When they where not capable of coming over anymore, they got hundreds of letters and drawing from school children. All of these heroes have now passed away. My era war - Vietnam - I try to picture Easy Company as our troops in Vietnan and what they also went through. I was in the Navy 1969-96 (3 active and 23 reserve) and was stationed on the east coast in the P-3 Orion squadrons (VP-49 & VP-62). Never saw combat but I honor and thank all of our Vietnam veterans...as I honor and thank all of our troops. It's a shame, since Korea, that the politicians get us into wars but won't let us fight them while they go on living in Martha's Gardens etc.

The British, US and Canadian forces that stormed those beaches faced intolerable odds and truly horrific conditions, but they endured and bought us freedom from tyranny at incredible cost! As did so many allied combattants from numerous other theatres of operation - Australians, NZ's, Indians, South Africans, and many others too numerous to mention. We owe them a debt of grattitude that can never be paid, but one we must continue to value and try to make ourselves worthy of, particularly in the face of the evil that still pervades this world. Currently there can be no more relevant a threat than the despot in the Kremlin! We will remember them and we must never relinquish our guard to allow such evil to profit again!

Sends shivers down the back . The hell they seen and lived through , only those who were there could understand . . A respect and all as one for each other . Described by spears is exactly right . The mindset as it has to be . . Winters , one of the most respectful decent people so humble and caring protective of his men . Total respect to all who served in all the allied forces around the world . . . Lest we shall forget . . .

Just watched this. Well done. Great job at how this was put together. Love that mini series. My father served in the South Pacific during WWII. I have tried to live my life with courage, honor, and the values given to me by my WWII parents. My mother helped the war effort building things. We stand on the shoulders of giants. They truly were the greatest generation. Let us never forget them. Salute from this veteran.

Yes it is true, they were best generation, and I'm very sad because we'll lose them. Money will destroy generations. If those heros would knew what it will be after 75 years, they wouldn't fight. We do not respect them enough. We do not respect soldiers enough, because we do not know how is to be in the war, how it to be hungry. God bless those heroes

I have watched this series so many times since it's release. When i first seen it it was on dvd and i watched 3 times in a row. Likeable characters, realistic (i think) war situations, horror, loneliness, comradeship, fear, shock. Such an astonishing account of people we just don't thank enough, no matter what country you are from.

I carried a piece of a parachute back to Normandy that my grandfather used when he jumped in the night before D-Day. I was at Omaha, taking a picture of the piece, before I headed to Carentan. Two Britts, who came ashore at Gold on D-Day, were there and recognized that it was part of a parachute and inquired about it. I told them the history of the piece of material. They cried, I cried, and they THANKED ME??? They actually thanked ME, for taking an interest and paying homage. They then met me in Carentan, where city officials made sure that my money was no good for the evening and the next day. No one would take my money for anything. Heroes made this happen. All I wanted to do was retrace some footsteps. My grandfather never spoke more than a paragraph about the war and had passed thirty years before I was able to see Normandy. I was fortunate enough to be able to ride the coat tails of other heroes who were happy to stand in his place. I’ll never be able to earn what they gave me.
