Story 1: I dont condone this Karen's actions at all, but it honestly didn't surprise me that it happened. Mid-aged, heavy-set, anti-LBTGQ evangelical in the mid-west..... yeah, that doesn't surprise me in the least. Good on pastor John for both standing up for his daughter and her gf in front of everyone in the church, as well as putting that dumb Karen in her place. I hate it when people use their "faith" to hurt others like this, and if anyone is going to burn, its the Karen, not Samantha, her gf, or any of the other church members. Story 2: OP is not a jerk at all here, and if it were me, i probably would've doe the same thing here. Jay was just an annoying jerk here from start to finish, regardless of him being drunk. I bet Jay would've been furious if the OP said anything about the USA. I also doubt that Jay was even Irish at all... just used it as a cheap cop out for his BS. Story 3: No way is the OP a jerk here and i think the friend is blind to what potentially could happen at a party dressed like that. This isn't some weird rich person thing.... many people have fetishes for people dressed a certain way, and they are likely hoping that they will "put out" while wearing those, and if not, they will probably resort to illegal ways to do it. The OP needs to avoid these kinds of parties and the people associated with them. Its a nightmare waiting to happen. If your friend is acting this way, then she really isn't much of a friend to begin with. She is blind by his money and status. Story 4: Ugggh, i hate stories like this and we hear them all the time. Just buy your seats ahead of time to make darn sure you are sitting beside the person you're with. The OP did so, so why didnt this old fart? If i were the flight attendant, the second the lady threatened to sue the OP, i would've thrown them off the flight. Just because you are old, does NOT mean you deserve special treatment and definitely do NOT deservce any respect. Story 5: Nope, not an overreaction at all here. You don't just "meet" someone in the bathroom, like, come on here, and the fact she's constantly deleting messages from this guy is pretty much a clear sign that there is an emotional affair going on here, assuming that it hasn't already turn physical... and if it has, get a divorce and get away from her. Story 6: OP is not a jerk at all here... and honestly, why would you ever want to wear anyone else's wedding dress to your own wedding? To each their own i suppose... but dont try to force or guilt-trip someone to take yours or someone else's dress.
First story. Love how they keep saying that god takes no exceptions but they try and force others away just because of their own views... Like, doesn't the BIBLE basically say to never hate on others just because???
The Irish are a proud people, we fought the British and won out country and are one of the most friendly countries in the world. Anyone who makes fun of someone for being Irish or fakes being Irish deals with all of us
The last story. The OP isn't the jerk if OP's mom and dad have a tradition to honor Mia's memory and are fine with it then okay , it's their business. The OP doesn't have to honor that tradition or carry it with his soon to be wife.
Story 1- at my church a while back someone, we still have no idea who, left several flyers of anti-LGBTQ+ material in various rooms across the church campus, especially Sunday school rooms. Our pastor went on a tear across the campus furiously gathering the flyers and angrily stating those were not the views of his church. It remains the only time I ever saw him angry and honestly I hope never to see that again.
People really need to learn to ask kindly and take no for an answer… especially when it’s not a big deal. There are some situations where it’s understandable to be frustrated or upset but all of those situations have one thing in common: The person saying no is in the wrong in those cases. Example: Someone took your seat and you double check and confirm it is your seat. You have a small child or another dependent so you need to be next to them. You politely explain this to the person in your seat but they refuse to move to their seat. *Then it’s understandable to get upset or frustrated. But if it’s their seat and you want it you need to take the no and move on.*
Story 4: Honestly, if I'd been the flight attendant, the moment that both of the older passengers teamed up to pressure OP I would have thrown them both off the flight, because I would expect them to act hostile toward the OP for the duration of the flight, as the elderly husband eventually did by blocking the OP's daughter from using the restroom. I wanna say that's actually policy on some airlines (or at least, that in this situation, parties with a dispute are not supposed to sit near each other), for this exact reason.
That first story. Which church is it. Seems like my kinda home♡ my church recently got a new pastor and dude invited a homophonic bigot preaching about "the gays are bad I hate the gays" I haven't gone back. And my father loved this church, I grew up in this church. I'd love to find a church that just cares and is not about judgey hate man
Keep in mind that Jesus more than anything got into conflicts with the scribes and Pharisees, groups that thought themselves holy and acted like they were better than everyone else because of their self-righteousness. Heck, they were a leading force in crucifying him. Not to mention the core tenet of Evangelical Christianity tends to be that the only deciding factor of whether you got to Heaven or Hell is the blood of Jesus Christ. By the sound of it, the daughter quite well had accepted him as her lord and savior.
I want to say this argument of all you never actually lived somewhere or you’ve never been to this country means you’re not that race no, that is not what it means your race is not where you’re from it’s your culture for example, I’ve never been to Mexico But I’m part Mexican and just cause I haven’t been to Mexico. Someone can’t say that I’m not Mexican that is my nationality nationality is not where your fruit is not about if you ever lived there or ever visited so that argument is so stupid to say oh, because you never been to like this example, Ireland means you’re not Irish no it does not, and I don’t like that cop out.
John 8:7-11 So when they continued asking him, he (Jesus) lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
@@hasnarvaez875 Leviticus 18:22 "you shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination". God cast the first stone, He's the one who says it's wrong. Who are you to say it's not? You can't pick and choose which parts of the bible to believe. You either believe all of it or none of it. Yes, God is a God of love, but he's also a God of righteous fury and vengeance and God does hate. He's very clear about the things He hates.
@clericofchaos1 I am not, but I know that as a child of God that i can not pass judgement on a human being, only the creator has that right. I love my brothers & sisters who are children of the Almighty even if they stray from the path, then i do what I can, if I can to show them the road. Judgement lies with the lord not his children.
@clericofchaos1 Matthew 7 : 1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

I've been agnostic for 40-45 years now (I'm 63), but if I were to attend a church some day it would be one run by somebody like pastor John.
Story 3: OP needs better friends, but also that friend is going to get assaulted. That situation is the biggest blood red flag ever flown:
Agreed, and the 'friend' doesnt see that because all she sees is his money and status.
I needed story 1 to restore a little of my faith in humanity and christianity today. Thank you.

Last story..... It's not the worst disagreement to be having before a wedding 😂
At lot people not want pay extra money for the seat. This guy just a bully
This guy just a bully and because he rich this he can want she want
yep
Don't care is second of third, this video is just cool
This Karen for gets in the stone to death for adultery and Jesus said “who have no sin throw the first stone” on one have thrown a stone

You know in regards to story one, the ones who scream a homophobic rant are usually gay themselves and they are just self projecting onto others.
In regards to story 1: love does not mean approval or tolerance.
For the maid costume story: So she has the "right attitude " by saying no and being combative? Anyone else hearing date r*pe alarm bells?
Maid costumes story it wouldn’t surprise me if it wasn’t a theme party but a setup for op and friend to actually be the maids

I totally agree with the karen in the 1st story
Story 1: I can’t blame the Karen tbh being gay is an insanely bad thing
Story 1: Who does Karen think she is to judge others? Her opinion isn't valid and she should keep it to herself if no one asked.
Karen is closeted and she is projecting onto others, because that is usually the way with homophobic people.

Be careful does some big towing people want people? They should be nicer to gay girls or gay boys they can be any thing they want to be.❤

As she should, it's exactly how a proper Christian should behave, as anyone defending that stuff is obviously not too familiar with the bible.
