exultations before finally losing a DD check to the bleed. That one trait that heals at the start at every round prolonged the agony.
That was propably the most heroic death Boudica could have gotten.^^ Yeah, Shambler ruins my runs as well.

I really don't think there was anything you could have done to save your PD. Exemplar just played like a god. His AI is diabolical.
yep when the boss attack crit obliterates plague doctor's entire hp pool, its just GG, happened to me a few times on the tangle boss. similar thing but one time was kind of my fault, i had that cultist trinket where if you take stress you take 1 dmg, so I didn't even get a death door chance. just went from almost full HP to crit boom dead.
I will never equip that trinket again
imo he should have taken intimidate on leper instead of bash, being able to still have taunt on turn 4 would have saved pd if occ still healed her
DD is one of the few games where the AI actually seems like it's doing its best to kill you.
@@nauseousegg6416 sure there's many things that may have helped in hind-sight but this is just the nature of these RNG-heavy games. The whole point of rogue-like games is that the way they are designed, the RNG swings in both directions, and sometimes you will have it easy, and sometimes the boss will crit 3 times in a row. But hopefully most times your run is in-between where skill can play a role. But a lot of times, 'skill' is just what the player tells themself when they get favorable RNG :)
Removing Inimidate from Leper's bar is always a mistake 1000% of the time
Imagine not bringing intimidate and playing victim when withstand is on cooldown... clown lol

He played mostly safe, but skipping healing that dot on pb and pushing dps was a pinch greedy given dots are the number one killer XD She resisted the second dot application so battle med the turn before would have saved her possibly
It was schrodingers blight. If I cured it, then it would apply again. The real thing that killed her was the cherub summon that pinged her. The 1 enemy that can do it from exultation.
I once got hit with a Prelude Crit + Blight on my GR right into a first turn 75% DBR check fail... That's when I knew I was a playing a Darkest Dungeon game
Exemplar finished my Grand Slam run on the Chapter 5. I was so mad.
Exemplar for some reason did 4 preludes, so all my team had a combo

Using 2 times the item that buff blight resist on Occultist just for the lols, instead of Plague Doctor was the mistake.
You don't give your alchemist pd with thick blooded extra blight res :P
@@ShuffleFM OMG Shuffle responded I've never thought I'd get this far. Also Didnt Know she had extra bligth res other than the Alch Path. May had Been a good use anyway to lower her stress if she got hit by prelude, which she did xd

Out of the 15 or so fights I've had with Exemplar, there's only like 4 where I didn't lose someone to that motherducker. I swear I can't for the life of me reliably beat this thing even if I bring double guard/taunt. Prelude Fall spam coupled with the regen is a nightmare to deal with.
lol right that's the rng for you, i've lost count how many times i beat him and he still gets me from time to time. And really shuf played it about as good as you can prepare for.
Items can make all the difference, try bringing as much smoke bomb as possible

Best solution to him is using flag and getting that stained trinket that gives like 75% extra hp and -50% dmg. He just tanks every. Single. Hit. Plus the food buffs he gets to just under 100 hp, so sure, you take 15 dmg a swing, but heal like 30 regardless of who heals you. Crit healing 50-60 health is game breaking.
Only guard and 100% resist to all DOTS can save ur character from dying to a boss or minions who personally hates a particular hero. Even random weak enemies can achieve that, especially lair one
Shuffle claiming he wasn’t “playing unsafe” by naming everything he did except the thing that actually got him killed, which was using the healing salve instead of Medicine to cure the blight. That’s my streamer!
We need an Echo and Loki update to have even the smallest resemblance of balance.

Today I had a run where my flagellant ended up with 123 hp. Trophy from the baby and then the +75% hp -50% dmg trinket, punish was my only damage skill. And then I gave him some bread too. Big boy.

Chat calling taunt a "braindead" token really says all. All you need for this fight is a couple characters that are useful. Highwayman and Occultist here were not useful, and Leper can't carry an incompetent party all by himself, evidently.

Occultists first two turns gives a good example of why support abilities need to be busted to be viable. Damage is often guaranteed and the best crowd control is a dead enemy. But if you try to play the control game, you end up rolling the dice for a chance to do something. That's a 40% chance for this asshole who absolutely needs to be Weakened, to instead just make you waste your turn.
Also, Prelude is bullshit.

Dude uses all his healing abilitys right away, no provocation from leper, even tho it arent needed to just proc token with your attack(great 9 damage, damn ) . Holding other heals, and going for risky vulnerable for 3 turns in a row, getting only 1 of them. Basicly wasted 5 turns in total.

Enemies giving themselves regen is just fricking bullshit. I mean it kind of fine if you work around it but why the hell they have it in the first place? They already have every 2nd attack inflicting stress, DOT, stun or everything combined and they hit hard as hell
I hate any enemy that heals, but at least the Exemplar needs set-up to use Pillar of Sacrifice.
Imagine an enemy that can heal as an action whenever it wants, and also deal damage, and buff itself, and give you an incurable disease that causes you to act out just for having it, all in the same action. Now imagine a whole DLC of those

Why not take intimidate on Leper, too, instead of bash to have a second taunt option... Not questioning plays, only battle medicine would have saved her, but the damage race nature of the fight (and game) suggests using the salve. Sad(

It gives back 1 because it comes off DD it's like you not dying if you have 1 hp
This was BS, but at 4:34 I think the only thing that might’ve saved it would’ve been if you’d have chop+’d him instead of going for the bash, just because it would’ve ignored the blind. But even that would’ve been a hail mary.
Enemies in DD are designed to hit random targets. If they are to start focusing one target, the game would be unplayable.
Meanwhile, taunt token exists on half the heroes

Maybe I will pick up this game after all. I feel like once I beat Battletech any other turn based game is going to feel easy. At least in this game you know you'll never have to fight more than 4 enemies at once.
