Ingredients:
8 ounces mung beans
1 Knorr Pork Cube
45 grams Knorr Ginataang Gulay Mix
8 ounces fried tofu, diced
1 cup malunggay leaves
1 onion, chopped
1 tomato, diced (optional)
5 cloves garlic, crushed
6 cups water
3 Tablespoons cooking oil

Chef I will share my way of cooking guinisang monggo. I cook it in pressure cooker for 20 minutes. What I discover is that the aroma of the monggo beans comes out and it becomes more creamier. I saute the onions, garlic and tomatoes and then add the tinapa in a separate pan and then mix it to the pressurized monggo. Instead of ampalaya leaves I used spinach. I add chicharon as toppings. Try it Chef it is more creamier and aromatic. Thank you Chef share ko lng.😊God bless

I my father cooked mongo always with gata, that’s why it’s my favorite since childhood. Am now 74, still cooking mongo my father’s way❣️
Thats how i cook monggos. No meat, no tofu and no tomato. i use chicken cubes at nilalagyan ko ng maraming kalabasa,malunggay at gata. My mom uses day old fried fish or bolinaw. Best paired with bulad. Yum😋
Thanks sa new recipe, Wen I cook monggo, pinapakuluan ko muna till lumambot ska ko e gisa sa garlic, onions and tomato. Try nyo rin Po monggo then put leftovers chicken adobo. With anato seeds. saute nyo muna Yung anato seeds in oil, then discard the seeds. the saute garlic onions ,& tomato, then put your monggo.
Tinry ko siya ngayon at sobrang sarap niya😋😍 pinakamasarap na luto sa monggo na natikman ko sa ngayon. Thank you sa pag share chef. Sobrang worth it at ang sarap tlaga.😊
My mother who hails from Cebu always cooked her monggo with gata. The the leafy vegetable added is always alugbati. Perfect combination. Tinapa flakes is the meat side or pork. When I cooked this for my husband, he was aghast. He said they didn't put gata in monggo in Zambales. And the leafy veggies was always talbos ng ampalaya. Oh well... their loss😉

Ganyan magluto yong lola ko noong buhay pa siya, monggo with gata tapos nilalagyan niya ng daing as sahog, then puso ng saging na hiniwa ng manipis, grabe napaka sarap, tapos may mainit na kanin at pritong isda 😊

My grandma's recipe is the best. Today we cook mungo the same except without the "cubes" and other kitchen recipe chemicals. We only put crushed peanuts. The tofu is a great idea. Fried fish is a great additional ingredient for mungo if you don't like animal meat. Thank you for the video presentation I learned a few good ideas.

Ang proseso namin palambutin yong mongoes kapag medjo malambot na at medjo malapot, doon namin binuhos yong kakang gata, squash cubes, string beans, onion hinimay himay na tulingang tinapa tapos takpan pagkaluto noong Squash doon na titimplahan tapos lunod malunggay at spring onion.
Hi Chef… nice watching you cooking this monggo recipe. i will try this with new discovered ingredient, FRIED TUFO!
Tip: you can prepare monggo ahead of time by boiling them and turn off gas. don’t open the lid until you’re ready to cook lunch. This way you’ll see them getting softer and re boil again. You saved time and gas/fuel. Or you can boil at night and let stay overnite in the fridge

Ginataang munggo has been a central Philippine, particularly Iloilo delicacy for decades. Coconut is a good anti-inflammatory. I'm glad you discovered it. Try mushroom seasoning instead of pork bullion to reduce MSG (promotes clean eating) and sodium intake and using ginger and turmeric to actually truly improve immune-boosting properties.

I always use tomatoes when l cook ginisang munggo. Niluluto ko muna ang munggo hanggang sa malambot na.

I love the pressed tofu idea. It's one of my favorite ingredients. Meat is hard for me to digest so I eat it sparingly. I don't do gluten either so the knorr soup mix, not the cubes, I can't have.

We cook ginataang mongo almost every month. Other variations would be adding small jack fruit cubes and dried salted fish head for flavor.
