fuck the way he looked up when the dude said 'pharmacy' sent chills down my spine as a recovering addict. like it's a little thing but it really says something, that when you're using and using as heavily as Brandon was, your existence is literally nothing but drugs. wake up, figure out how you're gonna get high, scrape up some money, go get the dope and hope it's gonna be legit and hope it'll be enough to get you through the hour-day-whatever, then you wake up the next day, realize you're out of dope and your spikes are too dull to use, and your'e back at it again until you overdose, or the people who care about you find out and send you to rehab, or your ass gets cuffed and put in the cop car and you're in jail. it's all the same. the same thing over and over again, until that lightbulb clicks on in your head from whatever makes you see the light. best of luck Novak hope you're doing well man.

Do your research but yeah it's definitely no way to live, but as long as you have your drug of choice (especially if it's alcohol or heroin) then you just stay numb to it all/numb to your life and world falling apart in front of you.

Talking shit doesn't help people who self-medicate, as most have severe mental health problems that are not being properly treated in the first place. It makes me really sad when people shame addicts and the mentally ill. It's sickening. I wouldn't wish this level of agony on my worst enemy.

i figured out about him in rehab, i’ve never heard somebody say everything i’ve ever thought but could never put in words. as a fent adict at 16 for a year and a half i stuggled and i never thought ide be sober. listing to his story has opened everything for me. he is truly my inspiration.

It is powerful and does help the men we treat to see the reality of addiction and the consequences. I think you are an inspiration to others suffering from the disease of addiction. People do not realize it is a disease that has to be continually treated to stay in remission.

He is actually one of the most deadliest, solid dudes out there and I've tried so hard to get him sober but he's in a rut and is homeless at the moment. I, myself have been sober of booze and drugs for 6 years. I hope he finds the light and gets out of the whole he's in. Would hate to see him die.

I started with three 8mg. I feel trapped because I have legit injuries from being a paratrooper in the ARMY. Physical injuries plus addiction is the sharpest of the double edged sword. I am grateful for suboxone it made it so I have control back in life and I'm not a mess drooling on myself or afraid everday if I cant score some pills. God bless everyone and never give up.
Yeah you guys played In Wilmington NC and we all partied afterwards and from the looks of this just 20 minutes outside Wilmington NC is where I’m from Brunswick county and this looks like the hospital. We had a blast that day and night I didn’t know that this happened but that was one thing I never got into luckily. Just glad to see you’re doing GREAT my friend keep up the amazing work and hope to see you again one day

Damn it: this popped up and it triggered my hurt from my husbands relapse from a work injury that shattered his elbow. Bones all messed up and needed a plate. It returned 2 years of walking through the fire and praying we’d make it out again.
Let me make this clear. It is FAR better to be depressed and struggle with your demons and work it out yourself than to "self medicate". Self medication hides the problem, it doesn't fix shit. I self medicated with alcohol for a bit. It never got too out of hand though. But after two FULL years of depression and by the time I was really starting to lose hope I'm 80% better. I fought the good fight. It isn't easy and may take a long time but going inwards is the only way to really fix anything.

Doctors these days disgust me. They have pain pills that will block out that 'high' feeling but refuse to use it on the grounds 'the pills are a little more expensive'. What we are seeing here in a perfect example of what the current main line pain killer does to someone. Good to see he still has the fight to throw that dud lighter :)

But it's like anything in life you can lead a horse to water... But if an addict ain't ready then they won't quit they'll just trade one for another over and over again. With sub I’ll taper to the smallest possible amount and when I jump off to nothing it’s even worse than methadone withdrawal. Id rather take the 7 days of hell from heroin and oxy than do these fucking maintenance drugs.

Doctors these days disgust me. They have pain pills that will block out that 'high' feeling but refuse to use it on the grounds 'the pills are a little more expensive'. What we are seeing here in a perfect example of what the current main line pain killer does to someone. Good to see he still has the fight to throw that dud lighter :)

But it's like anything in life you can lead a horse to water... But if an addict ain't ready then they won't quit they'll just trade one for another over and over again. It's a case by case person by person thing
Suboxone is just as bad. It’s true you don’t get high on it, but when you stop taking it, the withdrawals are a hundred times worse than heroin.
onlysmoketobacc ;) dude I know right... I was on methadone for a few years and tried to quit but switched to subs like 8 years ago and it sucked ass. With sub I’ll taper to the smallest possible amount and when I jump off to nothing it’s even worse than methadone withdrawal. Id rather take the 7 days of hell from heroin and oxy than do these fucking maintenance drugs.
