    Interesting video. But you pointed out how well you described your item pushes you up in the search it's a load of crap for a new seller. My son started selling on eBay and I helped him do the listing. I search for his listing 200 per page 20 pages still could not find his listing. After about 5 pages it was all international sellers (niche item). So I set the distance to 10 kilometers as he had local pickup. Still there was 25 other ads which were thousands of KMs away, in front of his. As it was a niche item he sold it within four days to Las Vegas which I believe buyer was trying scam the $1500 by not picking up the item. Lucky I used my auspost a/c, they auspost it was very supportive. I was surprised eBay paid my son as soon as tracking was uploaded. But another item he sold within Qld. For $2100 eBay held the fund for 30 day even that the buyer left positive feedback. Cheers Graham

      Ofcourse it won’t get you to the top of search as a new seller that will take time, selling history etc etc (maybe I didn’t explain this enough) but the better listing you do the higher you will rank. There is also the option to use promoted listing to gain I higher rank in search.
      Title, item specifics, price, postage, return options, seller history amount other things all contribute to higher search ranking.

      @@2AussieThrifters I think after look at 4000 listing and still can't find it and after setting a distance of 10 km and having 25 sellers from Sydney and Melbourne. You should explain to new sellers because they get very disappointed and quit reselling right at the beginning of the journey because they think they're doing something wrong. Because UA-camrs make it sound so easy, instead of being honest and telling them it's going to be a hard slog for the first 12 months. I'm not having a go at U, just pointing it out.

      @@theaussienurseflipper.8113 we’ve done plenty of videos about the realities of reselling.
      We are going to be running this new store as part of a new series so will be able to show exactly how hard or easy it is as we will have that brand new account to refer back to, so hopefully that covers off this going forward.

      @theaussienurseflipper.8113 have you ever thought that maybe it was just a bad listing? Did you try changing the keywords to see if it yielded different results?
      Also I wouldn't recommend international shipping for new sellers with less than 200 feedback. Too many people will try to take advantage. Especially on high dollar items.

    Are you guys using an old eBay listing page? My eBay listing page has been updated awhile back, and I love the new look.
    Also, I used to use a phone with a white background, but I started seeing sellers using a light grey background. After trying the light grey background, I must say it's much nicer and makes the colours of your item stand out. Also upgraded to a good camera, and I no longer need to edit my photos . Using a memory card has been much quicker than uploading by phone as well.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  7 місяців тому

      I'd say because that’s a new account it’s probably not on the newest upgrade (I don’t use the computer listing function a lot).
      The grey is great especially if you’re not able to get that good balance with white, Jaz has pretty much nailed the white background set up though.

    Great content! Thank you. Do you guys find that clothing and shoes have a relatively high return rate or not so much? Beginner here.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the support, not really if you describe the items correctly disclose any flaws and provide measurements you should be pretty safe I think our overall return rate is less than 1%

    The photos being in order when you upload is what I like about using the phone to upload. But it only works if they were one of the last xx amount of photos you took. Anyone figured out a way around this?

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  7 місяців тому

      Yes we generally upload direct from phone so haven’t needed to look at it in terms of the order.

    Have some friends that have been doing ebay for years, they used to take twenty to thirty minutes to do a listing, now it can take thirty to forty five minutes the system has gotten very time consuming and sales are few and far apart. Good for some pocket change but nothing to depend on to pay your bills.

    • @2AussieThrifters
      @2AussieThrifters  7 місяців тому +1

      It’s definitely changed over the years and does take some time to build up, however over time it can become a income earner. This is our full time income and has been for about 2 years now.
