That’s awesome but you know what guys, you also should post about your maintenance personal. Those guys work 24/7 around the clock to make sure those plane are ready to go for the pilots. Show your mechanics that you care and show them appreciation too, they more than deserve it!
They got some top notch mechanics but some of them don't care. I love marshaling up a plane and seeing duct tape holding the P section doors closed cuz it wont open or close but send it off anyway w/o any notification.
First I’ve seen the father & son pilot Matt & Nelson Lare flying with the UPS company, now I’m seeing the mother & son doing the same. It just get better & better every time. Gotta love it when a company they work for does something special like this. Now I’ve got answer whenever I ask a question “ WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?” Their answer is “TRY TO PUT FAMILY TOGETHER AT 37,000 feet high in the sky!
Did she taxi several times around the airport looking for the closest parking spot? Come on mom, just park it at the end of the runway. I got places to be.
I don't have a lot of regrets, but one thing I should have done when I was a teenager was to get my pilots license, and eventually fly the big birds. If you're young, and want to be a pilot, start taking flying lessons at your local flight school. Just take the first step to get started. You'll never regret it!
I've been flying "big iron" for 2 decades now. My son is currently flying regional but is quickly working his way up. Our hope is to one day do the same thing. My grandson(5) not only loves flying with us but already has "favorite" airplane models. His fave being the B-58 which my grandfather flew back in the late 50's/early 60's as a test pilot with Convair. He definitely suffers from hyperaviationemia! Maybe we'll all be together in a cockpit with him doing the work in another 15 years or so!
Very cool. Now I'm picturing her reaching over and dope-slapping him if he screws up a checklist callout. Or just giving him the mom look of disappointment.
Congratulations to both of you! I too am a little surprised it has not happened sooner. There are some fantastic pilots that are women, married with children and are now senior master aviators. But at least it's one more glass barrier that has been shattered! I bet there will be some interesting dinner conversations on RON flights that have interesting weather, squawks and traffic jams in the sky! :-)
Capt: Let's have the After Start checklist, please.
FO: Okay, Mom.
Or: Not now, Mom... I'm playing Nintendo!
Or: When will we get there? I have to go Number Two!
Haha, you guys!
(Although, I'm curious: why the random capitals on "[n]umber [t]wo"?
Mom lower the flaps to 3 please....Son did you lower the landing gears yet??? Mom?? I'm not a child....
I am a parent with adult children, so I can feel this mother's pride in her son's achievement.
These are adults that sexually abuse children. Not really the same thing as adult children
That is unexpected!!!! That is wonderful to see mother and son are flying together first time!!! Congratulations!!!!!!
How cool! He can hug his mom, giver her a kiss and tell her he loves her all without harassment charges! Go ups!
Cool beans! So, UPS has done Father and Son, and Mother and Son. Now we need to see Father and Daughter and Mother and Daughter crews!
Yes!!
Except a husband and wife...
Well, not UPS, but John and Martha King prove how well that can work in their private Falcon jet.
good luck trying to find young females today who want to be pilots, hell even males, the industry is going downhill big time
Don't 4git Grand-ma & Grand-Pappy ! YYZ-Planker.
Absolute refreshing upbeat story.
