Great vid. I'm doing a full break upgrade this spring, this video shoukd help me alot. I'm a tradesperson but a bit of a noob when it comes to wrenching. My xs is an 1980 1100. Also my primary is a 06 CNR 1000, funny we have simular bikes!!
Haha, yeah I've fallen behind a bit lately with school and work taking up a lot of my time. But I've been doing some small stuff when I can. Hopefully I'll get another video up soon
You have two options: 1) you use an air compressor to blast air into the brake line hole on the caliper. This will cause the piston to fire out like a cannon and can be dangerous. It's the fastest method but I recommend only doing it if you know how to safely. It's what I did. 2) While the brake line and master cylinder are still connected, pump the brake until the piston pops out the caliper. Do this over a bucket or pan as the brake fluid will pour out when the piston comes out.

Lol the xs1100 for a bike that’s “not aggressive” I love it! I’m getting closer and closer on my xs1100 as well!
