    Dude you are totally helping me out. I have been trying to find out how my M Perf exhaust will sound with the AA Mid-Pipe if the AA Mid-Pipe can be attached to the M Perf muffler without cutting the piping on the M Perf. Looks like this video answers that question and it needs to be cut. I'll likely not go that route since I already cut the OEM exhaust piping to install the M Perf exhaust. Don't like having so many exhaust clamps. Prefer Flanges. Just a quick tip....instead of using the reciprocating saw try using the cutting wheel tool. With that you will not need to remove your exhaust and cutting the piping takes 2-3 mins per pipe.
    On a side note, I can totally relate to working under a car with jack stands😂. What would I not give to get a lift😄 Friendly tip on installing the muffler. Use your jack with a 2x4 wood piece to raise and lower the muffler. That way you won't be killing yourself trying to raise it as you line up and tighten the clamps.

    I have the AA midpipe in the garage waiting for me to find the time to fit. Since my backbox (muffler) has been modified with some baffles removed, I'm hoping it will give the perfect balance of noise level and 'premium sound' as you've put it.
    Question - do you think it't possible to cut the muffler in place rather than removing the whole system? Ie. is there enough clearance to get the reciprocating saw in there? Trying to figure out how much time to assign to the job ;)

  • @CopiumEnjoyer

    I have a DP + ZCP setup that is much like having the AA Midpipe in that it significantly reduces rasp while maintaining stock cabin noise with the valves closed. However having a too free flowing exhaust will apparently introduce rasp back into the sound quality of your exhaust so if a DP is in your future for maybe a BM3 tune (which has been my favorite mod so far), you might run into some more adjusting of your exhaust setup.
    Also, completely unrelated but how do you like having the moonroof as opposed to the CF? I currently have MR but I get CF roof envy all the time just for the aesthetics.

    • @TommyLGarage

      AtomicTealM3 downpipes are a no no for me since I want to have cats. Muffler setup is next.

I'm comfortable with the current volume I have with valves open, just trying to eliminate that swarm of bees buzzing sound at WOT. RT in Livermore I haven’t done it it yet. I’ll do it once I get my other muffler in

    • @rtabcum
      @rtabcum 5 років тому

      Reason: I did some quick math from what I remember in fluid dynamics, the AA 3" tube theoretical calculation is more restrictive than two of the 2.5" stock tubes. I simply calculated the volume of gas that can occupy both for a given length. Also because I am in the market for a mid pipe...Thanks and looking forward to the dyno results!

      Tommy L Garage that’s a shame to hear. I’m going to request a map that they leave the oe zcp burble table alone and hopefully that works.
