Great advice! As a customer signing my own loan documents I appreciated the time to read things over without the notary interrupting me. I'm a visual learner and wanted to read it for myself before asking my questions.

Yes, this is something new Notaries should know. Some may already be a bit nervous starting out in this business. Fortunately for myself I have extensive experience speaking in front of people from my service the U.S. Marine Corps so signers silence is no problem for me. However, I do try to move things along as best I can.

So true!! 😏 I have said things that ended up confusing the signer. Or opened up a whole new can of worms to things I shouldn't be explaining as the Notary.

I’m the kind of person that doesn’t mind a break in conversation in general. But I know a lot of people who find it hard not to fill in gaps. This was such a great tip especially for us new signers. We are already on high gear trying to do everything right, sometimes letting the borrower lead or just read, can make the signing smoother. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Yes!! A LOT of people (signers and signing agents) feel the need to fill every silence! But, that can be counterproductive to getting a signing completed efficiently and in a timely manner! I'm glad to see that this video is helpful - thank you! 😁
