Always look forward to your vlogs! Would love to see more, but completely understand how busy your life is with family and school. How you manage both is a miracle.
You don't realise just how much difference displays etc make to a classroom until you have to teach in a bare room, and I didn't appreciate quite how much your displays and organisation brightened up your room until seeing it stripped bare in this video! My first year teaching I found out on Friday afternoon that we had to vacate our classroom for 2 weeks starting Monday while they did some work. It was a fun 2 hours after school trying to make sure I'd taken everything we needed for 2 weeks of teaching! And more fun trying to make the temporary classroom (which was mostly being used for adult training sessions) work for a class of 30 ten year olds. We somehow survived! But I don't envy you the task of stripping an entire room around the kids.
I'm also in the process of packing up my room. I am moving districts and from 2nd grade to reading intervention next year. I'm moving most of my stuff I want to keep for now into a storage unit over spring break. Then I just need to move my personal furniture the last week and my wall decor the second to last day. Right now I am working on purging, and finding and boxing up donors choose stuff that has to stay, as well as 2nd grade stuff the next teacher might want. 4/5 of the teachers on my team are leaving, so hopefully the new group of teachers find what I leave helpful. I'm trying to leave behind as little as possible and pack up my stuff as methodically as possible since it'll be in storage for at least a year while I figure out my life plan and whether I will go back to being a classroom teacher. I am secretly excited about NOT setting up a whole classroom next year 😂. I am however excited to see your new classroom!
Oh man, what a lot of work! I feel like this is an extra treat this year because I love classroom set-up videos! Good luck with your move and I would LOVE to see a mid-year classroom set up video!
Ten years ago, our school was renovated. That part was great, but not having to do it during the school year. They did part of the school the first half of the year and moved those classes to portables. Then swapped the second part of the year to finish the other part of the school. So dumb. If they would have started during summer when rooms could be packed up would have made more sense. But you know sanity is lacking sometimes 😉
Can’t wait for mid year unpacking! I despise packing and despise unpacking and setting up even more. I just want to leave my room as is with no food or paper and come back to it the next year. Unfortunately I have only stayed in the same room 2x out of 8 years. I moved between 5 rooms.
Well Shelley, As much as I wish that the school would have waited until the end of the school year to do what they are doing with you all due to the effect that this will have on the students I am looking forward to seeing your new classroom. - Dwight
@@EarlyEDventures is this due to weather (e.g. too hot for certain states to be in a class during June, July) or just a preference by state? In Canada, we are very end of June.
ugh at this point I wouldn't even bother putting anything back up...its almost summer break

I was just thinking about you!! So happy for you finishing up packing! I was gonna say “good lord put on a movie and just do your thing!” 😂

Can't wait to see your new classroom! Great job on packing up everything. That seemed like a Herculean task!
Can’t wait to see you set up all over again. I hope they will let you leave things up for the summer so you will have an easier time in august.

Since you can’t use your personal storage will you have more storage space in the new room. Can’t wait to see it
Craziness!

Individually, I use pencils, stickers, and erasers. I-Read 10 100% punch card (modifications for IEP or lower levels).

Good afternoon
Gosh schools almost out.
is that gonna be your new permanent classroom or do you have to move back once they’ve done that part of the school?

Make a new video and I want to see your new classroom
