very beautiful Christian hymn, Jesus is the only way to eternal life, He is your friend who will help you to the end, believe & trust in God, He will help you to eternal victory & the burden will be lifted, you'll be a new creature
Sounds like you may believe that we can be saved by simply “accepting Jesus as my personal savior”. Where is that found in the scriptures? Many people who have similar beliefs about salvation will use the following verse as a proof text for how we are saved from our sins. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJVS [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we are told; [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. From that passage we can see quite clearly that the entire Bible is written by individuals who were inspired by the Holy Spirit and from God Himself. Very important to understand that knowing all scriptures is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness and sufficient for the man of God to be perfected in Gods sight. Knowing all of this what is happening when we see two different passages that seem to contradictory to each other? Immediately we should know that the problem isn’t a contradiction of Gods word. It’s a problem with our understanding of one or both passages, The denominational world has overwhelming fallen to the false conclusion that salvation is by faith through grace can be shown to be true by the Ephesians passage above. But how can that passage be harmonized with the dozens and dozens of passages teaching that faith alone isn’t sufficient. James 2:14,17,20,24,26 KJVS [14] What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? [17] Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? [24] Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. [26] For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Finally if the sinners prayer is not found in scripture and claiming that it’s how we can be saved. The following verse has a large number of people who would clearly have been considered saved by denominations that teach the sinners prayer. They definitely had faith. Gods grace is freely given so that’s the 2 pieces in Eph 2 verses. Read below: Matthew 7:21-23 KJVS [21] Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. These people would be considered saved by Baptist denominational teachings along with many others. But what did Jesus say the problem was? He said calling on his name would be enough. He said the they didn’t “do” the will of the Father and were guilty of working in iniquity. Which is to say without authority or outside of the prescribed teaching in Gods word. Many people who have found themselves in the denominational world are not familiar with the entire New Testament teachings and are just listening to what they are being told by a human being who has taught them many things that are false and easy to discredit if someone knows scripture. The extremely massive number of different beliefs and teachings who are calling themselves Christians. When differing doctrines are brought up and shown to be different from the biblical teachings the very common claim that they try to make is that those differences are not “foundational teachings.” That as long as we all agree Christ is Gods son and he sacrificed himself to save us from our sins. The other stuff is just details and nothing to argue over. We all preach Christ. The answer to that should scare these people into start studying their Bibles and search the scriptures to verify what is being taught to you. Galatians 1:6-9 KJVS [6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. [9] As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. I pray you are motivated to consider the evidence I have pointed you towards. According to Galatians 1:6-9 contradictory teachings and differing doctrine is sufficient evidence proving that only one doctrine will lead to truth and ALL other doctrines and teachings will lead to the destruction of those who practice and teach them. Galatians 1:6-9 KJVS [6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. I remember being at my Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house, 6:30 every Saturday evening to watch Hee Haw with them...Loved it when the Gospel Quartet came on..We'd have either Barq's Root Beer or Coke floats...Barq's was originally made right down the road from them in Biloxi, MS...They are all gone now, But the things they taught me about the Lord, and their memories, will live on in me forever....Thank you for posting....

This is my favorite of all the gospel songs they sing.Wonderful words and beautiful harmony.
My family's favorite part of the show was when they would sing the gospel music at the end. And my favorite as well.
God bless you and your families and the next time you will be able to see them in the heaven
Love this hymn. It's a shame you don't hear songs like this anymore. Now, it's praise songs that I really don't care for.
