- Today, let’s look at the Bridget MX stickless controller from SGF. This is a relatively cheaper option for an all-button controller so let’s put it through the paces in this video review. Can it hang with similarly priced fightstick offerings? Watch and see!

I got my Bridget MX done in a Rez Infinite theme. Black case with white directional buttons and orange action buttons. It turned out great! Shipping was just as fast as you show in the video and they were beyond friendly and responsive customer support-wise. Until my MPress finally arrives, this is my first and only all button controller and I've been scrublording it up in SF6 and having a blast. The buttons definitely feel more premium than they look, and they stand up well to my gorilla fisted panic buttonmashing in the heat of battle.
The Bridget MX seems like the ideal entry-level budget controller if you're curious about leverless options, as that was exactly my use case and I've been nothing but happy with it.
Right on! The theme sounds cool and I'm glad you had a good experience with the sellers! Good luck with your all-button journey!
There’s def a huge market potential for all buttons controllers. Hitbox and snackbox are too way overpriced, for something that can be built at home using 3rd party Pcbs and parts. Definitely gonna get one and I hope they do international shipping too.
Yeah, there's a ton of interesting all-button models coming to the scene these days. Hopefully they do international shipping, but if not, I have another video on this channel that will give you the basics of assembling a similar Flatbox build yourself. So hopefully you're covered one way or the other. Thanks for watching!
Good vid, very happy to see GP2040-CE boards popping up more and more, RIDICULOUSLY cheap board and makes things alot more accessible for the same or better performance
Totally agree!
Always sold out though is the real issue haha.
I bought his on Aliexpress for $50 USD....
@@TheJustinHit How is it holding up? considering it.
You're Easily the best at this type of content, and you're consist
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
Nice, it'll fit right into the pocket of my JNCO jeans right next to all of my Creed CDs. Another banger of a review 👺
Sandwich it right there between your burned Everclear and Semisonic albums.
Idk 8 inches is pretty above average if you ask me
Like the watermelon theme, still havent pulled the trigger on an all button stick. Thank you for showing us all kinds of options!
Hey thanks! All-button stuff is definitely a different beast over conventional joysticks, so I get where you're coming from. I'll showcase some more options in the future. Thanks for watching!
been looking for a good budget small all button controller while getting muscle memory with keyboard for SF6 and Tekken 7 & 8. I wanted a snackbox but the price wasnt it for me. Dope coverage. Thank you.
Glad I could help! More reviews coming soon that might also be up your alley! Thanks for watching!
My experience trying to get my hands on this controller:
- I see this video
- I check the website and it's sold out
- I join the waitlist
- I check the website 18 minutes after it goes back in stock
- It's already sold out again
This must be what people who wanted a PS5 had to go through a couple years ago
lol that sucks, dude. I'm gonna try to knock out a vid soon about how to build your own, so if you still haven't got one in a couple weeks, you've got another solution. Hope you get one next time though.
Super super sorry. We're doing our best to catch up to demand. We recently moved sales to our own website and imposed a queueing system to allow for people to have more opportunity to get what they want with the customizations they want without having to be so rushed.
I was looking between this leverless and the Neobox on etsy (which is just an extended design horizontally). Awesome video
Hey, thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!
i went with a bumblebee theme, black base with black attack buttons and yellow movement buttons, simple but looks cool!
Right on! Sometimes simple is best.
I got Bridget MX in preparation for SF6. I was a little worried at first about it being flimsy because I've never handled anything 3d printed before but was presently surprised by how sold it feels. It was plug and play since SGF ships them out with the most recent firmware. My only gripe is a personal one because it is unfortunately too small for me to play with comfortably. I've tried different positions but my hands always cramp up.
Yeah, it's more solid than you'd think with a 3d print. It's unfortunate about your hands. It's a very small unit, so that may be why.
I'm sorry about your size issues - on the other hand, I'm a small dude so I'm thinking this might be perfect for me. Is that a correct assumption?
Great video as always, I'm very interested in these all button GP2040 controllers and would love to see you cover more like the bento box
More to come! I'll look more into the Bento box. Is that a UK exclusive? Might be more difficult for me if so.
Would love to see a tutorial video on building a flatbox style controller!
I'll look into it.
Interesting how they're using 3D printing on their manufacturing processes. Allows them to build these on demand. The downside is that it's relatively slow to print each shell and set of buttons.
Yeah, I think the material helps keeps costs lower than some alternatives, and that print-on-demand helps give everyone the colors they want. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, right now the 3D printing is what's holding us back from meeting demand. But it also provides a ton of flexibility for new ideas, so we're going to stick with it. However, we're going to be scaling significantly with hardware to allow us to catch up to demand by the end of the year.
They are out of shop at the moment but god damn I want one and this is probably the best and cheapest option for canada!
I think they are planning a big resupply drop on the 26th of this month for both of their controllers. Good luck grabbing one, but if you somehow miss it, you can also just get the PCB and then print your own enclosure. It's a bit more work, but will save some money.
Wow I’m so glad I stumbled on this vid cuz I’m boutta buy this; u earn a urself sub
🙏🙏🙏 Hey, thanks for watching/commenting! Stay tuned for more fightstick nonsense from this channel.
thanks so much for your interest!
They also sell separated parts if you want to 3d print your own controller
great video mate!
Appreciate ya!
great review!
Thanks for watching/commenting! It helps!
I went with cf grey black buttons and red or no led dont matter. I know in hind sight should went black case with red green and white buttons so i could theme spawn but its all good
Right on! I've seen a few pretty cool Spawn-themed sticks over the years. He's got that iconic color scheme going.
@@HushMySweet1 i have every comic book besides ratios or con exclusives collections worth 9 to 15k so i spawn theme everything. You probably see my te2 with spawn on it with clear caps for artwork on the buttons and clearish green balltop but. Im excited to get the sgf zappa curious to see how they got the fusion into there pcb. Really really do hope noe prez will work with sgf to get a footises option.
They always sold out how did you get it?
@@BattleBrotherCasten They were doing daily restocks, but that was hard on their work/life balance, so now they are restocking weekly or twice weekly. Check in on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They said in their discord yesterday that Saturday will be their next restock this week. Good luck.
Lol the name of this channel always cracks me up but regardless this stick is a good cheap option for those that don't want to spend the big bucks just to try out stickless
lol, it's my gamertag (I played Vega and had to bleed the opponents real quiet-like). I originally envisioned this channel as being equal parts fighting game video essays, fighting game theme song remixes, and fightstick tips/breakdowns (with some of my own gameplay footage sprinkled in for fun). But as it went along, I found the most success with the fightstick content so it's definitely skewed more that way. All good though. I like fightsticks and I'm happy to help people learn more about them. Thanks for watching!
Its sold out but im seeing yhe same type but its called the mm desgin flatbox on etsy do you think i woukd get the same thind
They are having a big restock of their devices today at 3PM EST. So if you're interested, you could wait until then to place an order. The Bridget is basically a version of the Flatbox, so if you like that aesthetic and can't wait, there are other seller options. I have another video on this channel sort of walking you through the general idea of building a Flatbox yourself. All depends on what you can spend and how much you value your time. Anyway, thanks for watching and I hope you get the exact controller you want.
@@HushMySweet1 alrighty thank you so much
I love new all button controller options. I would like to know how it handles slide mashing the buttons like for versus games (ex. mashing supers for more damage)? Usually for 3d printed keycaps the keys will get snagged on your hands while trying to slide against the caps.
Good question! I feel like you're right on the money when it comes to the feel of 3d printed caps. Like, I don't mind them, but they are not ideal for slides and other weird inputs. You could buy a set of smoother caps from someone like Junk Food Arcade and they should fit just fine on these. You could also change up the material with the print. I should have had PCBWay print me some resin caps along with the enclosure halves now that I think about it. Ah well. Next time!
@@HushMySweet1 Thank you for the quick reply! I look forward to snagging one of these to show my support. I only asked this as I have experience with the snackbox micro caps popping off. I had a feeling that these weren't meant for so many inputs in rapid succession. I'm still trying to find the perfect portable leverless option so keep up the great work!
So whats the ethics behind selling an open sourced design? I had printed up one of these for myself a few months back, and I was contemplating whether or not I should sell some, but to me it just feels scummy making a profit on someone else's work. I haven't seen Jfedor post anything about it so I guess there is that, but even then it still gives me a weird feeling.
You'll have to carefully read the licensing stuff on boards or PCBs you want to produce (even more carefully if you plan to sell because some label as non-commercial). I believe jfedor's plans are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 and a user is free to remix, transform, and build upon the material
for any purpose (even on commercial levels), but you'll need to go down that rabbithole yourself. INAL.
We've actually coordinated with jfedor a bit on this. We updated his original designs and released our own designs open source under the same license. We also donate a portion of our revenue back to the GP2040-CE contributors (and charities they select, for those that don't want payment). If you'd like to make them, go for it! The MIT license is there for that reason :)
Would have been perfect for me who just want to try out a button box style controller. Sadly I live in EU and with shipping and customs I'd pay more than double of its original price.
You said I could build one myself. Where can I get that pcb? I have a few keyboard switches laying around and I have friends who can help me 3d print a case. So if I can get a PCB then I could perhaps build one myself.
Check out user jfedor2 and the flatbox on Github for the PCB information. This thing is essentially a Flatbox.
shipping for eu is 20 bucks for the bridget. so it would be like 150 dollars for a bridget the cable and shipping
@@electronicdreams.9870 Ok it might not be literally double in cost. But you need to add import tax to that whole sum. I live in Sweden so it's an extra 25% just in tax. It ends up close to double it's original cost.
great video dude. i gotta ask, do you think the "footsies" that was made for the snackbox macro would work with this?
Hey, thanks! I don't think the "footsies" will work though. Not as they are anyway. I held up the Micro with this unit just for you, to get a visual comparison. And clearly wrong size, screw count, etc. The creator of the "footsie" does a variety of 3d printed upgrades though, so you could ask (or show that there is interest) about a future footsie which is compatible with the Flatbox.
so sick
Right on! Thanks for watching!
@@HushMySweet1 thank YOU dude
How did you get the color scheme customized? Did you have to message them directly?
This was a review copy so I didn't go through the etsy order page, but I believe you'll just select the color(s) you want on that and then leave a note in the order with the color details. They also have an active discord to field questions like this if you want to double-check there. Thanks for watching.
@@HushMySweet1 cool thanks
I have 2 questions: Where is a good place to get backup keycaps? Anytime I search for them I get keyboard keycaps 😅 And two, what switches do you recommend using? The seller I am currently looking at has kailh low profile switches. I don't like tactile switches, so the less noise the better. Ty. P. S anyone can answer, it doesn't have to be OP.
1) The files are available for free to print, so if you can source a 3d printer or use a library, you can go that route. Otherwise, you can probably message these guys on their discord for some new caps. 2) There are tons of low profile variants. Linear are the best for fighting games IMO. I have a whole other video about different low profile switches you should check out. I prefer dark yellows, but that's not an overly common pick. Check out the vid to hear all of the main types.
@@HushMySweet1 Thank you for your response.
where you buy that sweet mouse pad?
That's the custom art/animation for the synthwave portion of this channel back when it featured some fighting game OST remixes. I've gone much harder into fightstick content because that's what the audience responded to the best. I really liked it and still wanted to use it, so found some site that claimed they could make a mousepad in any size and here we are: a fun review and part assembly backdrop. Anyway, thanks for watching!
This seems like the most portable out of them all yeah?
They don't get much smaller than this. I think there are some slightly smaller ones that use computer keycaps, but I have zero experience with them. This one is super tiny and easy to transport if that's a priority.
Jfedor is truly the man. I'm using one of his designs too❤
Right on!
Sad it's PC/PS4 only. I was hoping to get this for SF6 on PS5 but, if I ever get a PC that can run it this is definitely a stickless controller I'd look into
Well, I'm hopeful one day that people perfecting the firmware these things are running, will solve the PS5 mystery and you'll simply be able to update the firmware for PlayStation 5 compatibility. Might be a long ways off though, IDK. Anyway, fingers crossed you'll eventually get to try one on SF6.
We've got an option for PS5 -- Zappa -- but it is more expensive due to the extra cost of the internals required for it.
Looks nice but as always with most stick makers they have nothing listed on the store.
That's bad luck on the timing of this video, but they have been pretty good about opening up new windows to order. Check back within a couple of days and I'm sure you'll see them available to order again. Thanks for watching/commenting!
They restock the bridget about once or twice a week. Hes had to cut back as it interers with his main job but he ships fast and has only whats in stock so ur not waiting 2 months.
@@HushMySweet1 Will do. Been looking for a few custom sticks(ie.. snackbox) recently and just getting frustrated with how nothings ever in stock. Hopefully this one is back soon.
@@Adalwolf17 next weekend the bridget will be in stock. They need more fusion boards for the Zappa
How are people using these with the PS5? Hitbox style noob here.
You'll need a Brook Wingman converter with something like this.
is this just resell from aliexpress? with double price?
They are based on the same stuff, so they are pretty similar. The Aliexpress ones have their own firmware and such, and there are other minor QOL differences, but they are like 95% the same, yes. You can check them out on github to see a full list of differences.
Ikr it just looks like any Flatbox that you can find in there, also has the same compatibilities consoles wise. The only pro I see in the bridget is color costumization, but it costs 2x the price of what you can find on the market so Idk if that's worth it
Looking on their Etsy. They are sold out... Is that just do to the SF6 hype? Or is the company no longer taking orders?
SF6 hype. They typically restock twice a week (Wed and Sat), but their last batch of 50 sold out within 7 minutes. I think they are doing their best to try and keep up with demand, but they are slammed right now. Consider joining their discord if you want to be notified of restocks.
Thank you for the quick response!
Is the feedback good on the control does it feel good to play
It feels very similar to a keyboard. It's all hot-swappable though, so if you don't like the default switch option, you can change to something more in your wheelhouse.
Does this do well on ps4 without needing to reauthenticate every few minutes?
They are currently PS4 compatible right out of the box. So should be good.
Does it work with Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch?
The open source GP2040-CE-based firmware is compatible with XInput (PC/Steam Deck), DirectInput (PS3), PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
Hitting over 100° down by me; I sure could go for some watermelon.
Stay cool, V, stay cool.
would you like to review my slab mini?
Sure, hit up my email and we can figure it out.
Anyone know how long the waitlist is currently?
They don't do waitlists. They just drop stock (usually on Weds and Sats) in batches of 50 and sell them until they're gone. All 50 were gone in just 7 minutes last time, but I just checked their discord for you and it looks like they are dropping the next batch tomorrow at 11:00 AM.
@@HushMySweet1 What about custom color orders? Do I just wait until first thing Wednesday morning and put in the order?
@@GayCrayola If you know what colors you want, I'd have it ready to copy/paste right into the order comment box. But I probably wouldn't wait around to type and reflect on the options, just because they are selling so fast. Add one to your cart and buy immediately. Then, after the dust has settled, I'd look at the base color you got, think about what buttons would look good on it, and settle on a theme from there. Then, I'd reference my order number and ask them nicely on discord if you could get XYZ colored caps or whatever.
@@HushMySweet1 That's what I was doing! using MS Paint to test out colors to have ready. Thanks for the info man!
can you swap the bottom ?
In what way? They are standard 3d-printed cases with four little sticky feet. You could add some of your own foam padding or something, but it's not a service they offer at this time. Edit: Or do you mean use a different half piece? I don't see why not.
@@HushMySweet1 the switche of this pad boss, and the 100$ price is all in?, i mean not the empty case? thxs boss
@@jagwar08 They sell the units with low profile red linear switches, but you can swap them to whatever kind you want yourself. The $100 price point is for the whole unit ready to go with the colors you chose (shell, switches, caps, PCB...all assembled and ready to play), shipped and out the door. You will likely need to grab a USB-C cable if you don't have one, but the unit itself should be good to go when it arrives.

It’s ridiculous that anytime I find these, the companies just always show, “Sold out.” If there is such a demand, why hasn’t anyone else started to mass produce these type of things?
SF6 has been crazy on the smaller fightstick makers. These guys dropped a batch of 50 a couple days ago and the full set was sold out within 7 minutes. So! It will take me two weeks to cut out a video showing you how to make and assemble your own one of these if that will interest you.
@@HushMySweet1Really? That would be great and I’d be really interested in seeing an instructional video, though I’m a big fan of the WASD layout.
@@alexsmith6914 Hmm...Have you looked into the Odin V2 or the Cardimod? Both are arrow key-style replacements that drop-in to standard joystick holes and install with relative ease. If you already have a fightstick, you can change out the lever for one of those. Just more food for thought for ya.
It's insane, really. And we're really sorry we can't keep up, but we're making big moves to try to meet demand. In the meantime, we've moved to selling on our own website and having a queueing system for each restock to allow people a bit more breathing room.
Does this include the usb cable
SGF discontinued the Bridget version in this video. Their new one is the TYPE F with a few little upgrades. It looks like the USB needs to be purchased separately now. sgfdevices.com/products/sgf-bridget-type-f
How does a slide 360 work on that? looks rough
Yeah, the 3d-printed button caps are going to be rougher for some advanced input techniques. I think they have to be like this to keep the price low. Injection-molded stuff is much spendier. They have a version with what looks to be better quality buttons (the Zappa), but I haven't tried it myself just yet. Thanks for watching.
@HushMySweet where did you find the files?
There are several variations of the Flatbox online. These are the Bridget ones from SGF on Github: github.com/sgfdevices
From the casual point of view it's funny how the fighting games did whole 360 around with gamepads. there were a times when someone playing on keyboard was a total noob and here were having keyboards with less buttons being the new hot thing even to the point of saying that this is cheating.
The times they are a-changin'.
needs extra buttons for parry,di, fake button
Not necessarily the short cuts so impeded in my mind i dont see why id them them lol
I mean last two could are di and parry already
Does it works on Xbox Series or not?
Out of the box, the unit itself runs on GP2040-CE firmware which is compatible with PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Steam Deck, MiSTer, and Android. For Xbox stuff, I think you'll likely need a Wingman XB 2 universal controller converter.
What switches does it use?
Kailh Choc (v2) switches, but it's all hot-swappable if you want something different. I believe their default is red if I remember correctly.
@@HushMySweet1 correct -- we stock reds :)
Damn. Everything is sold out. Good on them for that. Hopefully you got a cut or you got compensated for promoting their product.
They gave me this unit for free for an honest review, and I'm always happy to look at fun controllers, so it's all win:win.
Already sold out 😥
They do frequent restocks, so don't lose faith. Check back in two days. All the fightstick makers are slammed right now, but I know these guys are moving through these orders as quickly as they can.
I bought his on Aliexpress for $50 USD....
Definitely a good alternative! All these parts are open source.
why do you sound like mr sujano
I only wish my voice was as sultry, lol. Thanks for watching!
Lol, you have a good voice, and thank you for the good video !
Decent price for a hit box... but it looks so cheaply made that $100 actually looks very expensive for what it is...
You can build a Flatbox (which essentially is what this is) for cheaper of course, but lots of people aren't going to have 3d-printed access or be tech-savvy enough to accomplish that. I think this aims to be a more convenient option for a lot of players.
@@HushMySweet1 thats a fair argument! I guess there is that...
It costs around 50 from AliE, the rest you're paying for customer service and the speed of shipping from a US warehouse
We don't really think of ourselves as selling a bunch of materials put together because we release our designs open source, too. If you'd like to make your own, go for it! Really we're selling our time putting them together, and most of all, our customer service. We work for way under minimum wage (technically this has cost us waaaaaay more than we've had in revenue) but it's really fun and we're trying to be the change we want to see within the FGC.
The prices of these things are insane... 250+ for a 3D printed shell with like 20 buttons. Such a big scam haha
These 3d printed ones like you see in this video are $100 shipped. Or you can assemble them yourself for cheaper (it's a bit more tedious and you may end up with more than you want, but you could likely halve that price again). The more traditional fightsticks and hitbox-style controllers can be $250 or more. A lot of the expense is in the fanciness of the enclosure and the system compatibility. So you would never see a device like the one in this vid marked at $250. I don't think I've ever seen a 3d-printed anything go that high.
Or you can use your keyboard
True.
Out of stock 😢
Dang. They restocked 50 units earlier today too. Maybe join their discord to get a heads up on future stock drops?
Dog the audio is so much louder than you own voice
I'll look into it next time. I typically learn something every video, so we'll see if I can't find that magical sweet spot of bg audio and voice over audio. Thanks for watching all the same.
wish it had 2 extra thumb buttons for tony hawk games
And just like every other all button controller...out of stock!
Unfortunate timing on my video, but these guys typically restock every few days, so if it's sold out right now, check back soon. I know all the fightstick people are swamped with orders due to the influx from SF6 right now. I'd still bet you could have one of these units by the end of the week though.
@@HushMySweet1 Hopefully my dude. Dying to try an all button for the first time but I don't wanna pay some of the crazy prices. $100 is the best I've seen.
Aliexpress have a key box for 60$ it’s keyboard button but in hit box layout. That what I’m trying first.
sold old for a huge amount of time already
Their discord says they will have another restock on Saturday.
Im still tryna get and or make my first arcade stick or all button controller. I play on an xbox series. Im interested in learning abt how to make an affordable one for the xbox because my budget is quite small :/
You could look into padhacking an existing 3rd party controller, but those can get complicated and you'll need some soldering skills. Good luck with your project!
