This is because when sir is behind the focus you are right that there should not be any image seen in the mirror and that too virtual as concave mirror doesnot produce virtual and inverted image. Here the issue is that when sir is between focus and center of curvature image is formed behind the center of curvature but for that rays will have to converge there. But because sir is a huge object and standing in between the rays are actually not converging behind the center of curvature and are been blocked by sir ... So there is no image formed ... But the rays which are converging in nature are going into the camera lena and our eye lens ... But our eyes are not designed to form image when rays are converging ... If rays are already converging while falling on eye lens it means that rays are coming from behind infinity ... And so actually our brain is having hard time processing where these converging rays are coming from ... And it is trying to process it in its own way and so we are seeing a mirage which is been created by our brain and image is actually not there behind the mirror
