- The English voice actor for Argenti (Adam Michael Gold) has faced unfair treatment. It appears there is some bias against him, as he hasn't had any voice lines since version 2.2, despite assurances that this would be resolved. In version 2.3, Argenti still lacks voice lines, a problem unique to the English version. The voice actor confirmed he has completed his work and is fine, asking for patience until the issue is corrected.

I also felt that my game was bugged the first time I experienced it.
I didn't notice a thing, because I usually play with sounds off (except for Major Events, like cutscenes and story boss fights)

I was actually so upset. Seeing him in penacony was so unexpected! And then the moment was quickly soured when I didn't hear his beautiful voice. Can't believe it isn't fixed yet :///

The bug only happens with the English voice, I don't know if they're intentionally doing it to him.
@@Darkos88it's not a bug or they treat him unfairly buddy. The problem is between he/his agency with hoyo so his voice isn't there was intended until this they can work the communication and reach equal agreement

"You are fighting a gentleman!" Is in my top 3 boss lines up there with like Aventurines all or nothing, i like his voice
I struggled a bit against him, but he's a great boss.

On a different note. Have you seen the Aventurine boss in the divergent universe? Its finale phase has the gamble mechanic slightly changed where everyone needs to help get to a really big number, I think that was awesome. Just wished it saved me an extra hour during the story😭😭

Aventurine's "It's all or nothing!" manages to give me literal chills every single time! When I was fighting against him in the Forgotten Hall I didn't restart even when I knew that I wouldn't get 3* just to listen to this god-like voiceline.

The only option would be to hope someone plays the story when it's fixed and put it on UA-cam for us to experience that we couldn't on our first go

That's right, that's why I feel Argenti here is fake because he doesn't speak at all. But it turns out he's real and he's there.

Actually not just the voiceline in the Trailblaze Mission, recently i met Argenti in Astral Express. And when I interact with him, I didn't hear his (EN) voice either.
Yeah i hate not hearing argenti talk in the story quest takes me out since i hear everyone else. Also i think the va does such a good job with Argenti. Sucks i probably wont hear argenti say the dialogue in English since i am doing the quest already.
Yeah, especially in version 2.2, the moment was really strange, like seeing Argenti mute and not moving his mouth at all.

I've been hearing his voice throughout every update for English, haven't had issues with that
I'm just trying to mimic his voice whenever he's popped up (surprisingly kinda good I think)
Weird thing was, for mine Argenti’s eng voice was working perfectly fine even during the cut scenes and just dialogue scenes

I don't know if they have fixed it yet. I last played it yesterday during the update, and I found he still mute.

Are you sure its the 2.2 and 2.3 story dialogue? Because all his other voice lines are fine just the recent ones arent
@@asoretI don’t think it’s quite like the Tighnari-Situation, both parties here seem in agreement and I wouldn’t speculate on something as grave with no further evidence.
My guess is that he did record the voice lines and that there was some issue either from a technical standpoint or that his delivery was not what Hoyo had in mind.
What many don’t realize is that VAs don’t really get told much about what they’re voicing, it’s not like they’re lip-synching to pre-existing game material, so sometimes, there can be a disconnect.
Famously, the Neuvillette VA didn’t know much about his character when he recorded the attack lines, and when he wanted to re-record Hoyo declined, which is why our orderly judge now goes “Hoah! Shuhaa! Hoooo!” In combat.

Don't worry, his work is good and he fits the character well, so he won't be replaced by anyone. And yes, this is Hoyoverse's fault for not fixing this bug for two patches, so the voice actor shouldn't be affected in any way.

Honestly, my gut tells me it could be contract stuff. The fact both parties have said that Argenti's voice will be added in a later patch helps me believe that. Whether it be a contract between Mihoyo and the talent directly, or if some contractual middle man (e.g. the recording studio or agency) is holding things up we'll probably never know. Either way, love his voice and hope to hear him again soon!

Actually, Hoyoverse is also quick in handling issues like the recent top-up problem, which was fixed promptly. However, I don't know why they're finding it so difficult to fix this voice bug.

I am not a game dev but if it's taking this much time then it is probably not a simple issue. They are not gonna mute characters on purpose they pay them for this.

When Argenti didn't have a voice during 2.2, I was disappointed it wasn't working because I love his character so much, but was just like "Ok, they know about it and are fixing it, it's fine." Imagine my heartbreak when I finally got to talk to him in 2.3 and he still didn't have a voice
Finally someone brings this up!!!!!!!! Thank freak but hear me out, it's too late to fix this, the moment the lines were displayed in game. Reason is that: if you played the missions and noticed or even complained that Argenti doesn't have a voice, this "fix" is irrelevant cause if you already noticed this, that means you played the missions and since you did, you can't replay said mission (you can't replay any mission for that matter) it's more an afternote than it is a "fix" the only people who can benefit from this "fix" would be new players who didn't even knoe about this to begin with

That is honestly really sad to hear. Since most stories are a must-do before being able to participate in an event, that means the majority of us will be unable to experience or hear it unless someone makes a new account and puts it on UA-cam for others to listen to it. The fact it's still not fixed in version 2.3 already upsets me. I haven't started the story yet and already feel disappointed man ;-;

Yes, that's absolutely right. It seems that everyone using the English voice will be affected in the same way. I also thought my game was broken because his voice was missing, but after restarting, it turned out he was indeed mute.
At this point I want to see one VA who wasn't treated unfairly.

I don't play EN audio, but Argenti's EN voicelines is probably one of the best in the game (whether it's the boss or the playable one). It's just sad that they didn't add his voice once again in the new update.

@@Darkos88 Oh. So lines were recorded and files for them are in the game but the tracks just aren't playing on queue, okay that's better than alternatives like he's just lowkey been dropped. That said, disappointing as it is, I can sorta understand if it's a low priority bugfix in their development and correction schedules.
@@asoretaudio stuff is probably harder to fix - I remember in another game, not Hoyoverse, but there was an issue where the audio wasn't matching up to the cutscenes or the gameplay and it took them like a month to fix it. It's probably because they want to get the story done and just fix some stuff later on.

That's what I was wondering fr. I was so excited to talk to the 5 people which were Aventurine w/ boothill, ratio, Jade, Topaz and Argenti. Then, when I talked to Argenti as last, you don't know how disappointed I am when I didn't hear anything and had to read what he said ☹️

At this point in time the biggest reward is to hear Argenti speak again.

I had to try to mimic Argenti's voice when I bumped into him again in Penacony. It was upsetting that his voice lines weren't working.
I'd rather hear him talk than to read his dialogue. You can really underestimate how powerfully easy it is to follow the dialogue when you read along when they speak
