When was this recorded? I saw it in previews and it was Mandy patinkin’s show. My partner went back 6 months later and raved that she had become phenomenal. This is wonderful to see, especially since the movie and the revivals have been so flat.
People forget elaine paige was the first EVITA. She never complained or moaned about the role. She did her job and delivered a much better performance than patti. Xxxx
Patti said that 'Evita' was the worst experience of her life, but she still gave such an excellent performance.
She had a fellow cast member help her master the role and requirements.
Patti is by far the best Eva. Simply incredible.
This was remarkable and was so to, me, one of the best Broadway Musicals.
For those of you watching this for the first time, consider yourselves lucky for being able to experience the genius of Patti Lupone...
