i remember watching this interview when it aired lita just wanted to talk about her music but erica wanted to talk about all this girl-power stuff which annoyed the shit outta lita kept expecting lita to walk out or even punch erica out for annoying lita, it got very uncomfortable to watch!!
Erica was a terrible interviewer. She did no prep work for this and it shows. She'd regularly bring her brand of politics and feminism without getting to the heart of the performer or what the viewer wanted out of the chat. Lita obviously looks uncomfortable and on trial here.
Wow...I feel like Lita was being attacked here...this was back before you could see the intentions so clearly. She was definitely trying to provoke the whole its harder for you because you are a woman and Lita was like ummm yeah I have already moved past that! Then she starts attacking how she can sing from the heart if she sings a song from another writer...just distorting everything. If you ask about her methods in songwriting why twist it back on her when you are discussing a song that was written for you.
Erica was HOT, but also came across in many interviews as a word that rhymed with that...and feels like she thinks Lita's a Bim(Dum)bo....Bascially feels like two ladies who DIDN'T feel the Vibe for each other...still feels uncomfortable watching this till this day...but, who doesn't love a Cat Fight :)
Lita SHUTS DOWN anything that might make her sound like a feminist. I wonder if that's her take now. I doubt she's telling the full truth and Erica doesn't seem to believe it either. She might have been afraid of alienating her male heavy metal audience--a pretty conservative demo. Especially in the late 80's. This is part of the change grunge brought about.
