      Playing their songs would lead a good number of Americans buying african music, and you know that isn't a scenario the powers that be will find funny at all.

    So.... NDOMBOLO is a Congolese dance sang in Lingala (a bantu language of the Mungala people of the Congo). To hear the chant (or "cri" as one would say in French), I would refer you to the song LOI BY KOFFI OLOMIDE. Interestingly enough, KOFFI was born to a west African mother and Congolese father. We are all one.

      +nayenaye1992 - Im mad. Im after the haters. Can they pl stop calling African Dances, 'TWERKING'. Always Africans did either vigorours shaking or vigorours jumping. Dances have evolved. Naked breast, child breasting in public, shaking is never big taboo in Africa. This has nothing to do with S. They should stop mixing or confusing two cultures. Double standardizing. Can they pl live us alone, dont watch or comment. We enjoy it.

      I checked for this blasted ndombolo so tay and i couldnt find it. Congo people should leave us to enjoy this Naija song in peace, how could it be a copy ? Olomide doesnt even sing in pidgin english or in Igbo language.
      Its like Cameroonians claiming Michael Jackson's song "wanna be starting something" as theirs just because a few bars of the song featured the line "mama se mama se makossa" by Manu Dibango.

    • @Mukendi26
      @Mukendi26 10 років тому +7

      Jombolo got inspired by Ndombolo ya solo, tell me what does jombolo mean??? He should of just kept it ndombolo no biggie, don't claim something ain't yours.

      Mati Koo shush abeg. african always use catchy phrases that have no meaning in their songs. too bad this one sounds like ndombolo. tell me whats the meaning of skelewu? or kedike, or jankolikoko or limpopo or dorobucci? thats right no meaning cos its just a catchphrase

    I think people who grew up in Africa and born between 1950-1990 will understand the word "Ndombolo", whether you call it jombolo or dombolo, the original word will always remain as "Ndombolo".
    It originated from pure African traditional music called "Soukous music" or you can call it "soukous style". Iyanya himself is old enough to know it and he probably got inspired by its dance moves and the lyrics too. If you listen carefully to it's lyrics he did mentioned the word "Soukous" which says, "babe dance to ma soukous".
    So for those who are young please do a research about soukous music and try to understand its meaning and where it comes from and even the word "Ndombolo" or the new twisted one jombolo whatever or however you twist it, the original meaning will always remain thesame.
    Therefore to conclude; The word Soukous and Ndombolo originates from Congo. Congolese are the founder of pure African soukous music and if you interview Iyanya about these facts i bet you 1000000000 times he will agree with me.
    Yes Nigerians got their own traditional music but its the Congolesse traditional music that brought the Ndombolo word. So Nigerians added their twist to eat and also western feel to it. It doesnt matter whether its sang in English, it's always from congo. These two artists are inspired by Soukous music eg their dance style, but the congolese people does the dance better.

      There's nothing wrong with that mate, we are all blacks. I just like history to be told the right way.
      Don't be like the white people who claim they invented everything.
      Fela was inspired by Congolese music.
      Congo music started way back in 1930s and it has it's own genre, which made African music unique.
      Whether you are from Tanzania or Nigeria, you should thank the Congolese. I'm not from Congo myself but a neighbour.
