Tempest from Deftones
Trust me, you won't regret it.
It's from the Koi No Yokan album that no one listens to.
That album is a sleeper.
There's deep cuts on Diamond Eyes and the Ohms albums too.
Their singer Chino Moreno, has moments of brilliance that are blinding and often.
Problem is that people are sleeping on that band.
Try Tempest. You'll love it.
I'd Rather go blind.. Paulo does a awesome Cover of this .. Best Cover I have ever heard
I was happy that someone introduced you to this song. This is one of my top 20 favorite songs of all time.
The speaking section is from a Charlie Chaplin film called The Dictator, if i remember correctly. It was his first non silent film he created.
I would really like you to react to the Brazilian Gabriel Henrique singing Stand Up with the Black To Black choir. He is amazing.
#gabrielhenrique
You need to catch Paolo live that voice isnt just system manipulated.
Try a little listen to Luke Sital-Singh and Cairan Lavery.
Luke had been touring the US and at times with Cairan for opening.
Both astounding and chilled
Paolo Nutini, one of Scotland's National Treasures.💘
He's humanity patrimony 🔥
Paulo is a Scottish national treasure . The message is universal 🏴
This is so brilliant& everyone should know this song& video ❤🙏
Paolo Nutini’s Iron Sky (2014) was a powerful and haunting song when it was released, but a decade on, its message feels even more relevant, particularly in the context of Scotland’s unfulfilled push for independence and the state of the UK today.
In 2014, Scotland voted 55% to 45% against independence, with many swayed by promises of stability, EU membership, and economic security within the UK. Yet, ten years later, Brexit, austerity, political scandals, and a growing disconnect between Westminster and Holyrood have left many Scots feeling disillusioned. The promises of 2014 have largely crumbled-Scotland was dragged out of the EU against its will, UK politics are in turmoil, and the cost of living crisis has deepened inequalities.
Nutini’s Iron Sky, with its themes of oppression, control, and the fight for freedom, resonates deeply with those who feel increasingly trapped in a political system they did not vote for. The track samples Charlie Chaplin’s famous The Great Dictator speech, which calls for humanity to rise against tyranny-a message that could easily be applied to those frustrated by Westminster rule today.
As 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the referendum, the question remains: is Iron Sky a reminder of a missed opportunity, or a rallying cry for change? With support for independence still strong, and the UK in arguably worse shape than in 2014, many Scots may feel Nutini’s lyrics cut deeper than ever.
Omg. I am 73 years old. I love this. Certainly my kind of music. The voice, the horns, drums, the entirety. ❤❤
Same here, I'm 70 and this guy renews my faith in humans to rise above! (that's right...ol'folks are cool!)
@@101st_AB we were cool while most was still drooling. No disrect on the

@@bonniekertes8830 My friend, the truth is never disrespectful...🎼
@@bonniekertes8830 And I must add one more thing...Growing old, ain't for sissy's.
This is a wonderful live version. Also the video filmed in Eastern Europe which uses this song is incredibly moving. The song and this other video is as transfixing as this version and is rife with social commentary.
Man...finally! I have been advocating this number to every reaction channel I visit.
Adele called this the best live track she had heard. An amazing voice, terrific lyrics with meaning and a bunch of artists who were deep into their groove.
Perfection
@osimandus The first time I heard this was when Adele posted about it. I totally agree with your comment!
Paolo is an amazing talent. This song is up there with the best of them. He’s also a good guy. My brother worked as a roadie for years, he was working at a festival and Paolo came into the toilets while my brother was there, and he sang a Johnny Cash song to my brother, and asked if it was ok 😂 the guy is phenomenal!
Scotlands best singer ever in my eyes
100%
Rod Stewart, James Dewar, Dan Mcafferty, Jack Bruce and Annie Lennox aren't too shabby either I put it down to Iron Brew.
@@dooombringerrrFrankie Miller
@@dooombringerrrRod Stewart was born in England
@@allanfarran364My son was born in England try tell him he’s English.
The blood that courses through your veins determines your Nationality.
I’d give my left leg to be able to sing like Paolo.
This is recorded at the World famous Abbey Road studios in London.
It just so happens Adele is in the studio this day and she was told Paolo Nutini was there too, recording. She's behind the camera watching this brilliant performance and said this is the best performance she'd ever seen. Paolo is just class.
That’s just lies. She retweeted his video and tweeted it was the best thing she’d ever heard. A quick google search will tell you that rather than conjecture.
I'm convinced that if he were around in the 60s or 70s this song would now be considered a soul and r&b classic right up there with the likes of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke.
I've seen this video dozens of times and get chills every single time. This might be the greatest live performance ever IMHO.
OMG YES!!!!! Paolo is fantastic!! Italian/Scottish wonder!!! I’ve been loving him for a long time! So happy you enjoyed him as well!
discovered him about 10 years ago. good grief...
Scottish. He has Italian parents but he calls himself 100% Scottish.
@@jonnylumberjack6223 Italian grandparents
He was raised in Paisley in his mum and dad's fish and chip shop! Don't get any more Scottish than that! Lol Us Scots are very proud of wee Pablo!
Ottis and bob, brilliant! 😊
We all, as the human race should be longing and fighting for freedom.
This song makes me cry every single time I listen to it. A true masterpiece from a Scottish man of italian descent (I'm italian and proud of Paolo).
Thanks Polo for the excellent reaction ❤
The song has a revolutionary theme and is a very inspiring. That’s why you don’t hear it everywhere, it’s not promoting degeneracy.
A phenomenal singer and has been around for ages. Check it out.
Paulo is Scotland"s finest. A one-off musical wonder.
Bollocks he sat on the fence with Scottish independence fk him
I first heard him in concert as the opening act for Etta James. All I heard around me was wow!!!! Who is this guy. This song just showcases his talent.
Thank you for reacting to this, love from Scotland 🏴
Discovering Paolo is like stumbling across a literal angel.
Undoubtedly, one of the finest live performances committed to film.
Paolo is a phenomenal artist. He does things his way. Isn't interested in being the big celeb. He just puts his art out when he has something to express, hence the 8 year hiatus between albums. His latest album Last Night in the Bittersweet is a timeless classic. He could have so easily became an indie poster boy when he started but we should all be glad he walks his own path.
There are some wonderful live recordings from the Leon Loft, his rendition of his track Candy from the Isle of Wight Festival and his Jools Holland performances are well worth checking out. He also performed with an orchestra for Amazon, some of the videos were on youtube but some were taken down.
Perfect comment
Wow. Just terrific. And the singer- young, great looks, and a killer voice. Love the Charlie Chaplin bit too.
Brilliant.
Love Paolo Nutini!
My favourites: "Jenny Don't Be Hasty", "Candy", "Pencil Full Of Lead", "These Streets", "Last Request", "Rewind".
Don't forget the acoustic version of better man which is epic.
This is my first time hearing this song too. Just damn! The kids got some pipes on him!
Amazing song. Paolo nutini is a legend 🙌
"who's singing like that" Exactly!
Paolo is Scottish with a an old southern soul, listen to “no other way” or his version of “ I’d rather go blind” ❤❤❤
I’ve loved Paolo’s voice since I first heard him years ago. Autumn is one of my favorites.
we’re very proud of our wee laddie 🏴
Paolo is always best listened to live! Saw him a few times in Belfast & Dublin over the years. He’s magic! 😊
What's your thoughts on Cairan Lavery
I've been begging everyone to react to this!!!! Thank you, Polo!!❤❤❤
Have you listened to Luke Sital-Singh and Cairan Lavery??
Paulo has real soul. His singing and songwriting are fantastic. Any of his acoustic/live songs are great but I think you might like "No Other Way" live at the Leon Loft. He is astounding live. Glad you've found him. He doesn't like publicity and flies under the radar. Very underrated. The band (The Vipers) are outstanding too.
He’s been around for years occasionally takes some time off but always comes back to us with his beautiful and soulful, heartfelt music.
The 8 year hiatus was painful 😢
Glad you stumbled upon this masterpiece. It generally slips under the radar, so this was a pleasant surprise. Paolo has Italian heritage but he was born and raised in Scotland, so we have full claim over him! He also has a bunch of great songs for you to delve into.
Try No Other Way and Autumn Leaves. I absolutely LOVE Paolo Nutini!!! Everything he does is perfection. ❤ Thank you so much for listening.
I feel the same way about how have I missed this guy. And I think or thought I keep up on good music. I only found him last spring!❤ very moving dude!
Quality ! takes time for albums but no fillers all real great songs
Love paolo. I seen over a year go live in Glasgow. What a performer .been listening to him for many years ,you should react to acid eyes
This is one of my favorite songs. Glad u viewed it.
Finally!!!!!!! I was hoping you'd get to Paolo Nutini! Not a 'mainstream' artist but so freakin' amazing - and this song is beyond powerful. Once I got introduced to his music i was absolutely hooked. Even his 'covers' have been praised as better than the originals. You should check out his version of 'Gimme Shelter' (sanctioned by the Stones, by the way - used in a documentary created by Ben Affleck). And 'Candy' and 'Pencil Full of Lead' (with the Vipers) - such a diversity of music & styles!
Scream- Funk My Life Up- Official Acoustic, is a MUST listen. Love Paolo's music. ❤️
Paolo Nutini absolutely love his music, this is one of my favourites 😍
One of my faves. I've played it countless times and it still gives goosebumps.
I first heard Paolo Nutini play on the Ellen show years ago singing a song called "Candy" and loved the sound but never heard anything else. Thank you so much for sharing this video! Amazing!
Watch his id rather go blind rendition. Excellent Cover
You’re missing so much by not looking for his other songs.
A song has a hard time giving me chills in a very long time. This one hit the right spot. Never heard of this group.
Amazing reaction...its been ages since I last heard Paolo.. love his music 🎵 ..we was on tour at some point with Aimee Winehouse..
He is much older now than when this video was made and the version he sings these days is much deeper and has a lot more feeling.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
I absolutely love this song
Paolo Nutini is amazing I have been in love with this powerful song for years. I suggest you check "let me down easy" and his rendition of "freedom"
ive been listening to Paolo Nutini for years, well worth a deep dive, hes fantastic.
Awesome song!!! I haven’t heard Paolo Nutini in years, reminds me of good times. Definitely need to add to my music library 😊
Paolo is from Glasgow Scotland. This came out when Scotland was voting for our own Independence. With that in mind, listen to the lyrics again and watch the passion. Love from Sue, Glasgow. 🏴🏴🏴♥️♥️♥️
Paisley.
@@darthv1001 I just say Glasgow coz it's easier lol. X
He is not from Glasgow he is from Paisley
Polo --- this is an amazing song.
What an incredible voice. So much feeling, so much depth.
The horns bring up the already sick groove of the band
Paolo is from Scotland. He's amazing. You can also check out the voice uk winner Mo jamil doing a cover of this exact song .. does a great job . Happy days checking out more Paulo nutini .. got lots of great songs . Jay uk .
The last singer to sing with that level of authenticity, quality, depth, coloring and phrasing, applied to quality songwriting was Amy Winehouse.
No one living who’s come out in the last twenty years of Paolo’s age bracket can be likened to Paolo.
He crushes them all.
Perhaps someone underground is equal to Paolo, but no singer readily knowable.
I think Ren is close. He doesn't have as much grit in his voice, but his versatility and ability to sing any genre outshines anyone in that generation.
I regularly recommend Paolo when I'm watching reactions to Ren.
They both care about society and the world around them.
Wonderful artist and what a song!!
Great reaction man!
The spoken verse is Charlie Chaplin from the his 40s film 'The Great Dictator ' , still quite relevant today!!!....
Polo + Nutini = fire (song and reaction)
Up there with the best,,past and present
This song and performance sends shivers through me
Amazing song ! Love your videos ! New subscriber here!🙏🏻
Finally. I mention Paulo on one of the first reaction I saw with you. He is phenomenal and I'm lucky to have seen him live.
Your one word summed it up at the end. Beautiful.
Thank you forever!! My new favorite song!!!❤
Autumn leaves by Paolo! Its amazing!!
Never heard of Paolo Nutini before this. I agree. This is epic. When the horn section kicked in and the background singers, the build to those historical speeches. Then ends in a message of "Freedom reign on me." Wow! Or "rain" on me. Either. This was cool.
🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
My favourite song ever and my favourite performance. Paolo is incredible. Candy is another great song, New Shoes too.
My Paolo ❤ I’m obsessed with his voice. I’ve followed Paolo since he first started appearing on the Jools Holland show ( which you need to check out). I saw him perform live in Newcastle uk over 10 years ago before he took his 7 year break from performing. Thank god he’s back and even better! Do some research on this guy he’s incredible Ax
I just love to hear Paolo
Thank you for taking the time to react to one of my favourite songs ever. Paolo Nutini 🏴 deserves more recognition. Much love from the UK ❤️
I love Paolo, he's amazing. Check out one of his newer songs "Through the Echoes'. The live version is fantastic.
this is what music is all about...what it was made for and what it should continue to be...sadly its not the common anymore....
Paolo Nutini toured the US last year. We saw him in Boston. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. His newest album Last Night At The Bittersweet is great. Through The Echoes is a favorite. Thanks for the reaction.
I saw him live over 10 years ago in the uk, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to Ax
Oh you discovered him too ! I really like his voice
Paolo Nutini has been around a couple of decades and he is fantastic live
I have all his cds
His music is always worth waiting for last one being an 8 year gap but worth it 😉 🇬🇧
Discovered this artist by chance a few years ago. Outstanding!
Live acoustic video of both "funk my life up" and "let me know easy" are must listen to songs. Specifically the live acoustics versions.
Outstanding track 👌
Cool reaction to a brilliant artist born in same town as me. He has 4 albums, 3 went to no1 in the UK. His style is so varied. Check out lesser known songs like Worried Man, White Lies, Looking For Something, or his covers of Don't Let Me Down, Gimme Shelter and I'd Rather Go Blind.
What a message of faith
He did a great live acoustic version of his song Scream that i would recommend, his catalogue is full of gems.
Another great song by Paolo Nutini check out Scream.
WELCOME TO NUTINI´S WORLD!
He was everywhere here in Belgium when this came out.
Paolo is one of kind and this song should be on everyone’s “4 runner playlist” thanks for doing what you do Polo.
❤❤❤ amazing!!!! I absolutely love this song🤩
Many comments here talking about Gabriel Henrique singing Stand Up with the Black to Black choir. Please serve the people! Congratulations on the reaction! ❤🫶
Seen him live a few times at T in the Park. Excellent. A good Scottish laddie.
Beautifully well done !! Great Vocals......
Paolo's amazing. Long time fan here. If you want to explore further can recommend you check out No Other Way (live at the leon lounge), Better Man (official acoustic), Let me down easy (acoustic). Most recent stuff (after 8 years not making music): Everywhere (live in the bittersweet), Through the echoes (live in the bittersweet).
I seen him 5 times he is a legend
Total commitment to the song from everyone. Great singing. Great instrumentation.
Fantastic! Thank you for introducing me to a new artist and song. I have just added it to my playlist! Great job, Polo!
Yes, yes and YES! 💜 -x-
Paulo was huge in uk couple years before this, with his more poppy light hearted songs. I cant remember this song getting much air time at all, which is crazy
