Developed by renowned DJ Laidback Luke, Laidback Limiter is a multi-band pre-clipper and dual-stage brickwall limiter, perfect for maximizing the loudness of your tracks.
Dual-stage brickwall limiting with a twist
One of the industry secrets of mastering engineers around the globe is the process of pre-clipping, pre-processing a track’s transients with a clipper or saturator to create headroom for the final brickwall limiting stage. The Laidback Limiter makes this process easy, integrating a unique multiband clipper with perfect auto-gain. Combined with the final brickwall limiter, this makes the Laidback Limiter the perfect plugin to maximize the loudness of your tracks.
The Laidback Limiter features a unique multiband clipper with perfect auto-gain, letting you independently clip each of the four frequency bands with surgical precision, all while automatically retaining loudness and tonal balance. Plus, each clipper features an attack control to let transients through, a release control to smooth out the clipping distortion, and a stereo link control to shape the clipper’s behavior in the stereo field.
After pre-clipping, you can mix in the pre-clipped signal as it enters the maximize stage (the dry signal and clipped signal are perfectly phase-aligned internally to avoid any phase issues). You can then use the boost control to push your track into the plugin’s powerful brickwall limiter, increasing your track’s loudness. The maximize section offers lookahead, release, transients, knee, and ceiling controls to adjust the behavior of the brickwall limiter and reduce any limiting artifacts.

Introducing A Powerful NEW Mastering Plugin: The Laidback Limiter

I'm so excited to try this out. One of the parts I dread about making mashups is all of the mastering, and just getting the volumes *just* right. This should be the magic trick I need to finally speed up that process! Thank you for this Luke!
Have fun!
WoW this looks mint, on my master channels I have eq, then I use fab filter multi band to balance the mix then a dynamic eq then I use the glue to catch the peaks or sometimes I use a clipper then Render it for mastering… this looks mint because it seems to have all that in one plugin.. LEGENDARY ❤
Dope!
If you use this in Logic Pro you have to bounce your track down to one file then use Lukes limiter , it won't work on your file live with all your tracks so that maybe same problem with FL ?
I like it
This looks very useful for self masters!
It is!
Apparently this has an inbuilt LUFS meter, how do you make that visible?
Sound crushed in FL... Are this plugin for FL? I try so many time and the sound seem like gonna blow my speaker
turn on "use fixed sized buffers" in vst wrapper settings i had the same problem and it fixed it. Worth a shot.
If you know anything about mixing dance tunes to get loud Lufs youd know u can get -3 or even -2Luf masters (depending on track) from a single clipper on ur master chain
So excited for this! However, I've installed it like 3 times now into FL Studio and whether I'm at 0db, -6db, or -12db it sounds super crushed and distorted no matter what preset I'm using...Not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or just a bug?
actually same
I just tried it in ableton and it works perfect... FL seams bugged
Mine is the same on FL :/
same bro, gets super distorted and i tried 100 different things and its still bugged
Hey! I had the same ear bleeding noises problem and i went into the wrapper settings within Laidback Luke and turned on "use fixed size buffers" and it fixed the problem. sort of throw a dart at the wall blindfolded scenario. Let me know if it works for you or if you had the same fix.
I wonder if I can use this on my DJ mixes?
Go for it!
idk why but the plugin just destroys my audio? is there a way to fix this?
I turned on "use fixed size buffers" in the vst wrapper settings within Laidback Luke randomly and it fixed it for me.
But this is a game changer for us , so simple and far less complex than ozone 11 or fab filter plugins
Looks like the L2 finally has some competition after all these years.
Sonible>this
Wait, so does he send out his tracks to a pro to master them, or does he master them?? All these plugins are horseshit. EVERYONE has been using L2 and a compressor Forever, it's not a secret.
PLEASE HELP WITH FL USERS !!!!! THE PLUGIN SEEMS TO BE BUGGED FOR FL USERS. WE PUT IT ON AND IT DISTORTS /CRUSHES OR DOESN'T PRODUCE ANY SOUND AT ALL IN SOME CASES FOR SOME . PLEASE HELP IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS @RARRIREL
