Thanks for taking time to re-education us on bits. It's hard to find one bit for All horses. Horses are individuals, just like we are. Even though I've ridden for 50 some odd years...hearing what you had to say was very educational and wise. I have a 17 year old Appaloosa mare that I'm going to have to move up into a more advanced bit. She's not listening in a short shank curb bit anymore! She's been my go to with young riders for 10 plus years. She wrestled with my husband over simple directions. She actually gave him a spill. She's NEVER, EVER done this before! We had her teeth looked at and her back and legs checked with our vet. She was cleared of all medical issues. She just decided she didn't need to listen! 😂 We took it with a tad bit of humor, but this is something we won't tolerate. Any suggestions what to try next?
Thanks for your comment and your question. As to a fix for your older horse who is developing problems I think you are wise to check for physical issues. Finding none makes the problem more complex and and harder to answer remotely. Sorry but I really don’t have much to offer from this distance.
Snaffle bit made of iron and copper, D-rings, slobber straps is my favorite piece of equipment. Best regards from Norway. Thank you for this video.
I think we have the same taste! Hard to improve on a simple but perfect concept. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching
Thanks for the video - great info.
Thanks for your, and thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing why you like certain bits over others or have a preference for the runner-up.
You are welcome. Glad you found it helpful.

Fine choices
Thanks !
The best bit is no bit at all.
Always an option.
What brand of headstalls are those?
