I am in love with these model years. Nothing runs so sweet as a Chevy 6. If I could, I would buy this car new. Sadly, nothing is made today with this much character. Thanks to both of you
She looks great ! 👍🇺🇸😎 I like the slot mags, but the chrome with chrome caps would look sooo koool 👍 I lov the way yall go back an forth with each other too 😂😅 I got some good laffs 😂
Very Cool! Love how your able to give so much time and dedication in breathing life back into our workhorses you and your Tech Advisor, Mamma-san!:0) show, and so much fun and adventure!
Happy happy fathers day Richard i hope your pretty wife spoils u tomorrow with some nice breakfast or dinner and that Lula is looking so so good omg great great job jusy finally got to watch i video been busy today falling a few 🎄 at my homestead u guys keep delivering all the time ❤😊
Thanks for watching! Yes, on the road again...just can't wait to get on the road again...maybe that old Willie Nelson song should be Lula's theme song🙂
God bless you guys! My Dad’s first car was a black 52 just like yours. I remember standing beside him shifting the gears as he drove. That was 60 years ago. I really hoped to find one for his 80th birthday unfortunately he didn’t make it. Ours was named Bessie.
I am really happy to see this car running and driving. These old cars bring back childhood memories! A lot of people love the patina look. I am not one of them.
Excellent video Christine :) , Richard :) also slot rims on back and right side on front to Lua black car and super car hopefully get carb to fix plus clutch too ! Don't worry about smoke alarm remember my dad set off smoke alarm in machinery shed when weld up exhaust on muffler on farm tractor one years ago in big machinery shed because wind blew smoke around Lol! Happy Father's Day Richard, all men in You Tube videos!
Good for you! Chevy Rescue Land. I have a 46 coupe with 46000 original miles. I love the marbled look on the Roof. Great weathered wheels look! Christina I'm 74 so I know what you mean about having a supply of Ibuprofen on ha n d lol
I think Christina your partner is a great addition to your channel. It’s so much better than the old Prague life days. And I liked that channel as well. But it’s much better now, really a fun channel. Good luck guys.
I totally agree ! More important to save stuff , we have seen all the imaculate show cars before , it's a machine after all , really great what you do !
Hey Richard and Christina really great job on preserving Lulu! I am sure it was way more hard work then you was on the video but Congrats this old girl is a happy camper now!! So what are you trying to say Christina about over 40 and Tylenol 😂
Love your channel and how you save these great old cars! I have a 1942 Ford Super Deluxe Business Coupe that is in great shape with 76,000 original miles and a 1971 Chevelle SS tribute car. I have always loved the old cars and I adore muscle cars. I grew up in the muscle car era in the 60's and 70's. Anyway, keep up the good work. It's nice that y'all work together so well. My first vehicle was a 1948 Willis Jeep truck. I got a 1954 Chevrolet with that great 6 cylinder after that and it ran like a sewing machine! I like the glossy look! Bye for now! God bless y'all!
very nice look, I've been using the same product for about a year and my c10 sits outside. I had to reapply after 6 months, the horizonal surface will start to peel. If you leave in your garage it would last a couple of years. good luck
1947 to 1954 Chevrolet Cars are very nice Richard you and Christina do really great work thanks for being these Cars back to life please keep up the great work
hey rich, you can use marvel mystery oil and #0004 steel wool to clean the chrome on the bumpers. that beast kind of has the doc hudson look to it. awesome save.
You Both Have That Old Gal Looking Great, What An Amazing Save, I Admire The Hard Work You Both Do Rescuing The Forgotten Old Cars, Keep Up The Amazing Work, Be Well & Happy Fathers Day!!
You can only preserve the history of a car once. After a restoration, that history is erased. I, for one, appreciate what y'all do. May you have many wonderful miles enjoying Lula.
Such an incredible job on this truly amazing car. The interior looks very well done with a great attention to detail. All the work you both put into the exterior was definitely worth the effort 👌. I think the slot mags look the best the chrome steels would look perfect on a 55 and up chevy. Fantastic work on this car both of you.
Great job! She looks great! 😎👍 I like the way the chrome reverse wheels look. That's my pick for wheels. They give it a classic drag race look.....American Graffiti style! 😅 Thanks for sharing, Richard and Christina!! 👍👍
Thanks David! Those chrome reverse wheels are a favorite of mine. I remember them well from that movie. The deuce coupe, the 55 Chevy, and the 58 Chevy all had them. Very cool!
Nice job you two!! Engine sounds good too! The body work on that rot will be the big expense and mostly time if you do it yourself. Enjoy Lula whenever you can. Cars are made to be driven!
In my eyes there's no better painter than mamma earth herself.. what the rust..oration was a great idea, guys! Love it & love your channel!! Always look forward to yalls uploads! Keep up the good work✌️🥂
I’m an old Ford guy but I appreciate all classic American cars!! You have brought that old girl back to life and usefulness! You both put a lot of effort and love into your work and it really shows! Thanks for sharing your work with us!
You two did an awesome job on getting Lula back up and running!! It looks good the way it is. I think the slot wheels suit it. Looking forward to seeing more rescues. Keep up the great work!
Nice looking chevy. You guys did a great job. Speaking of wheels I don't think you can go wrong with either the slotted mags or the chrome reverse wheels. I think slotted mags look good in 4 doors. Great job, keep up the good work!
I think it looks fantastic. Some do not care for the way cars are done like you have. Compare the cost to paint and all you want is it to be protected and cared for. You are not going to put Lula in a show comp she will always be your driver the way you want. I really love how it came out. Good Job Christina & Richard.
@@whattherust you can spray paint the door gloss black and then sand it until some of the old psint comes through and match the black patina to the rest of the car
Will the taillight lenses of the "donor" car fit Lula? You guys have done an awesome job at bring this classic back to life and saving her. And it's not a "Rust" video if Richard doesn't either forget to hook up the battery or drop something. That's what makes your videos so much fun in that you don't edit out these small parts. Plus we get to see how much fun you have together. Watching you two reminds me of the time my late wife and I spent together getting an old '78 Allegro motor home ready for the road. I think things like that make you appreciate each other more.
You are so right Richard. We love doing these cars together. Some couples like a night on the town, we like a night with the car. The lights on the 1950 are different, but I have some new lenses on the way!
black steel wheels is my favorite...
Nice interior
Wow you guys did an amazing job on her with a beautiful black paint job on it she'd be so cool
Thank you Robert! She would, maybe someday.
Oh yeah loved that mustang in the background happy summer time
Thanks for watching David! Richard loves his Mustang! Happy summer to you:-)
I am in love with these model years. Nothing runs so sweet as a Chevy 6. If I could, I would buy this car new. Sadly, nothing is made today with this much character. Thanks to both of you
I know what you mean Steve. These 49-54 Chevys are fantastic cars. They are built like a tank, and the 6 has a great sound and so easy to work on.
@@whattherustThe effort turned out really nice.
what's engine is this?
Blue Flame 6, Stovebolt 6?
Nice work you two
Thanks very much!
Yay Lula! can't kill a classic!
Thanks!
Thank you for all the support and words of encouragement 🙏 We appreciate you.
I really like the shinny patina.
So do I! Maybe we'll try another coat next month? Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
Late to the game on watching the video but great job I love Lula.
Thanks Robert!
Yes definitely three cool old cars with new lives

The high gloss looks great 👍
I agree Jeff. We had no idea what to expect, but we like it.
Looking better all the time !
Looks great. Its only original once. Great to see these old girls running. Love the slotted wheels .

Great job with Lula! I like the chrome reverse wheels better than the slotted ones. Not a fan of them. Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks for the feedback Vincent!
Awesome job guys! i've seen these in the past with wide steelies on them with chrome centre caps, that looks pretty mean!
Thanks Bruce!
I am really happy to see this car running and driving. These old cars bring back childhood memories! A lot of people love the patina look. I am not one of them.
