- I had a belt fly off when I pulled on it. Glad I got to it before I was on the water and it broke off! In this video I replace the belts on a 5.8L motor but I also show you how on a 5.8L motor as well.

Great video, helped me with reinstalling my engine after I rebuilt it. Wish you had mentioned part numbers for all 3 belts and noticed you read the label on the PAS belt at 9:27 as 3854862 when the label says 3858462 lol. Overall though a great video that I found very useful thanks.

Your videos have been an immense help! However, I'm trying to tighten/adjust the tension for the water pump and alternator belts and haven't found a good way to do so. Any tips?! Trying to get them to that 45-55lbs with the kriket.
I used trigger clamps in reverse - worked pretty well - if anyone was pondering a good method.
Michael if my sunbird corsica,5.0 v8 ho 1990 ford has been sitting for 4 years, the fly wheels are spinning but dragging... not a heavy cranking sound with new batt...what's the best source for parts before we get into fixing problems to get it to turn over. All I know is it cutt off while running then sat..definitely had much 20 gallons of rain water around fuel tank, got it all out with tube and vac. Floors ok.
Nice job..do u know anyone who rebuilds the EFI Control box for a Volvo 5.8 ( 1996 year ) Or sells them new ?

How do you get the alternator belt back on? Mine doesn't slide down enough to get it around the pulleys

Have you work on a 4.3GL volvo engine? I couldn't get the belt in the bottom.
What year is it? You likely need to take a pulley off first.
