    The fact that the bride was totally fine with her mom planning and her mom doing the MOST for her daughter. Not that it’s the money that’s love but it’s the EFFORT she put in and TIME and THOUGHT. Now that’s parenting

    • @louiseclarkashburn6664
      @louiseclarkashburn6664 3 роки тому +73

      Not really great parenting to give your child so much and teach that total indulgence is to be expected. What if her new life includes hardship and privation at times, will she know how to cope?

      I studies for exams while raising a child, doing a clinical internship, and doing household chores as usual. That’s not the point I was making. It is their money and the choice as to how they spend it is theirs. I just think spending so lavishly gives both bride and groom an unrealistic view of life. That is such a hard act to follow.

    • @reshmastadas1701
      @reshmastadas1701 3 роки тому +159

      @@louiseclarkashburn6664 Good for you! But let's be honest... Her mother spent 15000$ on invitations... What kind of "hardship" you imagine her to have in future? She will have staff for everything. Instead of being a rich useless trash she is focusing on creating her own identity, which is a good thing.
      I see daughters fighting in this same show about the dress their mother chooses. Meanwhile she had a whole wedding planned out by her mother but she didn't say that "it's too tacky" or "I don't like the color of the napkin guests are wiping their mouths with".
      Being an Indian all I can say is that that's in the culture. We see emotions behind the things, we don't like to hurt our parents and we take care of them even when they are old. Even when they re bedridden, that's what good kids here are supposed to do (and I am proud of it). I don't know about her, but I have many dresses my mom bought for me that I don't like much, but I still wear them just because I want to see her smile everytime I wear them. I think the person is talking about that kind of "parenting".

      Lately a week is normal! But earlier, sometimes it could even take around 3 weeks to a month! We have many traditions and ceremonies, each differ with from where ur from and ur family, but there are a few that are more famous. It’s lots of fun, it’s basically a festival. New clothes get made or bought, the best food EVER (sometimes it’s a show off competition, which isn’t the best thing) but there are places in India where it is done very very low-key. Some people are starting to do smaller weddings as well, but usually as a compromise the reception has tons of people (ofc this differs from person to person, family to family, state to state, and everything). Basically u should totally come to one and then come to thousands. Just an input

      It is lovely to have a ceremony thoughtfully put together. However, the excesses make me sad. I think a nice meal with friends and family at a nice venue is fine. No one cares about so many center pieces, flowers and a horse and a yacht. Their excess show of wealth saddens me. Give to the poor if you have so much.
