It was a very good ppv, the Osprey match was killer, the AEW championship match was very good and Stings final match was rewarding to all WCW fans of Sting. Our face of WCW went out on top!
100% agree! Spray match stole the show, Sting had Great send off, and the Triple threat was what it needed to be to keep the Storyline going and build up to a Bigger title match by All In
I'm 100% with Eric on Eddie. I do not get the hype. Yeah he can talk but guy is trash in the ring. He's out of shape and his chops which he does overly rely on look soft. Man needs to take some time off and go for a run.
bryan danielson hasn't been top 20 in the world on his best day. He's flat out boring.
Conrad can’t wait to jump in with mitigation when anything even remotely negative is said 😂
Damage control for all the immature E-marks who can't stand competition
@@Buckdawg “competition” 😂
The first half of these matches were TV matches...It was ppv quality by Osprey match..and Overall Sting match was good..but Darby spot was completely unnecessary...but Some fans still love😂..ECDUB ECDUB STYLE STUFF
100% unnecessary. And what's worse is people are talking more about it than they are the match, and I guess the ending of the match was suppose to be awesome or something, based on how they were talking about it, but I have no idea what that ending was, because of the Darby spot taking the focus. The worse part is, it didn't help anyone. If anything, it probably hurt Darby's momementom more than help.
Sting, especially the build-up Starcade withCriw Sting, made Eric Bischoff. That is meant complimentary, I might add. It made Eric hatable and made wrestling believable for that time period. Everything clicked for everyone. I personally appreciate Eric's work during that. It all led up to last night. Sting is the Icon.
I get all the aew hate sometimes.
But Tonys love for Sting and how they treated him this entire run literally washed away wwe shitting the bed with sting.
Good job aew.
I think it is a shame that in the end Tony allowed a poor decision from Darby to potentially ruin everything. Because it was a really great build up and a really great send off, minus the Darby spot. Darby being seriously hurt, probably would have really ruined the match, and I think the spot may have ruined the match anyway, because it hurt Darby's popularity and momentum and it is all anyone is talking about, most of which is in the negative.
I love Eric since I was young sting where I was still in pull-ups and loved to hate Vince....if I had booked this end I would of had sting ascend to the rafters ...if I knew Vince was in trouble I would have had him fire himself on TV lol...but no , this was stings night and won't lie I cried ...he been my favorite since day one but soo happy he got to Finnish his career his way even after all the scares that he was done and like yall I'm happy along as he is
Don’t worry; Conrad is here to defend all of the shit AEW decisions!
The ppv was amazing. I was there live. Best show ive ever attended since 2000. The haters r butthurt because wwe cant compare to aew.
Holy smokes watching from northern Ireland Londonderry 😂 im tired now 😅
Derry, not Londonderry
Love AEW so happy to have them around and the best product for me as an adult who has also enjoyed wcw very very very much.
agreed
Indeed. AEW reminds me a lot of WCW in the 90's. Very refreshing.
You mean the mind numbing booking and storylines that go nowhere?
Love AEW...mixture of WCW and ECW. Loved them back in the day
Agreed
Love watching AEW. Thinks its doing great for a company only years old. They all expect them to perform like a 30 year old company. Lunacy

@@BEEFSERPENTI had always wondered about this. When Eric made his WWE debut and gave his first promo he said it was 84 weeks in a row, even though that promo was written for him by WWE and not his own words.
Darby f'd the flesh on his back soooo bad and Osprey nearly got paralyzed on that buckle spot.
Someone will die or get incapacitated in Aew.
The OC spot was bad as well
Ospreay is a star maker he’s gotten the only great match of Jericho in aew, now takeshita, imo this needs to be your all Atlantic champ not on every week make him special but he can make that title
He is still living in the UK. I don't think he is going to be on the show every week. I think he is going to be for a bit so they can maintain that he is doing this full time, but I think he won't wrestle every week.
I didn't watch the show, but the reviews are good and I totally believe it was a good PPV. But AEW PPV match quality was always good, that's something they do well even if they can't structure a card as in it having an undercard, midcard, and a main event. Everything is a main event in AEW.
But how does this one good show change the following? AEW's struggling ratings, very struggling attendance, bloated roster, tons of built-up frustrations backstage from Tony Khan not taking care of business, inability to tell compelling stories, no structure and system to the company, no proper approach to merch at events, etc.
It's the same thing over and over again. It's great to be positive and believe and have faith in AEW, I like the vibes today, totally am on board with them and I hope more good is to come. But we've been here before with AEW, even in 2019, and actually the crowd today was noticeably more muted and less excited than in 2019-2022 PPVs, AEW has lost some connection with people over the last year and it is not far from what was going on in WCW in 1999. They filled up a big arena for the last match of one of the biggest stars ever, and I think it's clear the fans are burned out on a lot of things AEW and a lot of the talent that has been there since 2019 should just leave. Like why push Wardlow now? Will the push last? This guy could've been a main event guy after the MJF feud in 2022, what's going to be different now when they're clearly pushing Ospreay? I mean if they stay behind him and push Ospreay, and push Okada, and Mone, and Darby off of this huge retirement match with Sting and others, it could work, but we know that won't happen, because that would require Copeland, Danielson, Moxley, Jericho, Bucks and Omega to step back and accept they either put over the younger talent big or this isn't going to work. If they sacrifice and AEW manages to get Lesnar for a few matches too, it could still work. But I don't buy it one bit at this point. And then there's weekly ratings, TV deals and AEW needs the ex-WWE guys for that still, so they kinda hold the cards.
We've been here with AEW. Several times.
This show IMO echoes WCW's Spring Stampede 1999 or Slamboree 1999, two shows where WCW still looked like an A-league hot company and after that the problems started to noticeably catch up with them. I would hope for something better as a result, we all do as fans, but IDK at this point.
Its 5 years now so for most aew wrestlers we now know their limits and abilities so it's time to see which wrestlers can go further and elevate aew to a new high
Aew is full of young talent but does Tk has it to bring out the best out of them than indulge them in doing crazy spots
Oh no Lesnar he ain't needed what's needed is to grow more young talent into primetime stars
Well said! Tony Khan can paint AEW new all he wants but the Booking has to change, we need new fresh storylines that are build up every week
no its fine the way it is @@hopefulelectoftheng2819
Amazing send off. Best I’ve ever seen.
Samoa Joe is so good as champ though
I understand Eric's perspective of the distracted viewer , if you can't fully lock in you can't appreciate it.
I think the problem with aew and wwe is these events are way too long. Wwe not enough matches but still 3:30 hours and aew has too many matches and this was 4 hours. Agree with Eric about the Revolution matches being way too similar. People will probably get on me for saying this, but I feel like these long matches are made to get higher star ratings from Meltzer- AEW definitely does it and to some level WWE is doing it too with the long matches
I agree. It's like going to an all you can eat buffet every week. They lost the art of send them home happy, but leave them wanting more.
Every time Bischoff opens his mouth he loses that much more credibility. A 6 out of 10 for Revolution?!?! Way to stay objective Eric 😂 Oh yes, btw let’s make all matches short like Nash and Hogan’s “finger poke debacle”! Lastly, if you “don’t watch” the AEW product, then you should def reconsider passing any type of credible judgement on it.
I watched the Will Ospreay vs Takeshita match, high spots were good sure, but not selling was a major issue, position placement for the next spot several times was way off, over use of dangerous forearms to the face, it was sloppy!
I just finished by chance, watching some old school 2009 WWE Hell in a Cell, 3rd match on the card, John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler from 15 years ago! That match ran absolute rings around the Ospreay one by a country mile! Skill, style, execution, sell, story, you name it. Modern day wrasslin can learn a ton from these matches, I'm not impressed by the apparent 'standard' of today if that recent match is to be over the top celebrated. Just my opinion.
@83weeks #conradthompson #aew #ericbischoff
Hit the nail on the head. I am sick of the Kingston/Moxley style of throwing shitty punches and chops and the endless “okay I’m gonna let you hit me as hard as you can and then no sell it so you can hit me back” bullshit. It’s so fake and phony and neither of them look like a real tough guy, they look like a couple of drunk bums fighting outside the gas station over who gets the last cigarette
Yea man what a great ppv man hey man think that was the best ppv man like when the fuck did talking like tim dillon become cool man i hate this over exposed aew mark
After WCW Sting joined WWA from 01-03, spending a fair amount of time as the WWA World Champ. In 2003 the WWA World Title was merged with the NWA World Title when WWA ended - Jeff Jarrett defeated Sting to unify the two titles.
Was looking for this comment
My two biggest memories with Sting. The first memory was when first wrestled in the old WCW. My second memory of Sting, was when me and Sting took a physical picture together from a TNA show in Brooklyn. The picture occurred in 2012.I love you Sting. Good luck with retirement.
@Purist-dc4vk Also, who needs luck in retirement? When you're retired you don't do shit. That's the point.
I love erics take on anything. No matter if hes right or wrong , he believes every word hes saying. Love his passion
Triple h should have put sting over in wwe
Vince was pretty much in charge at that point.
I think Tony is smart to try n keep Sting around in some form or fashion in the back. Just his presence, input all around, i believe is a good investment.

Eddie shops were meant to look horrible. He was selling a busted arm and if your arm is busted then you can’t chop properly. He sold that arm right up until Brian raised it and he made Brian switch arms brilliant selling by Eddie and Beshoff complain the modern wrestlers don’t sell, make your mind up
If your idea is “I’m going to look horrible on purpose”, get a new idea
@@pearcemark2 the idea was to sell weak chops because he was injured, my mates and I got what he was doing and through it was brilliant. Like I say in the modern age most people would sell DB destroying the arm right up until they needed to chop back and then all of a sudden the arm is great. DB destroyed the arm to sell how dangerous Eddies chops and urangi where, Eddie then sold working broke the rest of the match. I think this will go down as a top ten match of the year by the end of the year, in all orgs not just AEW.
@@Ginric99 A top 10 match in the eyes of like 3000 dorks. Everyone else in the world will be saying “Daniel Bryan vs who? When did he come back to WWE??”, then they’ll never look further into it and will move on.
Can’t believe you guys are up still
27:34 Finally Big Head with good advice
Aew needs long term story telling. One and done matches get old
Eddie Kingston is hard to watch. I love his promos but his matches are slow and boring. And his chops with Excalibur calling them "machine gun chops" is sad and off-putting. Completely kills any excitement I have going. If maybe he can just focus on punching and strong moves instead of the Japanese style he loves but sadly can't emulate
*Scott Steiner Voice*
He’s fat!
Or, he could maybe hit the gym every once in a while. He could also maybe watch his diet a bit. If he’s not going to do either of those things, even though it’s an essential part of his chosen career, then maybe he could wear a t shirt instead of the spandex top that looks like it’s going to burst at the seams from holding in all of that jiggly, wiggly, abdominal meat.
Can’t take the dude seriously when 80% of the people I see just doing regular jobs or walking down the street, look like they’d kick his ass in any type of athletic contest.

When flair had his last match why did more superstarts come out to show respect as opposed to Stings. I feel like WWE probably told taker and other stars not to go.
Honestly I don't think anyone watched Flair's last match... and the people that did thought he was going to need to be taken out in ambulance. It was apparently the worse match of all time. I don't even remember what promotion it happened in now.
As for Flair's last WWE match, the people that showed up to that match were probably paid by WWE, or under a legends contract with WWE to show up. Everyone who came to watch Sting, did so because they wanted to be there and weren't getting paid. I'd imagine the guys working for WWE (which includes Taker I believe.) didn't feel like they could show up. IDK, how much Bailley and Sasha at the TNA show caused issues.
Why would undertaker be at stings last match?
Congratulations Sting 🦂
Hi guys.
AEW is bad in introducing new wrestlers. Not everybody sees NJPW or whatever, so you need some background to get engaged.
Also the number matches which doesnt really matter because there is almost no story.
AEW is too sloppy, so new viewers dont care and they just serve the hardcore fans. Its just 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 ratings with these talents...normally you need to get to 1.5, 1.8 with these class acts of wrestlers but no story, no introduction, too many matches with no stakes...its a shame. I used to love watching AEW but I totally lost interest.
Greetings from Bremen, Germany
Oh Conrad...
When sting turned anti hero i became an even bigger fan but I'll always hold his MEM gimmick like i hold undertaker ABA gimmick as my favorite
It was time to get the title off orange. It’s legitimized undisputed kingdom it’s all about the follow up then need the aew tag titles that can be a slow burn so after they get them it coincides with Adam Cole hopefully being able to wrestle and start making a push for the world title and the. Have mjf come back hopefully he makes factions the take the undisputed kingdom apart piece by piece
Before Ric Flair was n a wwe arena..not a cheap aew product....And 10 times better
Not to take anything away from Sting and how he wanted his final match should be I can't see him saying you know Darby it'll be great if you go off a 15ft ladder threw chairs and a sheet of glass. Darby has said he knows he won't last long doing the things he does. I happy that Sting was able to finish his career in good health not having any major injuries.
AEW don’t even hire real camera guys why u think their camera work sucks they just get independent wrestlers who are willing to work for free real talk.
The all star match was by the worst match of the night. Way too many shots of the wrestlers sitting ringside watching two guys in the ring and not attacking each other on the outside. Whoever was the agent for that match needs to be fired immediately.
with all that swearing that Conrad does about eating factor meals I wonder why he's still huge
I love Sting, so thankful to have watched him since a kid until now!! That Darby spot just for the sake of being a spot was such a poor decision. Thankfully that kid isn't dead after that one or had broken legs or even bled out but jesus christ that was painful to watch. Despite that Sting put on a great final match and it was a tear jerker with his kids being in the ring as different eras of Sting.
As soon as eric, shit all over the daniel bryant match, conrad starts loosing his sense of humour 😂😂😂,
Did Bryan win?
I agree Eddie Kingston is a talent…. On the mic. The money in him is the chase as champion I can’t see anybody clamoring for him to retain. The tournament was used to get him over and it’s the first time since then he’s been seen. Eddie needs to be a manager in ring he’s the drizzling shits.
Does Connie ever say anything about AEW isn’t Great? 🛎️
Awesome stuff Eric
Pretty much agree with every word Eric spoke here 👏🏻 Show was OK before Ospreay did his thing and showed everyone why he's the future of the company. Although I didn't mind the Scramble match as much as everyone else seems to 🤔 Loved the Darby spot, but absolutely understand the concerns over that stuff, and do agree with them to a point. Darby doesn't scare me, Sammy Guevera however... That dudes gonna hurt himself, or someone else..
Conrad, you forgot to mention Lex Lugar who also made it to the match!
Darby can do those spots all day long, I bet he breaks his neck on a snapmare.
The rock not showing up was prob the worst part. I agree
Wesley nd his dad haven't left happy 😂😂😂
17:54 Conrad that has nothing to do with the match. 🤣🤣
Darby won't be talking about this next year if he keeps this stupid shit up.
I don't think he is surviving Everest to be honest. Everything I know about Darby, and everything I know about people who have climbed Everest, Darby ain't making it back. Like, apparently he doesn't have climbing experience, and he is way too thrill seeking and stubborn to turn around and come back down if it gets too dangerous. Apparently it is common for people to almost make it to the top and try to press on, only to not survive the climb back down.
Gotta be honest, this wasn't a great send off, and Conrad & Eric framing it in such a way is maximum cope. I think Eric is probably just trying to be complementary and nice to his friend, but still...I can't even call it a letdown bc, let's be real, none of us sane ppl actually expect Tony to book anything decent on a wrestling show. Entrance was cool, but expected. Production was nice. Match sucked, "story" sucked...this left a lot to be desired.

These AEW fans have smart marked themselves to the point where they’re just dead. It sounded like TNAs empty arena match half the night. Just loud mat noises. How could you not cheer during that toni storm match??
You're insane. I was there live. The crowd was hot all night long. There will obviously be times during a 5 hour show where the fans recoup. Women's matches can't compare to the men's. That's why those matches r quiet.
What’s the point of high spots if they do it all the time? And explain to me how after going through glass, these guys are able to get up? It’s like they do a no-sell. Putting Darby Allin through glass should have been done in an angle instead of just the middle of a match that was supposed to be about Sting.
Darby went through the glass and was laid out for close to 10 minutes. Sting went through the Table on the stage and didn't come back for the same period....🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
Why is a pane of glass there in the first place 😂 it’s just stupid nonsense

Being there the MOST people got up to leave during the orange Cassidy match 😂 all sides of the arena had ppl flooding the stairs to concessions. Literally our entire row except 2 ppl left. leaving was my original plan too, but I stopped when I saw everyone had the same thought. I was just gonna sit through it but Literally the entire row got up so i went ahead and left with them like i wanted since I had to stans up anyway 😂
Most people? Come on dude. I was there and the people were into that match like all the others. There's 16k in the building. People are always moving around. Plus I'm sure this show had more casual fans who may not be familiar with everything aew does. This show was unbelievable
@ToddFrizzell-zi5nj Every stairway had people on as soon as the entrances started. It was the biggest exodus of the night. It had the Most People get up to leave out of all the matches! And if you were there too you know that's the truth. The show was pretty brutal honestly. I enjoyed seeing the women. Glad I was there to see Sting even though his match wasn't the best. I was having a good time until Moxley no sold a powerbomb, a piledriver, and a tag finisher. I tried to let go of the multiman joke live seeing Jericho and the others just kneel at a corner of a ring and watch the match waiting for their cue. But moxley no selling just pissed me off. Couldn't enjoy anything else. The crowd for Osprey was a spectacle but I could care less. Tony Khan and aew are not for me. If it wasn't Stings last match in Greensboro less than an hour from where I live I would not have been there.

Lol, no, at Eric's age, he wants a nice cosy life. Spending time with family. He's content where he is in life. Your bias is clouding your judgement. If you paid any attention or actually listened to his pod casts, not just out of context clips to push, the Bichoff hates aew narrative. You'd know Eric wants aew to succeed, but he's made mistakes and to his credit owns everyone. So his integrity is pretty rock solid. So when he sees them happening again, he's best suited to make critical statements, but Tony is oblivious to the problems because people like you kiss his ass. But the evidence is right there poor attendance and ratings. You can't just cater to did hard Internet message board fans and expect a boom in business.
