Hey , I’m a medical student in China and I’m planning to complete my residency and work as a doctor in Singapore . Can you please do a video talking about the procedures for a non Singaporean doctor that I should follow to apply for it , living cost and expenses if you know . Thank you . Waiting for your answer .
Hi! I’m a student entering JC and I was wondering if there’s any extra work I have to do to get into a medical school. Would i just have to score well for a levels and take the BMAT test? I’m also curious if there’s a need to study for the BMAT test and if it’s possible to take the BMAT test a year after a levels?
In terms of basic requirements yes it’s simply just scoring well and taking the BMAT. If you want to increase your chances I would say do some volunteering, attend some medical conferences, get some leadership roles etc. YES please study for the BMAT there are loads of test papers and the questions every year are quite similar for the mcq portions. Ofc u can take it after A levels although that means you’ll be taking a gap year, if that’s what u want however then go ahead! Good luck!
So for overseas doctors it depends on which school u were from. Singapore has a list of medical schools which they can give “conditional license”. Then based on certain contract rules you have to serve some conditions (e.g I believe it’s like 2 years of basic housemanship but don’t quote me on that) then you can be given a formal licence. I’m not entirely sure if there is any tests but from my understanding I don’t think so. It’s quite different from the US system. We only have to do our Mbbs and don’t have to do extra exams like that to be formally licensed.
Thank you for this valuable information. And Am gonna do some research about it. For helping others I hope you the best of luck in your medical journey. ♥
Hihi I believe that they look at both? I have some friends with straight As but they’re BMAT wasn’t fantastic and they didn’t get an interview invitation. Although this is just from my own personal experience…
Can u pls tell if there are indian international students studying mbbs in Singapore.. how should we as indian international students apply .. how long is mbbs in Singapore. Is there any bond in scholarship? What is the syllabus for BMAT ? At what age do usually people study medicine ? After mbbs what is the post graduate program ? If there is bond in scholarship then can we complete the bond after pg (ms surgery) ??
Hi there! I will complete my first year mbbs in june and want to take a transfer in Singapore from second year. Can you suggest anything that could help me with this? I dont know anything and am still in the research phase.
Hihi unfortunately I’m actually not that familiar with this. I’m not sure if the school currently has in place any means to transfer. Maybe you could go to the school’s website and email them directly to know more :)
Hi, I want to apply to Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore can you tell me the tuition fees for international students also how can i register for the BMAT test? thanks
Hihi sorry for the late reply, you can check out my other video on “how much it costs to study medicine in Singapore” for the tuition fees and you can just go to the BMAT website to read up on how to register!
The school says that nothing is required per say but if you have experiences in hospital shadowing, doctor shadowing (e.g. working as a clinic assistant in a GP) or research experience, its good to put it in your portfolio and bring it up during interviews because it shows that you are dedicated to the field and you are interested in pursuing it as a career. Personally I have no such work experience at all so its nice if you have it but not a necessary criteria.
Sorry,,, but the school does not release minimum requirements in terms of actual scores or grades, they say "good pass" so I would encourage you to aim for the highest grade you can to increase your chances!
Hi!! I am interested to apply to ntu med and i am a poly student taking biomedical engineering. However, i fear that my gpa wouldnt make the cut off points my gpa is 3.6. Just wondering what is the estimate gpa required to enter ntu med because based on ntu igp med is an #
Hi I want to ask if I want to apply with my IB score but my I will take IB examination on May so that's mean I need to apply for the next year or can I apply on the same year?
IB is an interesting one. Basically you have to apply by the March deadline like everyone else, take the exam in May then submit your IB results by a deadline in July (all in the same year). www.ntu.edu.sg/admissions/undergraduate/admission-guide/international-baccalaureate-diploma You can read more here if you're interested!
@@MokuKimMed so I don't need to have a gap year? Because I ever read on the website that NTU will not accept predicted score so from where they will score me to be able to enter NTU or not?
No I don't think you need to take a gap year. I have friends in school who took IB and are the same age as me. I asked them about their process as well and they told me they used predicted scores.
Hi! I heard that taking physics in jc opens up more courses in uni. I’m planning to study medicine in uni, and im not sure now whether I should take bio or physics. I personally prefer bio more but does this mean that taking bio would limit the courses I have in university? 😅
For medicine it doesn’t matter whether you take bio or physics. Mm I don’t think taking bio would limit your course options. Most courses are very open about subject combinations so I think you should just go with whatever you prefer!

Is there a system for the foreign doctors who wants to work in Singapore like USMLE in America.
So for overseas doctors it depends on which school u were from. Singapore has a list of medical schools which they can give “conditional license”. Yes ofc. You need to be taking a health science related diploma though.
