Good tone & mix on this song but in some Korn albums detune to A his bass tone is just a rhythmic click & sounds like a bass drum !!

@@becominglessofmyself7032 I hope you are kidding. Referring to the current video he is closely following the drummer, and they both improvising small bits, so they get sloppy.
As a general rule Fieldy and Sylveria were very tight as a rhythm section, go and listen to the older Korn Albums.
Even Claypool complemented Fieldy on the fact that he was so tight and his sound was so fitting for Sylverias kick drum, that he passed Fieldy's bass for a kick drum.

I love how many people are confused by the funk. What did you expect? He doesn't "sound like Les Claypool" - he sounds like a musician stepping outside of the MASSIVE limits of rock and playing the fucking bass!
Playing only rock is more limited than, say, playing every genre. All I am saying.
Cody Hawk with shit tone and technique I have been playing bass for 20 years and I'm not perfect but I also teach kids how to play and you want your thump on your plucking hand perpendicular to the string as how he does it limits you to only slap in that fashion no double thumb or any thing which is tragic, also the tone is just horrible it is hard to fully distinguish what he is even playing other then simple octaves which is the same shit he does in Korn.
According to you money is all that matters. A true artist will make art without the money because he has to create. Too much money makes people think they can do anything. Like rap for instance...like fieldy did...and failed. He made money! So did Nickleback so lets drop that topic of reason shall we.
There is ZERO funk on the entire "Bassically" album. Zero funk, zero groove. It bassically (oh yay, pun) has nothing, except for bad production, sloppy pentatonic boring runs and licks that belong on the cutting room floor.
People who hate on fieldy need to realize that a musicians skill or greatness is not measured by how complex they can be. It’s all about the passion and how they put forth that passion. Sure there are amazing bassists out there and fieldy is one of them. Just because he doesn’t play a 12 string warbass doesn’t mean he’s trash

People who hate on fieldy should realize that he play bass as percussion, thats why we didnt hear any tone from that bass...

Has a les clay pool vibe in places, the rolls and paradiddle groove is infectious and the DJ is a natural fit to fieldy’s style. It’s refreshing to just hear a jam from established musicians as opposed to polished compositions sometimes. Reminds me of de la soul abit in terms of its upbeat and good times friendly sound.

I dig a bit of Jazz Fusion, I don’t understand why people get worked up so much about this aside from the simple response “it sucks”. Granted it can use a bit more experimentation with the time signature and tempo to keep it more interesting. But there’s still a lot of feel to it that makes it vibable, I don’t know maybe it’s just a niche thing but whether it’s Fieldy from KoRn or not I’d listen to this

For those of you comparing Fieldy to Less Claypool, there are some great licks at 1:09 , then at 0:54 he plays with his fretting hand upside down like a real show man and then the most Less Claypool part of the song is 1:40 where Fieldy does some mean shredding. He's a mean bassist. What is it called when guitarists and bassists play with their fretting hands upside down?

honestly I still think people are missing the point. This track is a sweet groove if you wanna spit some rhymes over it. I personally think the album needs remixing, or at the least remastering because a lot of the tracks lose the bounce the groove contains due to the other instruments not always complimenting that resulting in a more flat outcome. I would be absolutely honored to do the job myself and prove to people out there how this album is genuinely intriguing. I feel a lot of people don't understand a lot of what's going on in the music, so I'd pin this album down as something a musician/ bassist would enjoy analysing theoretically.
With respect to all the musicians involved, and I mean great respect, some of the ideas could use some minor tweaking for maximum ass bounce and head swinging y'know? Or at the very least the perpetual pigeon neck ;)
