Happy to see someone from Pakistan is producing such high quality content, I am installing 10KW Hybird system and every solar company has difference of opnion some tells you to get cheap hybird inverters because good brands inverters are not available and you have to pay a lot extra on regular price.
Net Metering process is also again changed now you need to again convert to 3 phase before applying for net metering.
For 10kw hybird system my cost is arround 2.6 Million+ with 2 Nitrox 6KW Hybird Inverter, 19 Canadian Solar 545 Watt Panels and 4 Tublar Batteries , 120K is being charged for net metring and 45k extra to change it to 3 phase.
I have one confusion the solar company told me only one inverter can do net metering, altough both inverter has dual output but they said smart load doesn't work if we use batteries parallel so they are recommedning to have 3kw solar panels on one 6kw inverter and it will provide smart backup but it will not do net metering and instal 7kw solar panels one one 6kw inverter that one will do net metring. both inverter will charge and discharge batteries but only one can do net metering, its very confusing and I am still figuring it out.

That’s not true. I have two hybrid inverters installed in parallel and they both do net-metering together with smart load. Ask them to connect both inverters in parallel (if they know how to do it)
@@syedowaisali if they don't know how to do it in parallel, avoid that company. They are only there to sell, that company will not have expertise and knowledge most likely.
Well-done for showing your attendance at public nepra hearing in behind the scenes, I have also shifted to 6kw netmetering system. Govt should facilitate solar distributed generators to minimize their bills to zero but it seems govt wants to punish solar distributed generators for thinking to minimize their bills to zero

thank you for explaining this complex system in a simple way. So basically you are absolutely right, there is no consistency in the planning. On one way we are already buying expensive electricity being generated by fuel which results in more pressure on our import bill, so if anyone is investing his or her hard earned money to generate electricity by solar and exporting it to the disco's so it makes no sense to decrease the base price because it will no longer make sense to invest on it.

This a great video and informative. Already worked on net metering bill calculations by each factor and future bill calculation on the basis of past trends. So, the current buying rate is still 19.319. I have installed 7.5 KV solar system in jun.22 and already saved around 115,000 Rs up to dec.22 bills (as per my calculation and comparison with bills without solar system). I hope they should motivate the user to adopt solar energy rather than disappointing with such pathetic solutions. They have already done unbearable loss after agreeing terms with IPPs.

You’re right. It makes sense that it will now and more so in the future become more feasible to store excess units rather than export them. Just wanted to add that the government doesn’t exactly have very supportive policies on imported batteries such as lithium ion or lifepo. So those batteries become almost twice as expensive when imported. However, if someone can outlay that cash, they will still benefit in the long-run.

Thank you for explaining everything in a simple way. This is very important for people to know who either have solar installed or are preparing to install it. I'm against the amendment. If anything, we should be making it easier for people to get a return on investment in order to encourage private investment into solar. It is too early to decrease incentives, much less take them away.
Really enjoyed the discussion, you always come up with real issues and their solution. Really appreciate that.
I am not sure if we can still trade the OFF PEAK units (Giving the units to Grid in shiny day and taking back those unit from grid on cloudy day without price involvement. If this is the case , NET METERING is still a better choice then system with out NET METERING, Because solar production varies a lot specially due to weather, and you can not always keep an eye on the production and load ( FOR the systems with out NET METERING.
May be in the future NEPRA will say. we will take all the units from the solar at RS 9, and we will sell at RS 30 or any current tariff rate. That will be big concern. In that case if we still want to save on power cost, then Hyundai tubular batteries give about RS 16/unit cost for back up. Lithium Ion Battery RS 25/unit. Normal Lead Acid Battery > RS 55/ Unit.

Good job. I think the energy prices should be variable according to the energy production cost. Also I support the amendment, because it’ll encourage usage of battery for peak shaving, and reduce grid load and dependence of fossil fuel generated energy.
Thanks for clarification on this issue. So in short what you suggest go for Total Net Meter OR Hybrid Solar setup and how to reduce battery cost in hybrid setup??

Owais bhai if you r reading this comment please make a video on your electricity bill reduction which you stated would be out within 6 months of your domestic solar plant going online and how will this amendment affect your bill.
Great video. Exporting to Neighbors should be legalized. A point that you missed all along is the climate effect. Even if you don't get a negative bill, you are helping the climate by producing clean energy and it should be incentivized. Perhaps people with solar power system should get subsidy or priority handling on some government services. Basically there should be an ESG compliant environment which supports all climate friendly initiatives.

Brother Syed Owais Ali thank you for sharing important information with us. I think that since we are not only consumers of WAPDA but also law-abiding citizens. We should not be involved in activities prompting us to pay illegal gratification to WAPDA for getting a net metering system. Installing a solar-based generation of electricity three & a half times more than WAPDA is not feasible & out of question. Your suggestion is feasible extra electricity stored in our batteries must be gifted to our neighbours. Following the dos & don'ts, we will behave better as law-abiding citizens.
