I've never had any of the issues that can make others steer away from Colors Ultimate and go to the Dolphin Emulator. I'm still hoping that Blind Squirrel fixes everything, though I'm not holding my breath out for it. 🤷♂️
I think there's a lesson to learn here. All these failed games taught me to never get my hopes too high up. When I saw that the gta trilogy is getting a remaster, i already knew something was gonna go wrong (gut feeling), and i was right
I love the OG Sonic Colors, that game gets to much hate but Sonic Colors Ultimate just goes to show fu*ked up the Gaming Industry is. While it's meh it's no where near as bad as Warcraft III: Reforged, seriously the people over at Activision-Blizzard where drunk when They remastered Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne that They delisted OG Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne just so People can play Warcraft III: Reforged. Same with the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition and how the OG Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and how 2 Take told Rockstar to Delist those game to make way for the Remaster. Super Mario All-Stars on the SNES is a remaster and back then they where a given now it's just capitalizing on Nostalgia that Remasters need to stop. Keep in mind that Blind Squirrel Games made WWE 2K on Nintendo Switch (and that was bad) that I hope Nintendo, Sega-Altus, Capcom, Bandai-Namco, Square-Enix, Microsoft, SNK Corp, Koei Techmo and Valve don't use Blind Squirrel Games to make Remasters of Their games (but Konami, EA, Take 2 Interactive and Ubisoft might use them for like a Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster, Madden 09 Remaster, GTA 4 Remaster, Borderland 2 Remaster and a Rayman Ravin Rabbids Remaster BC fu*k Konami, EA, Take 2 Interactive and Ubisoft suck)
The best Remaster (I think it's close enough to a remaster) is Mass Effect Legendary Edition All the games run great from what I know, and it's amazingly priced, $60 for 3 Xbox 360 games, with all of the mountain loads of DLC included, perfection
I almost forgot it even existed. I don't have enough cash to just throw out anymore(Otherwise I would have Metroid Dread by now and wouldn't have gotten spoilered, lol), so it almost passed me by. It's also the least noteworthy of the "retro"-releases between all the Zeldaremakes/remasters that started last decade and basically killed all hope for another WWHD/OOT3D-type of thing.
I want to like this game, but when I was playing it, the game made me skip the cutscenes because of how cringy they are and I had to force myself to go through the levels, ranks and red rings be damned, just to justify my purchase. Even Sonic 06 was more fun for me,and I didn't have to force myself to go through the levels but I actually did it out of genuine curiosity, even if that game too made me skip the ranks and collectibles. But Sonic Colors... with sonic colors I didn't even have fun b-lining it straight to the end. I've reinstalled it yesterday, thinking that with the passing of the release outrage, I'd enjoy it more with less bias, but no, I couldn't even play through the first area (Tropical Resort), it was that boring.
@@Hynotama personally idc about story or writing when it comes to games. Gameplay in my opinion comes first and foremost and i do like sonic colours' gameplay. know this becuase i'm a die hard monster hunter fan (has 0 story but god tier gameplay imo). But you have your opinion so you do you :)
As someone who platinumed the game on PS4 my main issues: 1. The fact that laser is too dull to where you can't see where you're aiming half the time 2. Music cuts out when you use the wisps ALL THE TIME 3. The load times are so long that the music doesn't line up with the levels like it did in the Wii version unless you pause and restart the level 4. Laggy options menu 5. The awful sound mixing where you either can't hear the music because the sound effects are too loud and the warped sound thing Honestly I never experienced that frame rate issue, but the issues I experienced didn't break the game, just gave it a sense of it being way more unpolished than the Wii version
Sega just doesn't care about Sonic anymore. If they did care, they would have at least delayed it a little more, or have at least got this game updated. But they didn't. They just crap out something bad and call it a day.

I feel like I’m going into this blind. I’ve only played the DS version of Colors, and only watched a Let’sPlay of the Wii version. But I’m still gonna buy Colors Ultimate on Switch and judge it for myself. And I think I’m gonna have fun with it, so yeah
I get people's frustration and I refuse to support Forces snd Colours Ultimate but... If you still bought the game, you're kinda part of the problem. I know sega will spin it so they think "oh no one bought it, guess they don't want remasters" but then again I think if people were loud enough about the fact that if it was actually a good product that was free seizure glitchs and such then people would have bought it. But people did buy it. Enough people anyway. Sega got their money, why should they improve. They can put out anything that's part of the Sonic brand and people will buy it.
I liked episode Shadow which I couldn't have played without Forces, so I will take that bullet with a smile(Even tho I wanna see that game burn too). I will have to say tho that part of the audience for Colors Ultimate was people who didn't like the original and wanted to give a refined version a shot. It feels unfair to be judged when people are constantly reminding to "play the game again if you didn't like it, you probably not remembering it right".(Which is also ironic considering many of them claim SA2-fans to be obnoxious.)
@@lpfan4491 yeah, I went back and actually played through sa2 fully a few years ago and whilst I did kinda enjoy the general experience, it just wasn't like I remembered from when I was a kid. I think going back to these games years later can be really learning experiences. I never quite got on with heroes or shadow when I first played them but going back to beat years later I now say their easily two of my favorites in the series.

one good thing came out of this: sonic unleashed haters are now going back to the game now that it has the 60 fps patch and are finally realizing how good unleashed actually is. I always prefered unleashed over colors so this makes me happy.

I played this game on my switch and I found out that I can’t 100% it because everytime I beat metal sonic in a rival race in starlight carnival and pressed next on the results it closes me out of the game

Thanks for telling me this. Don't get me wrong, I love Sonic and he will always be my favorite but it's kind of pointless to play a game if it's broken. Worst part is I can't get my money back so Sonic is basically stuck with me. I'm not rushing or stressing it so many other games out there. Maybe somewhere between 2023 to 2026 Sonic colors would be fully fixed and energized.
I loved Colors Ultimate. My experience was amazing and it feels that I'm playing another Sonic Colors ver. But yeah, It has got some low quality stuff. Blindsqirrel did one of the most disappointing remasters.
It hurts seeing my beloved childhood game getting the worst remaster imaginable. I’ve replayed Colours on the wii so much in my childhood (probably around 50 hours on my profile) and have recently tried out Colours Ultimate. I can say it was depressing. Things like graphical issues (not like the switchs version tho) audio issues (sound effects for collectabke items wouldn’t play, the stage clear music wouldn’t play, sound effects for the environment or enemies would be so freaking loud in my headphones for absolutely no reason), pre rendered cutscenes somehow cant run at a stable rate, the game no longer runs at a stable frame rate like the wii could, lazer wisps aim line is way too dim for some reason, loading is slower, and so on. I could rant all day about the issues with this remaster but its just too much. To this day i stick to the wii version til the day time ends and recommend people who want to get into Sonic Colours to just play the original version if you can, whether it be through dolphin emulation or just the wii console itself. It is NOT worth the $40 for this garbage of a remaster.
I know this isnt 100% related ,but I feel like if there's a template for how remasters should be handled it would be the recent Quake remaster which came out this year as well. They got Quake which was already good on its own and just made it better. The graphics are extremley customizable so you could customize it in a way that fits what you desire. They re opened multiplayer servers, which have been extremley inaccessible due to the games age, and that re accessability allowed you to experience which was one of the most influential online multiplayers, heck I played with people who have been playing since the 90s. The game came packaged with every expansion pack which has been released for Quake alongside adding a new expansion pack which might as well be its own game, and all of that just for $10. Not to mention if you owned the game on Steam prior to the remaster's release, you basically get the remastered version for free as an update. Knowing your channel Im not sure how you feel about Quake or even know what it is, and Im not encouraging you to buy that game because all your purchases depend on you ,but what I was saying is that its sad that remasters are failing to live up to expectations and the reason why I brought up the Quake remaster is because that remaster showed me that remaster can be a lot more than just a cheap way to sell games but rather a celebration of that game, one thats not only faithful to the game but also improves it at its core.
You missed one thing. Both remasters were made by a another studio, meaning Sega and Rockstar both outsourced their remasters to these companies. I think the true thing we should take away from this is these big name game companies need to stop outsourcing their remasters to these random no-name companies. Make your remasters in-house next time Sega/Rockstar, stop handing it to these new companies that aren't even good at their job.
@Pink Morales If only ILCA kept the ability to get held items like Razor Fang early game in so that a whole evolution wasn't locked behind post game. Other than that forced exp share has not made the game a cakewalk like i feared and Roark's cranidos actually kicked my butt. It hasn't been a walk in the park so far and it seems the ai's are slowly being programmed to do actual competitive strats too. I wonder what next gen will be like given how they seem to be updating the ai of the trainers you face and such. I never thought i would see trainers and wild mons set up toxic spikes and all the other hazzards that people use in comp. I have even been poison stalled by a team galactic member. BDSP is awesome but it took some steps back from platinum when it came to some QOL features and changes.
YES THANK YOU. U actually understand that it wasnt Segas fault this time. The thing with Sega is that they were busy with Frontiers, so they gave it to another dev so Frontiers wouldnt be screwed over and that dev made the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, so Sega thought they could handle Sonic. Sega legit LET BSG CHOOSE THE STINKIN release date and yet, Sega couldn't even see the state the game was in before it was too late, Im honestly tired of ppl blaming Sega for this when it was clearly BSG. It's Blind Squirrel, the same guys behind the _still-buggy_ BioShock and Borderlands remasters. Employee reviews also mention issues with the company (look up Unleash's "Disgusting Sonic Colours Ultimate Development Details Found" video). I have a feeling it would most likely be fixed by modders than by BS (no pun intended). It's worth pointing out that the GTA Trilogy remasters were made by Grove Street Games, not Rockstar, tho Rockstar as the publisher isn't blameless just like Sega isn't blameless for BS's screw-up.
At this point not only do I believe that Sonic Unleashed isnt getting a port like sonic colors, but now I don't even believe that the team is even able to make anything better than the original :/ (Frame rate might get fixed and the homing attack may so that they can get a pass)
Plottwist: It does come out, but it neither addresses the bad pacing of the werehog, nor the gameplay-issues people had with the daystages.(And yes, some people have issues with the controls and physics being too impercise. I never got to play it, so I have no idea if I am one of them.)
Yakuza 3 remastered is my definition of a perfect remaster. It runs better than the original, fixed issues (localization), better graphics and it's cheap.

At least we're (Apparently) getting an Unleashed port on Microsoft plaforms but yeah as someone who has little interest in GTA that footage looks cursed AF (I know it's videogame logic but the character models just look so wrong... :0). Until folks (Aka the lowest common denominator) stop allowing companies to get away with the "paid now, fix later" mentality that plagues the videogame industry, I highly doubt general standards will improve tbh (Especially with certain remasters). It seems developers that are the outliers (I.e: Maintains high standards while valuing the feedback of their customers and being transparent) are the only ones with any integrity left in the industry these days.

Xbox just got a patch that fixed the audio mixing, things aren't super loud and sound effects don't bounce back and forth anymore, some sound effects can still cut out though.
I thought all the stuttering was just the recording until you said that's IN THE GAME. This is straight up broken. You can't have a game about fast-pased reactions with that crap
I've been playing the game for the past month ever since the game released and I have yet to run into any glitches or brokenness. I'm actually slightly convinced that all of those videos that people have been making about the game saying that it was filled with glitches were fake in order to get people to not play the game and before all of you people say that I was just lucky, I don't consider it luck. Say what you guys want about Sonic Colors Ultimate but nothing will get me to hate the game. I mean it's just a remake of an awesome game, what more do you people want? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The game has issues. Even with patches. The game froze on me twice, and I glitched out of stage. Of course, this is just 3 times, on the weakest hardware the game was released on(Switch).
It's because of sales. People aren't that into Colors on a massive scale, there is some people on the internet who like colors sure. But in reality most people aren't buying it because the game isn't that popular in the series. It's a small but very vocal group of kids that grew up with it on their wii but its just that.... the majority of sonic's fans were too old to enjoy colors fully. It was made strictly for small kids of the time. So outside of the younger Sonic fans, well? sucks for the ones who liked the game but they aren't 90 percent of the sonic customers. Most of the people from that age group play call of duty, fortnite... sure their is some exceptions, look in your comment section to see that.....but still... Whats the point in releasing patches to so few people who care about the game? it's not a priority to Sega. It should've sold better for that....... Sonic Unleashed has people freaking out over it and it's just a backwards compatibility fps patch on the xbox platform only. Maybe Sega should've released it across all platforms instead of bringing colors to all platforms, but why didn't they? simple.. Sonic Unleashed would've took a LOT more work than bring colors to modern platforms. The Colors port was a cheap way to gather some cash without using much resources. Thats why it was given to Blind Squirrel in the first place, everyone including Sega knew their past but they come cheap due to it. Blind Squirrel was desperate for any job.. and why's there no new patches? because they aren't gonna spend a dime more on something that is so niche. It didnt sell enough for that and they knew the sales wouldn't be high enough to justify patches from the start... time to move on.

Y'know, I still haven't played Colors Ultimate because I don't want to buy a copy and support this mess, so I don't really know much about the remaster aside from a few comparisons I made watching videos and my original Wii Colors, and one thing that bothered me a lot, was how the rings were glowing red in the remaster, and watching this video, I noticed 1:41 and thought "huh? Did they fix the rings' color or is it just a mod?" but immediately after that, those weird rings were back. Such an weird thing, was this intentional or not? This game doesn't make sense
On the Switch version, if you set the sound settings on the system to Mono, the sound no longer bounces from one earphone to another when playing Colors Ultimate with earphones or headphones. Other than that, this remaster is still full of technical issues and idiotic design choices. It's just pathetic how both Colors Ultimate and the GTA Trilogy ended up being extremely flawed and horribly optimized remasters.

@@skullerclawerbandicoot7966 Yeah, I heard that Blind Squirrel Games' management was also very terrible and certain developers were tasked with making Colors Ultimate despite being very incompetent at their job hence the poor optimization across all consoles and the horrific design choices that were made when making the game. If you ask me, Sega also deserves some degree of blame in this in terms of not doing their research and hiring a more competent porting developer team. Panic Button immediately comes to mind and they have an excellent track record. Blind Squirrel Games, on the other hand, had that godawful WWE 2K18 Switch port, which was practically unplayable. In the end, I think both Sega and Blind Squirrel Games played a part in Colors Ultimate's development hell.

Basically theres a patch for Japan that actually fix the audio issues and Egg Pawns falling speed. It's still not available for anywhere else for some confusing reason. Doesn't fix the other issues unfortunately.

I'm sorry, but I must force myself to disagree with this video. I've always dreamed of playing the original Colors on the Wii, but I was never able get my hands on the console. Now that I finally get to experience the mind-blowing experience that Colors brings through Colors Ultimate is astounding. I have gotten my hands and the Xbox One S and Switch versions and had very little problems with both copies. I know that I'm posting this way after this video, the patches, and the game itself released. If you don't like the game, I guess I can understand, but I can't agree with you.
Warcraft 3 refunded, why does this shit keep happenin. Somehow 3d-all star seems to have done the best by just having it run roms on a cheap emulator. age of empires 2 had a really good remaster and it probably was instrumental in AOE4 being made.
I still only actually played it once close to launch, got everything and didn't get 100% only because that would have required me grinding hard for tokens. I like it more than the original and would find it mighty nice if it got fixed already(It's only 2 months? Feels like half a year), but I still can't see where the praise came from, besides "it's not dark age, me hate dark age". I can still literally grab Unwiished on a completed savefile to ignore the overhated nighthog and get the superior Wii-boost experience, even if it's less pretty of a game without some tinkering. And well, I noticed a lot of minor things about this game while almost-100% that I really don't like. For example that the redundant quickstep-level in Planet Wisp(I think it was act 5 or 6) is machspeed...for absolutely no reason. I guess this was meant as "the challenge" when it was designed as an Unwiished-like mission-stage originally, but it's just annoying when it's treated as a proper stage, because I have to collect Red Rings for completion instead of just beating it. And when not collecting anything, it's not even hard, as I didn't even notice it originally. Also, a while ago, a doublepack of IndirectSound(Older and appearently obsolete version of 3D surround sound) and Xbox-quality media were released on Gamebanana and a lot of the same complaints as Colors Ultimate came up. Soundeffects play at random volumes, sometimes don't play properly, sometimes the location of the sound is bugged, etc. So I think that essencially makes it 99% likely they actually DID cause the mess by trying to implement more advanced audio, but either couldn't get it to work or didn't have enough time. Or they were just stupid, because stuff like the announcervoices or checkpoints should have been global sounds that always play on a higher internal priority than the used surround sound-system.
This game is so terribly optimized, that both Super Mario Galaxy from 3D All Stars and Zelda Skyward sword hd, boty being wii games, both run at 1080p 60fps, and sonic colors with a graphic improvement run at 900p and 30fps on switch bruh

While it's meh it's no where near as bad as Warcraft III: Reforged, seriously the people over at Activision-Blizzard where drunk when They remastered Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne that They delisted OG Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne just so People can play Warcraft III: Reforged.
Same with the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Definitive Edition and how the OG Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and how 2 Take told Rockstar to Delist those game to make way for the Remaster. Super Mario All-Stars on the SNES is a remaster and back then they where a given now it's just capitalizing on Nostalgia that Remasters need to stop.
Keep in mind that Blind Squirrel Games made WWE 2K on Nintendo Switch (and that was bad) that I hope Nintendo, Sega-Altus, Capcom, Bandai-Namco, Square-Enix, Microsoft, SNK Corp, Koei Techmo and Valve don't use Blind Squirrel Games to make Remasters of Their games (but Konami, EA, Take 2 Interactive and Ubisoft might use them for like a Metal Gear Solid 4 remaster, Madden 09 Remaster, GTA 4 Remaster, Borderland 2 Remaster and a Rayman Ravin Rabbids Remaster BC fu*k Konami, EA, Take 2 Interactive and Ubisoft suck)
The best Remaster (I think it's close enough to a remaster) is Mass Effect Legendary Edition
All the games run great from what I know, and it's amazingly priced, $60 for 3 Xbox 360 games, with all of the mountain loads of DLC included, perfection

Honestly, I forgot Skyward Sword came out this year. It felt like a last year thing
I almost forgot it even existed. I don't have enough cash to just throw out anymore(Otherwise I would have Metroid Dread by now and wouldn't have gotten spoilered, lol), so it almost passed me by. It's also the least noteworthy of the "retro"-releases between all the Zeldaremakes/remasters that started last decade and basically killed all hope for another WWHD/OOT3D-type of thing.

I want to like this game, but when I was playing it, the game made me skip the cutscenes because of how cringy they are and I had to force myself to go through the levels, ranks and red rings be damned, just to justify my purchase. Even Sonic 06 was more fun for me,and I didn't have to force myself to go through the levels but I actually did it out of genuine curiosity, even if that game too made me skip the ranks and collectibles. But Sonic Colors... with sonic colors I didn't even have fun b-lining it straight to the end. I've reinstalled it yesterday, thinking that with the passing of the release outrage, I'd enjoy it more with less bias, but no, I couldn't even play through the first area (Tropical Resort), it was that boring.
I only skipped the cutscenes cuz I already have the original. With the exception of that CGI ending tho

As someone who platinumed the game on PS4 my main issues:
1. The fact that laser is too dull to where you can't see where you're aiming half the time
2. Music cuts out when you use the wisps ALL THE TIME
3. The load times are so long that the music doesn't line up with the levels like it did in the Wii version unless you pause and restart the level
4. Laggy options menu
5. The awful sound mixing where you either can't hear the music because the sound effects are too loud and the warped sound thing
Honestly I never experienced that frame rate issue, but the issues I experienced didn't break the game, just gave it a sense of it being way more unpolished than the Wii version
Sega just doesn't care about Sonic anymore. If they did care, they would have at least delayed it a little more, or have at least got this game updated. But they didn't. They just crap out something bad and call it a day.

I get people's frustration and I refuse to support Forces snd Colours Ultimate but... If you still bought the game, you're kinda part of the problem. I know sega will spin it so they think "oh no one bought it, guess they don't want remasters" but then again I think if people were loud enough about the fact that if it was actually a good product that was free seizure glitchs and such then people would have bought it.
But people did buy it. Enough people anyway. Sega got their money, why should they improve. They can put out anything that's part of the Sonic brand and people will buy it.
I liked episode Shadow which I couldn't have played without Forces, so I will take that bullet with a smile(Even tho I wanna see that game burn too). I will have to say tho that part of the audience for Colors Ultimate was people who didn't like the original and wanted to give a refined version a shot. It feels unfair to be judged when people are constantly reminding to "play the game again if you didn't like it, you probably not remembering it right".(Which is also ironic considering many of them claim SA2-fans to be obnoxious.)
@@lpfan4491 yeah, I went back and actually played through sa2 fully a few years ago and whilst I did kinda enjoy the general experience, it just wasn't like I remembered from when I was a kid. I think going back to these games years later can be really learning experiences. I never quite got on with heroes or shadow when I first played them but going back to beat years later I now say their easily two of my favorites in the series.

Thanks for telling me this. Don't get me wrong, I love Sonic and he will always be my favorite but it's kind of pointless to play a game if it's broken. Worst part is I can't get my money back so Sonic is basically stuck with me. I'm not rushing or stressing it so many other games out there. Maybe somewhere between 2023 to 2026 Sonic colors would be fully fixed and energized.
I loved Colors Ultimate. My experience was amazing and it feels that I'm playing another Sonic Colors ver. But yeah, It has got some low quality stuff. Blindsqirrel did one of the most disappointing remasters.
It hurts seeing my beloved childhood game getting the worst remaster imaginable. I’ve replayed Colours on the wii so much in my childhood (probably around 50 hours on my profile) and have recently tried out Colours Ultimate. I can say it was depressing. Things like graphical issues (not like the switchs version tho) audio issues (sound effects for collectabke items wouldn’t play, the stage clear music wouldn’t play, sound effects for the environment or enemies would be so freaking loud in my headphones for absolutely no reason), pre rendered cutscenes somehow cant run at a stable rate, the game no longer runs at a stable frame rate like the wii could, lazer wisps aim line is way too dim for some reason, loading is slower, and so on. I could rant all day about the issues with this remaster but its just too much. To this day i stick to the wii version til the day time ends and recommend people who want to get into Sonic Colours to just play the original version if you can, whether it be through dolphin emulation or just the wii console itself. It is NOT worth the $40 for this garbage of a remaster.
Any port of an older game should never get a pass in a review. There is no excuse for breaking a game that was playable on weaker hardware.

I know this isnt 100% related ,but I feel like if there's a template for how remasters should be handled it would be the recent Quake remaster which came out this year as well. They got Quake which was already good on its own and just made it better. The graphics are extremley customizable so you could customize it in a way that fits what you desire. They re opened multiplayer servers, which have been extremley inaccessible due to the games age, and that re accessability allowed you to experience which was one of the most influential online multiplayers, heck I played with people who have been playing since the 90s. The game came packaged with every expansion pack which has been released for Quake alongside adding a new expansion pack which might as well be its own game, and all of that just for $10. Not to mention if you owned the game on Steam prior to the remaster's release, you basically get the remastered version for free as an update.
Knowing your channel Im not sure how you feel about Quake or even know what it is, and Im not encouraging you to buy that game because all your purchases depend on you ,but what I was saying is that its sad that remasters are failing to live up to expectations and the reason why I brought up the Quake remaster is because that remaster showed me that remaster can be a lot more than just a cheap way to sell games but rather a celebration of that game, one thats not only faithful to the game but also improves it at its core.
You missed one thing. Both remasters were made by a another studio, meaning Sega and Rockstar both outsourced their remasters to these companies. I think the true thing we should take away from this is these big name game companies need to stop outsourcing their remasters to these random no-name companies. Make your remasters in-house next time Sega/Rockstar, stop handing it to these new companies that aren't even good at their job.
@Pink Morales If only ILCA kept the ability to get held items like Razor Fang early game in so that a whole evolution wasn't locked behind post game. Other than that forced exp share has not made the game a cakewalk like i feared and Roark's cranidos actually kicked my butt. It hasn't been a walk in the park so far and it seems the ai's are slowly being programmed to do actual competitive strats too. I wonder what next gen will be like given how they seem to be updating the ai of the trainers you face and such. I never thought i would see trainers and wild mons set up toxic spikes and all the other hazzards that people use in comp. I have even been poison stalled by a team galactic member. BDSP is awesome but it took some steps back from platinum when it came to some QOL features and changes.
YES THANK YOU. U actually understand that it wasnt Segas fault this time. The thing with Sega is that they were busy with Frontiers, so they gave it to another dev so Frontiers wouldnt be screwed over and that dev made the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, so Sega thought they could handle Sonic. Sega legit LET BSG CHOOSE THE STINKIN release date and yet, Sega couldn't even see the state the game was in before it was too late, Im honestly tired of ppl blaming Sega for this when it was clearly BSG. For R*, it was stupid they gave it to the guys that made the mobile ports of III, VC & SA, at least with Sega, they gave it to ppl that made a great remaster

I'll be honest, I thought something was wrong with the script I'm running to automatically set UA-cam videos to the highest quality, because I saw all the frame spikes in the video. Then I reached 3:25 and, well, it speaks for itself

I didn’t know the Xbox One version had framerate spikes. When I did a playthrough the game on PS4 and PS5, the framerate stays pretty stable. Odd.

It's Blind Squirrel, the same guys behind the _still-buggy_ BioShock and Borderlands remasters. Employee reviews also mention issues with the company (look up Unleash's "Disgusting Sonic Colours Ultimate Development Details Found" video). I have a feeling it would most likely be fixed by modders than by BS (no pun intended).
It's worth pointing out that the GTA Trilogy remasters were made by Grove Street Games, not Rockstar, tho Rockstar as the publisher isn't blameless just like Sega isn't blameless for BS's screw-up.
At this point not only do I believe that Sonic Unleashed isnt getting a port like sonic colors, but now I don't even
believe that the team is even able to make anything better than the original :/ (Frame rate might get fixed and the homing attack may so that they can get a pass)
Plottwist: It does come out, but it neither addresses the bad pacing of the werehog, nor the gameplay-issues people had with the daystages.(And yes, some people have issues with the controls and physics being too impercise. I never got to play it, so I have no idea if I am one of them.)
Yakuza 3 remastered is my definition of a perfect remaster. It runs better than the original, fixed issues (localization), better graphics and it's cheap.
Ryu ga Gotoku 1&2 HD on PS3 (Japan only) have improved on damn near everything from the originals and for my money it's more worth it than Kiwami/K2.

Xbox just got a patch that fixed the audio mixing, things aren't super loud and sound effects don't bounce back and forth anymore, some sound effects can still cut out though.

I've been playing the game for the past month ever since the game released and I have yet to run into any glitches or brokenness. I'm actually slightly convinced that all of those videos that people have been making about the game saying that it was filled with glitches were fake in order to get people to not play the game and before all of you people say that I was just lucky, I don't consider it luck. Say what you guys want about Sonic Colors Ultimate but nothing will get me to hate the game. I mean it's just a remake of an awesome game, what more do you people want? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The game has issues. Even with patches. The game froze on me twice, and I glitched out of stage. Of course, this is just 3 times, on the weakest hardware the game was released on(Switch).
It's because of sales. People aren't that into Colors on a massive scale, there is some people on the internet who like colors sure. But in reality most people aren't buying it because the game isn't that popular in the series. It's a small but very vocal group of kids that grew up with it on their wii but its just that.... the majority of sonic's fans were too old to enjoy colors fully. It was made strictly for small kids of the time. So outside of the younger Sonic fans, well? sucks for the ones who liked the game but they aren't 90 percent of the sonic customers. Most of the people from that age group play call of duty, fortnite... sure their is some exceptions, look in your comment section to see that.....but still... Whats the point in releasing patches to so few people who care about the game? it's not a priority to Sega. It should've sold better for that....... Sonic Unleashed has people freaking out over it and it's just a backwards compatibility fps patch on the xbox platform only. Maybe Sega should've released it across all platforms instead of bringing colors to all platforms, but why didn't they? simple.. Sonic Unleashed would've took a LOT more work than bring colors to modern platforms. The Colors port was a cheap way to gather some cash without using much resources. Thats why it was given to Blind Squirrel in the first place, everyone including Sega knew their past but they come cheap due to it. Blind Squirrel was desperate for any job.. and why's there no new patches? because they aren't gonna spend a dime more on something that is so niche. It didnt sell enough for that and they knew the sales wouldn't be high enough to justify patches from the start... time to move on.

My gut tells me based off rumors/leaks it'll be that Sonic game we've been wanting again for so long, the one we wanted to be the successor to Unleashed. Generations was fun too but far too short and it held your hand a little too much!... come on Sega lets go back to Sonic for the core audience. :)

One good remaster that I know apart from the one you mentioned is Spider-Man Remastered for PS5 by Insomniac Games.
Y'know, I still haven't played Colors Ultimate because I don't want to buy a copy and support this mess, so I don't really know much about the remaster aside from a few comparisons I made watching videos and my original Wii Colors, and one thing that bothered me a lot, was how the rings were glowing red in the remaster, and watching this video, I noticed 1:41 and thought "huh? Did they fix the rings' color or is it just a mod?" but immediately after that, those weird rings were back. Such an weird thing, was this intentional or not? This game doesn't make sense

On the Switch version, if you set the sound settings on the system to Mono, the sound no longer bounces from one earphone to another when playing Colors Ultimate with earphones or headphones. Other than that, this remaster is still full of technical issues and idiotic design choices. It's just pathetic how both Colors Ultimate and the GTA Trilogy ended up being extremely flawed and horribly optimized remasters.
Blame Blind Squirrel for being a terrible company. Sega legit let them decide the release date, yet BSG still screwed up and Sega couldnt even look at the state of the stupid game before it was too late. I feel like ppl need to be more aware how game development works
@@skullerclawerbandicoot7966 Yeah, I heard that Blind Squirrel Games' management was also very terrible and certain developers were tasked with making Colors Ultimate despite being very incompetent at their job hence the poor optimization across all consoles and the horrific design choices that were made when making the game. If you ask me, Sega also deserves some degree of blame in this in terms of not doing their research and hiring a more competent porting developer team. Panic Button immediately comes to mind and they have an excellent track record. Blind Squirrel Games, on the other hand, had that godawful WWE 2K18 Switch port, which was practically unplayable. In the end, I think both Sega and Blind Squirrel Games played a part in Colors Ultimate's development hell.

I'm sorry, but I must force myself to disagree with this video. I've always dreamed of playing the original Colors on the Wii, but I was never able get my hands on the console. Now that I finally get to experience the mind-blowing experience that Colors brings through Colors Ultimate is astounding. I have gotten my hands and the Xbox One S and Switch versions and had very little problems with both copies. I know that I'm posting this way after this video, the patches, and the game itself released. If you don't like the game, I guess I can understand, but I can't agree with you.

Warcraft 3 refunded, why does this shit keep happenin. Somehow 3d-all star seems to have done the best by just having it run roms on a cheap emulator.
age of empires 2 had a really good remaster and it probably was instrumental in AOE4 being made.

Imagine if they use the Game boy advance version of Sonic 1 in the new Sonic Origins game
I still only actually played it once close to launch, got everything and didn't get 100% only because that would have required me grinding hard for tokens. I like it more than the original and would find it mighty nice if it got fixed already(It's only 2 months? Feels like half a year), but I still can't see where the praise came from, besides "it's not dark age, me hate dark age". I can still literally grab Unwiished on a completed savefile to ignore the overhated nighthog and get the superior Wii-boost experience, even if it's less pretty of a game without some tinkering.
And well, I noticed a lot of minor things about this game while almost-100% that I really don't like. For example that the redundant quickstep-level in Planet Wisp(I think it was act 5 or 6) is machspeed...for absolutely no reason. I guess this was meant as "the challenge" when it was designed as an Unwiished-like mission-stage originally, but it's just annoying when it's treated as a proper stage, because I have to collect Red Rings for completion instead of just beating it. And when not collecting anything, it's not even hard, as I didn't even notice it originally.
Also, a while ago, a doublepack of IndirectSound(Older and appearently obsolete version of 3D surround sound) and Xbox-quality media were released on Gamebanana and a lot of the same complaints as Colors Ultimate came up. Soundeffects play at random volumes, sometimes don't play properly, sometimes the location of the sound is bugged, etc. So I think that essencially makes it 99% likely they actually DID cause the mess by trying to implement more advanced audio, but either couldn't get it to work or didn't have enough time. Or they were just stupid, because stuff like the announcervoices or checkpoints should have been global sounds that always play on a higher internal priority than the used surround sound-system.

Only reason I bought colors ultimate is cuz I don’t have a strong enough pc to emulate and I don’t have a wii or Wii U anymore
This game is so terribly optimized, that both Super Mario Galaxy from 3D All Stars and Zelda Skyward sword hd, boty being wii games, both run at 1080p 60fps, and sonic colors with a graphic improvement run at 900p and 30fps on switch bruh
