My Torments - Demo 15 / 15.2.2008

1. The Benoit Tape
My Torments was an experiment in improvisation and musical destruction. Everything I did was following a pattern of recording random drums with improvised song structures, if any, adding guitar with anything that came to mind and finally improvising vocals on top from various source material. There is no distortion used on any of the instruments, every bit of it was through natural (unnatural?) analogue recording method of maxing out the input, thus distorting the recording in itself. My Torments was a refreshing project for me to do, just go to the rehearsal place and create, and looking back there are tons of ideas which could've been made into real songs.
On this demo the lyrical topic and source material was Chris Benoit's career, death and the conspiracy theories revolving around the subject. I was fascinated about what happened as at the time Benoit was my favorite show wrestler, with his rabid attitude. Unlike all the other demos, demo 15 also contains a cross-over attempt to incorporate elements and parts from the noise scene. It was released on a private tape.
