Greatly acted as Lloyd Webber pointed out. The dynamics in her voice perfect, her vibrato controlled, exquisite performance. I wish she performed more songs like this, the style suits her so well
I just watched this video again. How did this woman not become a superstar? She has everything that a lot of superstars don't...including amazing talent.
She is on record saying she refused to sell her soul "to the devil". Meaning she stuck to her morals and values in hollywood. Superstardom in Hollywood is GIVEN not necessarily always EARNED! Some of the most talented people never hit it big...And some of the least talented people are mega stars. and FAITH is typically the problem. Her beauty is also a curse. No doubt she was a target of grooming for wealthy executives who wanted a piece. Occult hand signals are done by almost ALL huge artists....which is strange and telling. The industry is ran by the occult hidden in plain sight. Money is an evil when enough of it can buy you almost anything. The sick stories I've heard about the wealthiest in the industry will have you questioning mankind.
It is shocking how easily you can dismiss someone based on initial impressions. This girl is shocking in every way. Shockingly stunning, shockingly talented and shockingly beautiful.
She delivers what all the usual gamut of opera singers fail to do, she puts the emotion of a woman pleading into her voice. What makes this performance outstanding are the harder edges, the throatiness when it's called for, and the softness of penance. All those things we would expect to hear from a woman pleading in front of humanity. Truly one of the best performances of this I've ever heard. She didn't sing it, she lived it.
This is musical theater, not opera. Opera singers don’t sing this. Take a quick UA-cam search and you get Pati lupone, lea solanga, Madonna etc. definitely not opera singers. Opera style and technique are very different from musical theater style and technique and should not be compared. Opera singers don’t use microphones to enhance their voice so, singing as this lovely lady did so masterfully is out of the question. They have to sing in a way that allows them to be heard over an orchestra on every note in their range. So your not going to get that grittiness and naturalness that can come from a musical theater sound. However, Nicole was trained classically which shows in the warmth and even support of her voice. No nasality and harshness that you hear so much now. She sang this splendidly. Bravo Nicole.
What an unbelievable performance. Sincere without overacting. Emotional without too much talk singing. She just sounded beautiful but chose the very moments to punch it, and crushed it when she did.
Jino Espera Burgos Ok, then she would fit right in with Nea Salonga, she’s both Jasmine, and Mulan’s singing voice, the ultimate Disney princess and Filipina as well
This is her absolute best performance. The delicate soft ending to phrases, how she's caressing every small note with such detail and lending emotion to every word. Absolutely breathtaking.
I came to rewatch this after booking tickets to see her in Sunset Blvd on Broadway because l remember it's the first time l remember seeing the sheer scope of her talent.
It’s unfortunate that she’s been boxed in by the industry as a pop girl, but what many don’t know is she’s a classically trained vocalist. I agree! Broadway is def where she’ll shine.
Nicole is headed to Broadway where she will have jaws dropping on the floor as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard. Saw this mesmerizing performance in London last year and will be there again in Broadway . Nicole and the cast and were mind blowing
I discovered this in 2013. And came back again today after seeing the BTS footage of PCD’s “When I Grow Up” music video she uploaded on her insta. Absolutely divine!!!!! ❤️🇵🇭

Probably my favourite live performance by an artist ever. Period. I always find I come back to this because of how perfect it is, and how it’s as though this is the last song she will ever sing. Just speechless!
I love how she pulls out this gorgeous and powerful performance oozing with confidence but as soon as she completes it and they begin applauding she retreats a bit and goes back to being very humble and sweet and thankful.
OMG she is stunning! What a beauty. And so elegant and classy looking. It's a great rarity nowadays. She looks like a model from 1950s Vogue magazine. Lovely voice too...
Somehow she reminds me of a brunette Baroness Schraeder from the Sound of Music, with that voluptuous figure and narrow eyebrows. Yes, she's very beautiful and hugely talented.
@helen h A matter of opinion. I thought it was a beautiful, elegant dress. As for breasts "swimming" out of the dress, that style has been reappearing for hundreds of years. It's not likely to go away any time soon. Certainly there's some dresses that are just plain trashy, even with straps or full sleeves. I just saw my voice teacher perform today, wearing an off-the-shoulder gown, very tasteful and modest. I thought she looked gorgeous.
OMG I never knew the depth of her talent until this very minute. I kept getting goosebumps as she expertly hit each note flawlessly while delivering the gut wrenching emotion. Amazing!
I think this is the best version I've seen. Such control, and love the little accent touches on 'Argentina'. Edit: though an Argentine person on this thread says they don't say it like that!
This is one of the best performances in the history of musicals, even though technically is a concert, but it is what it is, simple as that... Amazing.

messed up ego unfortunately it ruined her career, she refused to sing with mickael jackson
I agree 100%!!
@@Liitebulb telling the truth puts no one down...you obviously are very immature...the reality is...you only succeed if you can sell to the teens...mostly the girl teens....of course this song will attract adults...GET IT TINY?
Greatly acted as Lloyd Webber pointed out. The dynamics in her voice perfect, her vibrato controlled, exquisite performance. I wish she performed more songs like this, the style suits her so well
Will always be one of the most beautiful women on this planet imo
I feel personally offended by how good this is.
Weird flex, but ok
The way she does the "So I choose freedom" line gives me chills every time, every element of it is spot on.
KimmimaruSai A-fkn-men!!!! I held my breath there
I just watched this video again. How did this woman not become a superstar? She has everything that a lot of superstars don't...including amazing talent.
She absolutely is a superstar….
lol she is one .. :D
Wow!
she's more famous than any broadway singer I know. lol
12 years later, still a stunning performance. Feeling old though. 😏
It is shocking how easily you can dismiss someone based on initial impressions. This girl is shocking in every way.
Shockingly stunning, shockingly talented and shockingly beautiful.
Howard Skeivys,
I totally agree with assessment of this artist, she is great!
Outstanding in every way!!!
this is as much acting as singing. can't imagine how this could be better.
It's so pure. My biceps have chills. I didn't know that could happen.
Lea Salonga
Only when sung by an angel send from heaven - ah wait thats the reason why
Best version I've heard.
This is the difference between singing a song, and *performing* a song. Truly epic!
I love her to bits. but callas also puts more emotion to operas. if h haven't watched any callas, I suggest u do.
Opera and musicals are two different things.
Why she hasn’t been around more is beyond me. She’s both a great singer and performer/dancer.
The RANGE on this woman. Far out! She's phenomenal.
What a beautiful voice I love this song nice memories still listening! how're you Renee?
She’s a story-teller. Every words straight through to heart.
Here every year to hear this marvelous performance
This is the best version....ever. Nicole Scherzinger has a fabulous voice and physically suits the role.
What an unbelievable performance. Sincere without overacting. Emotional without too much talk singing. She just sounded beautiful but chose the very moments to punch it, and crushed it when she did.
Wow...I didn't realize that she could sing so well! She should be on Broadway!!
she is the singer the in the Broadway play CATS
+Crazyjedi2 CATS isn't on Broadway here in NY. It's playing in London only, currently.
I think Attiya means that Nicole is gifted enough to grace any of numerous productions currently on Broadway
she could be a Disney Princess :)
A Latina one right?
Jino Espera Burgos but she’s not Latina
@@rhomeNmpire I knew that. She's a German / Filipino. A Filipino inspired Disney princess is highly unlikely. 😂
@@rhomeNmpire P.S. - I'm Filipino, BTW.
Jino Espera Burgos Ok, then she would fit right in with Nea Salonga, she’s both Jasmine, and Mulan’s singing voice, the ultimate Disney princess and Filipina
as well
Holy moly! This is my new favorite rendition! And i only discovered her because of all the election hoopla.
3:30 im OBSESSED with the way her voice cracks (or whatever that was in the beginning of that line), it made it sound even more powerful!
Glad I'm not the only one!
Same here
Snap!
Sometimes the human imperfections of a live performance make it more powerful
It's vibrato....and it's incredible.
Best rendition ever. Such range in her vocals. Love her renditions of other broadway musicals. Terrific singer!
Wow first time I have heard her sing, very intense women, great
Me too. Excellent!
you should watch her when she sang 'the phantom of the opera' !
MoMoMyPup10 She actually used to be the lead singer of a girl group called the Pussycat Dolls.
Marc Lloyd-Princeton
Yeah I don't call that singing...

My four year old singing this from memory was the last song my grandfather ever heard. Listening to this completely shreds me. Absolute perfection
Definitely my favourite performance of this song. She's great! How is she not doing broadway if she isn't already? I'd love to see her live.
She's been cast as Grizabella in the London revival of Cats this winter so you can see her in that!
you know nothing Jon Snow
*****
Been and seen her in Cats. She stole the show. I live in London and go to many shows but not seen anyone like her in a long time.
Barry Bullimore Same here! I got to see her twice and she was INCREDIBLE!
She was awesome in cats!! xx
Well damn! The dress. The jewels. The song. The voice. Speechless!
Patrick Bell,
Perfection at it’s best!
WOW!! Finally someone who not only has the pipes...but the acting skills also. Broadway is where she’ll shine.
Best version of this song I have ever heard
anyone in 2024? ❤
Sunset Blvd.
Texas
Philippines ❤
UK
Argentina 🇦🇷🙌❤️
I discovered this in 2013. And came back again today after seeing the BTS footage of PCD’s “When I Grow Up” music video she uploaded on her insta. Absolutely divine!!!!! ❤️🇵🇭
Performance worthy of a standing ovation!
I know I'm standing
What an incredible moment for Andrew Lloyd Webber, to hear his music sung so beautifully. Perfect !
Always said that Nicole was criminally underrated but this performance was next level. Could hear a pin drop. Her whole presence and vocals command the room. AMAZING
The voice the beauty she possess is extremely amazing
The ”one and only” version of this song, outstanding voice from God!
You’re the best of all time Nicole! ❤
I recommend the version from André Rieu and Suzan Arens. But this one here is also very beautiful
PERFECT!!
omg you were watching this 6 days ago and here i am watching this! lol love you buck!
What the buck approved, I knew I had good ears
Rgoldie1985
Yes indeed
juste parfait magnifique
4:28 - Her resonance is IMMACULATE!
Ohhh, she left me breathless.
Asking a person with a voice like this to sing silly pop music for a living, is like asking Van Gogh to paint by number for his lunch.
Analogy 👏👏👏
Perfectly said..
Because she can.
Great analogy! I'm going to have to use that some time... Thanks!
Olivia, I love this lol. I'll steal this van gogh reference 😂
Nicole is not a joke. She was always a talented vocalist.
She is not only a beautiful woman but she has an amazingly beautiful voice. She is so underrated.
I’ve been coming back to this treasure for years and years.. the greatest female performance I think I’ve ver seen.. amazing, sheer class, beauty, acting, presence Just breathtakingly beautiful in every way !!! November 2024 now
Dear NBC, ABC or Fox, we need an “Evita Live” and Nicole Scherzinger must play Eva! Thank you!
Oh my gosh yes! That is SUCH a good idea.
Perez Hilton And Family don’t be so stupid, what is needed is a person who has dedicated their life to theatre and the history of Eva peron
please
who do you pick for Che?
Oliver Delica Dulce pontes
Probably my favourite live performance by an artist ever. Period. I always find I come back to this because of how perfect it is, and how it’s as though this is the last song she will ever sing. Just speechless!
Nicole is stunning as is this beautiful rendition of a timless song. Bravo!!
One Of The Most PERFECT Performances I have ever seen
I love how she pulls out this gorgeous and powerful performance oozing with confidence but as soon as she completes it and they begin applauding she retreats a bit and goes back to being very humble and sweet and thankful.
yes I notice that. it is very profound her true humility. astonishing. very well observed
OMG she is stunning! What a beauty. And so elegant and classy looking. It's a great rarity nowadays. She looks like a model from 1950s Vogue magazine. Lovely voice too...
ptashkaful she is stunning but she wouldn't be in a vogue magazine in the 1950 because of the racism back then
She definitely didn’t look like that during her uh.. Pussycat Dolls phase. I suppose she grew up!
One of the best versions I've heard. I don't know why she isn't out there more inspiring people with her voice.
This is one of the best performances in the history of musicals, even though technically is a concert, but it is what it is, simple as that... Amazing.
Absolute perfection!!! You gotta listen to this!!
Eeh
WOW,! What a voice.
