    Hi, since the cut-off grades are 87.5, does that refer to the individual grades or the general average itself? Thank you so much.

    • @vamsip959
      @vamsip959  3 роки тому

      For A levels in Singapore, they have a rank points system. Using that metric, you have to hit 87.5 which accounts for all your core subjects. If you are interested, you could do a quick search online!

    • @vamsip959
      @vamsip959  3 роки тому +1

      Hey yes that's generally the case for everyone but prospective local medical students have the option of defering their national service to post medical school. They will then serve as medical officers

    • @renderz8435
      @renderz8435 7 місяців тому

      no pathway to USA. Duke nus has time and again re-iterated that their training is catered to futre clinicians to contribute back in singapore. It is almost unheard of people using duke nus as a stepping stone to USA residencies. USA residencies favor USA med schs (MD over DO and carribbean) and duke nus is not a USA med school. there is also a bond needed to be served in sg upon graduation for at least 4y

      Hey yup, you can apply to the graduate program at Duke NUS medical school. If I were in your position, I wouldn't be too hopeful as the number of spots available for the graduate program is limited. I would apply to a mix of Duke-NUS and UK medical schools. Hope that answers your question :)

    Great information and very clearly explained. Thanks so much Vamsi. Can you suggest more BMAT resources that might be useful, other than medify and BMAT Ninja? Thanks

    • @vamsip959
      @vamsip959  3 роки тому

      Hey thank you! When I prepared for my BMATs, I used BMAT ninja primarily but Medify is a great alternative too. They have sufficient questions to practice from (you really don't need more than that). But if you do there are plenty of good hardcopy books especially the 700 BMAT practice questions book by ISC medical. Watching UA-cam videos on how to approach certain questions can also be beneficial!

Just remember that starting early is extremely important, and last but not least along with studying hard, please
      enjoy your school life too. Remember to take breaks and appreciate your secondary school experience. Good luck and i wish you all the best! :)
