Note: one point I did not cover in this lecture is the affect of Shaytan (devil) on Wiswas (intrusive thoughts) in a human. Shaytan is a continuous culprit and plays a role in leading to mental illnesses. Spiritual medications such as Ruqya, reciting the 3 Quls, listening to Quran, regular words of Dhikr (remembrance) and using the other methods described in this lecture help, inshllah.

assalamualaikum, sheikh, I am a 26 year old man who was matched with a girl whose guardian did not allow any man to take her out, and I was introduced to that girl, to be honest, the feeling when I first met I didn't feel like it or you could say it was normal, then the girl told her guardian that she liked me, I was asking Allah to marry me, long story short I thought this was the path that Allah had given me, maybe this was the best path from Allah, and finally I agreed to get engaged, but after we got engaged my heart I seemed to say no to the girl, remembering that from the first time I met her, I was normal to that girl, now I'm confused about whether I should continue with the condition of my heart that says no, or what. I really need an answer right now, because the woman's guardian asked for certainty, hopefully the answer from the ustadz is an answer from Allah too.

      17/19/21 ....
Hijama is a kind of Cupping, in other words, the dead blood cells are sucked out by vacuum so that the body has the opportunity to ventilate, I advise you to go to a reliable religious brother or sister who follows the way of (Tawheed and Sunna of Islam). ) and know what they are doing or saying, because there are a lot of scammers out there and they can cause harm
For more information read the book of

Please keep talking about mental health and mental illness! There is so much stigma around it, especially in religious communities. It was very helpful to hear where Islam stands on this matter. And this once more proves my point on how little the world knows about the religion of Islam.
    Thank you for this lecture!

Mental health studies and psychology is a form of knowledge. All knowledge comes from Allah. So I see it as this is a mercy from Allah to help us become cured and better. As long as we use it the right way along side with our Iman, Islam, etc. Alhumdullah for this knowledge. May Allah guide us all, and always.

Saying to someone their depression is because of their Lak of Iman or prayer is the worst thing ever. It makes them resentful of religion & makes them more angry. Sometimes all a person needs is a tight hug & gentleness of speech for them to start getting better. As an over thinker myself all these thoughts & feelings & being overly emotional is dangerous, because if u hid it all ur body can’t take it & it leaks to sickness. So be kind to ur selves & leave it to Allah

I agree.. Mr Belal mentioned both in this lecture 1:07:24
I think we need a combination of both.. A Balance between Prayer and good support system.
Me personally , i rarely fall into mental illness ( depression for example ) , i got wore out or anxious but that's not depressed. Few days of a good rest or a good workout i will feel better.
Alhamdulilah , Allah bless me with positive outlook about life in general..
Everyone navigate mental health differently- i pray that Allah ( Ya Sami ) takes care of everyone worries, and grant ease to all affairs , Aamiin.

Walikum salaam. I've been on my medicine since 2007 but started at a small dose and maxed out at a certain level, please be careful, its normal to feel anxious at first, because your brain and body starts to adapt to the chemical imbalance in the brain. I maintain professional help every 2-3 months by my doctor's and please understand everybody's bodies are different and our chemical reactions respond differently with side effects that may be positive or negative. InshaAllah everything will be ok 😊 @@2002yb

    • @MostafaMansoori
      @MostafaMansoori 6 місяців тому

@@2002yb Its been a very long time now, please do understand that everybody's bodies have a different chemistry. At first I felt very anxious too because the medication first begins to adjust to the chemical imbalances in the brain such as serotonin, this is considered a normal thing because the medication may have positive and or negative side effects. We put our trust in Allah (swt) Who is the All-Healing and one of the most beautiful names of Allah is Al-Shifa. Take care, peace out.

Pointing it out to 'ain' is a coping mechanism, some finds it is easier than pointing inward/introspectively ☺️

I do think as well many Muslims come from an ethnic background which makes sense as to why mental health conversations are shun or disregarded. Families who come from war torn nations, corrupt nations and so on, don’t have the education on this topic and therefore, they teach their children that it doesn’t exist and resilience is the only way. It is one way, but we cannot just disregard the science of mental health.

Thank you for this lecture. Could you make another one about family of the people with such problems ?? My husband has OCD, and it is very difficult for me to deal with it as well... I became more nervous, have anxiety, and such stuff.. we both started praying, and it helps a bit... but still, it is so hard for me.

I do not want to having one of this mental issue because it would make me more and more useless than before. And this kinda reinforced that. This lecture helps. :)

This was excellent but I have to address something. I know a family where the oldest was the most spoiled and the youngest was actually neglected very much. This might be because of the huge age difference and the parents being older and tired and the older siblings being very aggressive/abusive to the youngest but don’t always assume the youngest is spoiled because that’s not always the case.

For the really serious cases it is often difficult even to talk about it,
