At my age of 62 I grew up listening to these very talented men! Now they all have gone home and I can only imagine the reunion they have constantly! These men had more talent and godliness in one strand of their hair and all the country music today will ever have in their lifetime! My mom and Dad used to frequently sing this at home when I was a lad. Dad had played in a 3-man country/bluegrass group in the 40’s. And Mom sang the backup on this song. She was a part of a singing duo “Jean and Christine” on live radio in the 40’s. The station DJ was Murray Hamilton who later became a movie actor ( he played the mayor in Jaws). How I wish I had recorded their harmonious voices, but they have “Gone Home”. As I grow older, this song frequently comes to mind. Miss you, Mom and Dad.❤️🩷❤️
What Giants these men were. And, most importantly, they didn't sell out God and religion. They INSISTED that gospel songs be performed on the show. Where are such men of Christian character today in show business? Nowhere to be found. Our beloved and cherished role models...all now GONE HOME...as their work here was done.

I've just heard my beloved Sister-in-law has passed to her great reward today 7 Oct 2024. This song was picked out of the blue I wasn't really looking for it just wanted to listen to old time gospel. Fair Sister you now are in the Lord's arm's free from pain and cancer just rest in your glorious body and you'll be remembered for our lifetime.
As a teen I helped a group of older guys paint our church interior. I found an old TEF spititual gospel album, got our old P.A. system in the building working again and piped the 33 1/3 L.P. through. Work and pure joy.
Every one of these old boys have gone home now along with the two people I loved and cherished so deeply and sit beside of watching every episode of Hee Haw, my beloved Mom and Dad. I remember the warmth I felt there with them, a feeling of being safe and loved. I know Mom and Dad are sitting with Jesus and these fine men today. RIP

We would sit together in their front room and there oldest son my uncle who lived with them would record some of the shows on his cassette player. And can remember many times we had as a treat we would have French vanilla ice cream. They have both been gone 45 years and my uncle will be gone 39 years this September. I miss them so much any time I happened to see hee haw .I still go back to those Saturday nights. Someday when my time comes to leave this world. This was when there was still a place for religious music to play a part in “entertainment”. I would watch this show with my grandparents in Windber PA, a family of coal miners. Nothing now is like it. Was it silly and cringey sometimes? Of course. But this was the last time rural America had a place in the public eye. What’s replaced it isn’t anything to be proud of imo.
