I found your wonderful Kreisleriana through Mark Ainleys fantastic "Piano Files". I'm utterly excited, happy, and in tears - thank you very much!
Michiel Demarey is the most gifted piano player of our time and yes he is coping with issues like Robert Schumann did ...the fact is that he is such a gift to the music world and his talent will be known and recognized worldwide. I wish him only well and all the success possible. We love you Michiel.Demarey :-)
Dear Jemand :-), yes it is good, but I like Michiel Demeray's style...its personal and intense...its not any more SCHUMANN but DEMERAY that takes it under his own wings. There are many Kreisleriana interpretations...and I guess it is each listeners own choice...but in Michiel Demeray's interpretation I am catapulted into new Kreisleriana Spheres.
Jemand... :-) so right!
@Jemand Anderes no you are wrong... Ich bin Robert Schumann
@Jemand Anderes I will post my Kinderszenen next week and will compose a new piano sycle dedicated to my Clara who left me 7 years ago.
❤️Super fantastic music 🎶🎹🌹😍💋
Simply outrageous!
Michiel Demarey may be concidered as one of the most sensible, complete as gifted piano players of the world of today.
Hopefully the time will be reversed backward early into your life by praize of many people early in life opposed to many artists whom became rewarded by recognition often most sadly very aponizingly after life.
Michiel is distincting himself from any mediocral player as being most gifted with a genial awareness as talent.
Herebye most gratefull as appreciated of sharing this incredible large as highly musical compositon by Robert Schuman.
with love
Johannes
Fantastic! What a wonderful pianist you are 🤩🎶
Kreisleriana is one of my favorite works of Robert Schumann, you played outstandingly!
blablBlBlaaa bla balaaalaabla
Michiel, thank you so much for brightening my day with this very accomplished, imaginative and daring interpretation. You have a very personal, compelling voice at the piano, and the rare gift to clearly see what is concealed in the score.
One of my favourite pieces of Schumann, filled with such a challenging emotions but an amazing piece and music. Congratulations!
how do more people not know of your recording... this is the best recording of this piece I have ever heard.
@nataliuisque probably because I live for the music not for fame or money. I need muse, a Clara but I don't have much luck in life and it is already difficult to take care of yourself when you hate yourself.
Do you like my Kinderszenen?
@nataliuisque I have recorded Chopin 4th Ballade. I hope you will like this too.
Agree, by far the best. This has kinda become my standard now, which really makes some others fade in comparison.
Wonderful melody brought out between 1:41 and 1:51... never heard before.
One of most beautiful Kreisleriana ever listened
@antonio carbonelli I have recorded Kinderszenen too. Hope you like it.
Best kreisleriana Ive heard, by far.
I keep listening here to this marvelous piano play..
Very beautiful, congratulations!
Great rendition, bravo Michiel!
What a breath of fresh air to hear your Kreisleriana! Your Schumann is revelatory!
You portray the shifting characters, voicing, dynamic variety, and vision beautifully.
I look forward to hearing you live and meeting you someday. In the meantime, I will enjoy your recordings here on your channel. 😊
Thank you very much for sharing your performance with us! 😄
let's meet
I live in Gent and still alive

Speechless.
From the most terrifying moments of obscurity guided into such intense moments of tenderness and delicacy.
A true journey into Schumann's world. Thank you.
Grazie mille for your heart warming comment. Feel free to share it.
Next recording is Schubert D960.
@@michieldpiano How happy I feel you allow me to share your breathtaking performances (all of them? On channels I follow?).
Did not dare, since so many listeners love pianists I just find boring, no inspiration, no presence, creativity zero, no soul, just empty virtuosity. Think I already made me some enemies...
@Micaela Bonetti do you have FB? It would be nice to connect. You can find me on my name. Best wishes for the new year.
@@michieldpiano Michiel, sorry, my messages fly away but are immediately made invisible!
Trying to send you my mail address without success, as I'm on no social platform.
Oh, and wish yours and your loved ones' desires become alive in this new year!
@@micaelabonetti949 my email is lisztfreak@gmail.com I have gone through hell lately: bad health father, corona, loneliness, depression, frustration. I am very afraid of the future. It is a good thing not be involved with social media. I was hacked and lost everything: music, contacts, videos, pictures, my pages. Yet it seems impossible to stop FB because it is the only way most people communicate now. Normally I would have given a concert in my hometown Ghent but I don't have any motivation anymore and at the moment culture is banned here because of covid. I hope you will have a good new year.
The most beautiful, complete and lived-in Kreisleriana ever ! Michiel Demarey moves us into Schumann's world, what a gifted genius pianist !
Thank you Michiel for guiding me to your recording. You are indeed gifted and tortured as well.
Beautiful, thank you for this masterpiece.
yes yes but not so beautiful as you are
Very nice 👏
Great! Very amazing 👍👏👏👏
Just crying. What more can I say?
Ontroerend mooi en Michiel 'en grande forme'. Zo fijngevoelig gespeeld.
Heel erg mooi, Michiel
wow, thank you
Bravo 👏
Bravo.
Wonderful!
Maravilhoso! Bravo!
11:27 Sehr aufgeregt (Very agitated)
This doesn't seem to be agitated and it's also too slow.
29:38 Same thing about last movement. It's supposed to be faster.
you are a wonderful artist. thanks for talking to me and good luck.
Thanks for listening to my recording of Kreisleriana. My life work.
I agree on the tempo of Sehr Aufgeregt but not on your comment about the agitation. It is agitated. If I would have played it faster than the finale would be too sloppy at prestissimo. The tempo for the last part is exactly how Robert Schumann gave it to me and is perfect.
@@michieldpiano well, I think Sigurd Slåttebrekk recording is the closest to my opinion. you can compare and see what I mean.
@@retf054ewte3 yes he understands it, much more intense and truthful than Cooper. Today I have been practicing it again because I will play it live in Antwerp. Kreisleriana is alife. I will give all I have. With mania and despair.
@@michieldpiano All the best. good luck
@@retf054ewte3 I hope I will survive it because my stage freight is extreme 😞

Unfortunately, many pianists endowed with immense talents have remained and will remain unknown (sometimes dying of hunger and playing 2 concerti for a fee of 200 or 300 euros) while pure technicians playing fast and loud but devoid of any musicality fill the large halls and gargle with the applause of an ignorant, uneducated, snobbish public, etc... The classical music scene is as rotten as the showbiz scene.
Is this amazing performance only on UA-cam or is it available elsewhere?
Only on UA-cam but I wanted it on Spotify with more Schumann (Carnaval, Waldszenen, Arabeske). Unfortunately my body is rejecting me and recording other Schumann seems impossible for now. I hope to transfer my soul, ideas, world for Carnaval via my best student Sehun Kim.
Bravo!
