He mentions many opinions, many names, including Alexander the Great, but he denies that that was him. The name of the book is: The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries, Arabic: کتاب الآثار الباقية عن القرون الخالية, Kitāb al-āthār al-bāqiyah `an al-qurūn al-khāliyah. I have a Russian translation of this book. So there was never a consensus among muslim scholars (early scholars as well) that Dhul Qarnayn is Alexander. Sameer is just an ignorant fool who can't do a proper research on any topic he raises.

Dhulqarnayn is most likely Cyrus the Great. In the Bible, Daniel 8:20, in Daniel's dream, the king of media and Persia is called "ba'al-haqqeranayim" which means having two horns aka Dhulqarnayn. P.S take note that the Hebrew word for "king" is singular but they translated it as plural.

Abdullah Sameer missed the entire point of the story of the Dhul Qurnain. There is a reason why his name was not mentioned. Because his name didn't matter. At the end of the day, what his name was is an academic luxury, and there is no consensus on who Dhul Qurnayn really is. There was an academic discussion in tafsir about who he *could* have been, but no definite answer, and the fact that Alexander the Great was pagan is further proof that he is not Dhul Qurnayn, not that the Qur'an is wrong!! Could you post links to the sources cited, i.e. the evidence that the narration is weak or fabricated as opposed to sahih and the manuscript that dates before 622ad. Is the manuscript text i.e. the ink carbon dated before 622ad or is it the material that it is written on thanks.
Hi Padre I tried to check that for you but couldn't find anything about the carbon dating of the text. But I did come across a citation that says the version of Alexanders story that has the Gog and Magog narrative isn't found in the earliest versions of those stories. Hence it's likely in my opinion that story's showing similarities between the two is most likely a case of others copying the Quran and not the other way around. Dhulqarnayn is most likely Cyrus the Great. In the Bible, Daniel 8:20, in Daniel's dream, the king of media and Persia is called "ba'al-haqqeranayim" which means having two horns aka Dhulqarnayn. P.S take note that the Hebrew word for "king" is singular but they translated it as plural.
@@rafayadnanhamid8795 No Cyrus wasn't a pagan. There is too much evidence which suggests that he was monotheist, but outside of that, we even have a Hadith where the Prophet states that Cyrus was a believer. The Hadith is very long, I will only quote the part that is relevant to this:
... فاَوحي الي ملک من ملوک فارس، يقال له کورس و کان مؤمنا، اَن سر الي بقايا بني اسرائيل حتي تستنقذهم...
...So Allah revelated to a king among the kings of Persia by the name of Cyrus "who was a believer" to go to the rest of the children of Israel and save them...

There is a reason why his name was not mentioned. Because his name didn't matter. At the end of the day, what his name was is an academic luxury, and there is no consensus on who Dhul Qurnayn really is. There was an academic discussion in tafsir about who he *could* have been, but no definite answer, and the fact that Alexander the Great was pagan is further proof that he is not Dhul Qurnayn, not that the Qur'an is wrong!! What kind of warped logic is this?!! LOL. If the Qur'an actually named Alexander the Great he would have had a point, but that never happened!

Allah specifically mentioned Dhul Qarnayn as a ruler around the time of Ibrahim (AS). So him being Alexander is out of the question.

Could you post links to the sources cited, i.e. the evidence that the narration is weak or fabricated as opposed to sahih and the manuscript that dates before 622ad. Is the manuscript text i.e. the ink carbon dated before 622ad or is it the material that it is written on thanks.
Hi Padre I tried to check that for you but couldn't find anything about the carbon dating of the text. But I did come across a citation that says the version of Alexanders story that has the Gog and Magog narrative isn't found in the earliest versions of those stories. Hence it's likely in my opinion that story's showing similarities between the two is most likely a case of others copying the Quran and not the other way around. Citation 👇
