Just saw them last Friday in San Diego... they did the entire Pink album. It was amazing!!! The played The Casbah.. sold out/totally packed. Boris is superb live, totally exciting from beginning to end... do NOT miss them play the Pink album, it's worth any effort.

Saw 'em back in December. They were insane. During Just Abandoned Myself, Atsuo crowdsurfed and fell on top of me as he came back toward the stage. Takeshi held his bass/guitar over our heads at the end of the encore, letting us scratch at the strings to create even more racket. Wata smiled and bowed at us when it was all over. Best show I've seen in years.

watas representing her own style and personality, shes not gonna lie to you. Shes a cool calm hot chick that can shred a guitar. Besides the drummer has enough enthusiasm to cover the whole band, enjoyed the intro scream -> cowbell.

I saw them at Lee's Palace on Thursday and it was honestly one of the most awe inspiring shows that I have ever been at in my entire life. They were so amazing live and pulled everything off amazingly. If you haven't witnessed Boris live and they are coming near you sometime soon, go check them out.

Boris is sick, this bands got a lot of instrumental music thats just as good as their heavier stuff! their album Pink is amazing worth checking out!
I love how chaotic and noisy it is, yet the songwriting is so good that despite being in for most people foreign language it’s as popular in the west as it is.
And the best part is if you get into this band, you’ll never have to worry about running out of stuff to listen to

@BoldMoldOfGold - Why does it matter where they're from? The got their name and their formulative sound from an American band called the Melvins, but I bet you wouldn't like them either, so your points kind of dead, what ever your point was.
To everyone else: guys, if you don't like it, then dude, that's more then cool. If you whine about how bad it sucks: well, be prepared to read Justin Beiber's name alot.
Wata's playing reminds me of Peter Green. This song is a bad example. Compare her soloing in Naki Kyoku to Green's solo in Fleetwood Mac's Green Manalishi. Both are really understated with a latent darkness. They don't hit a lot of notes, but the ones they hit are all the right ones. She's also like Adam Jones in that she can eek every ounce of evil from her equipment. If you see this band live, you'll get it. They sound like all they do is play, and hit like a chainsaw taken to the Vatican.
Oh no i didn't say she can't solo or play the guitar better. I just ment in this video. Particularly in this song it's senseless noise that sound pretty cool arranged but then again most of us can agree requires not much knowledge nor skill =| ...just this song though. @LKKAndresX Eh, "tasteless" is purely opinionated, but it is mostly pedals, yeah. She has solo's in other songs that have a lot of feeling to them and definitely add to the atmosphere, so people saying she can "solo" makes sense. It's not all about technicality. However, I certain wouldn't say she can "shred," because yeah this stuff isn't that difficult as you said. Although maybe she could if she wanted to, who knows.

boris have never been about being heavy or br00tal, they make music they like. Atsuo said in a recent interview that he's been listening to a lot of pop and anime records lately. I woudln't be surprised if they made a folk album, something like Ai Aso's work.
They don't give a fuck, if they made a pop album next year it'd be because they actually listen to more than one genre of music. It doesn't seem like they're even aware that their American/European fans are so concerned with their image.

You have a Model T? Niiiiiiice, yeah I bet it would be. I've heard about Sunn's (the band) live act being shut down for being too loud before, and also that they don't mic up their amps, so I'd imagine it would be loud as all hell, I guess one would have to anticipate the impracticality.
This is The Stooges meets Dianasour Jr......very very very BITCHEN n COOL!!! It's nice to hear stuff thats original and ultra mod rock mixed with a touch of psychadellia acid sound with out being too distorted aka..Sonic Youth. These folks are living to play and it shows. Hope they do well...I'll buy it!!!!
It's amazing how any mediocre band who uses way too much fuzz and feedback is able to get a hold of a record deal and a fanbase. There's not a single impressive thing about this song. Bland riffage, check. Bland feedbacky solo, check. Bland vocals, check. The only real saving grace to the video is that bitchin Guitar-Bass.
This sounds similar to Pink / Heavy Rocks -- maybe a bit more rock-ish. But the version on the (Japanese) album is much more experimental; it sounds more like a weird remix. I don't know why they chose this version for the US release; if anything I think US audiences would prefer the weirder version. But I would think the live version sounds a lot more like this one.

I must say I really dig there sound, its exactly what i've been looking for.
I just cant handle the Japanese lyrics.
To me it ruins it.... wich is a real pity.

The Japanese version is way more unique to me, and a fantastic opener to the Japanese version. It's noisier, longer, groovier, and overall more fucking awesome.
I don't mind this version though. It's not by any means better, but you know what? It's still fucking KICK ASS like Boris should be.
