Thank you for explaining the crossover in a way to easily understand. I have a AVIC 8500 NEX in my 2006 Nissan Titan Crew Cab. I changed out the factory speakers and added that small Pioneer powered subwoofer behind the backseat. I've never seriously adjusted the sound because I really didn't understand the crossover. But today I am going to go all in on adjusting it. Thanks for helping motivate me. Do you have any suggestions for me to get started with???
The loudness feature settings are designed to be gradually louder/clearer, specifically at lower volumes. Although it works for higher volumes also. I usually have mine set on the first or the 3 levels.

The unit comes with an external microphone with a mounting clip to place at your discretion somewhere in the vehicles cabin. It’s best to choose a spot and set it there. This will allow you to make sure when running the microphones wire back to the head unit that the wire is long enough to reach the head unit comfortably while hiding the wire from plain sight. Once plugged into the head unit you will now have an input point that will allow the end user to hear you. Bonus point: the microphone also acts as the head units “listening point” if you will, so you can not only use it as hands free for phone conversations, but to dictate to and use Siri as you would use on your iPhone, I.e. “hey siri” or “ok Google”; in addition the ability to use messaging hands free, I.e., her Siri, tell (contact) I’ll be there in 15min. It then uses your contacts to create the text message, repeats what you dictated to confirm that it hears you correctly, and if so, allows you to change the message or not, and once changed then asks you if you want to send the message or not. Again, works for all commands, I.e., “hey siri, play my drive to work playlist, or whats on my schedule today” it’s pretty awesome to have, think of it as an extension of your phone into the car via Apple carplay or android auto. Furthermore, every interaction hands free is also visual on the radio itself. Enjoy!
Installed the Pioneer AVIC -5201 NEX with a PAC PR5-GM31 . I have no sound coming from the rear. All the speaker wires are hooked up correctly. Cant figure it out.
I had an installer replaced the JL audio C3 5.25 rear passenger door speaker yesterday in my 2006 Duramax and now, suddenly, I'm getting no rear speaker sound from either of the rear door speakers -my 2 subs and front speakers are working and my head unit is a Pioneer AVIC-8400NEX. Why would I suddenly lose my rear door speakers sound? Thanks! The rear speaker setting is on.

I am thinking about putting one in my 2010 Camaro SS, and I do have a child that will be able to use the second zone/area for media control separate from the front. That is some pretty awesome hardware for a vehicle!! No one else does what Pioneer does though at any sort of reasonable price.
Are the EQ setting specific to a source or is it a universal setting? For example AM radio EQ would be much different from CD, does the EQ change when switching between the two automatically?

Make sure the subwoofer and the factory amplifier are compatible , if not bypass the factory amp and install your own anyhow, you will get better performance and sound customization options with an aftermarket amplifier IMO. Good luck and bass on..!!!

Back back up camera is locked active for back up . I have a 2660NEX, and can not find my mute button to reset this. Everything else is gone, and only the back up camera screen is on.
My sound will not play through the tweeters and door speakers. Everything else on it works fine. My mechanic said that the head unit's audio output is broken. Is there a way to repair it or should I just buy a new unit?
How do you turn down the nav volume on the 8200nex? If I'm using nav while playing music the turn by turn directions are so loud (the music level is not loud when this happens) I can't or don't want to use the decks nav and am forced to use Apple maps instead.
On the Navigation screen there are 4 lines on the right- touch it - goto settings-scroll down to the sound settings. You can find more information on page 50 of the owners manual.
hey I have the 4200. I was wondering if it's supposed to make the speaker better. Def clearer but the bass is not what it was when I had an old alpine in. now the speakers are stock in a 2000 civic but still had some bass. now it sounds bad. mind you when I turn it up they sound blown but it's weird cause the other radio had the speaker bass decent. wondering if maybe the Pioneer is to much for these old stock speakers. or if the Pioneer is possibly messed up? thanks guys. It is a universal setting. If you would like source tone adjust Chaco out Kenwood.

Turn on the subwoofer on the radio

That sounds odd, I would remove the radio and test the white and gray pair of speaker wires with a test speaker.

Believe it or not none of the NEX models have Network mode.
