Their music can be very heavy with amazing guitar riffs but at the same time they have such beautiful ballads.
I never thought about your interpretation until I heard you say it! I like your points, very very good reasoning. To me, I think this song is a loved one discovering someone that they love either trying to commit suicide, or has committed suicide, or is just dying in anyway really. This this song seems to me to be a call and response between the person saying “I see the light.“ And the person saying “stay with me. “ at the end, you can hear the pain in the singer‘s voice as he starts screaming stay with me, which to me says that the person is either unwilling to fight for life, or is slipping further away.
I think this song is the other side of "I am above", in the same album =[...] don't need your tears, I don't need your love. Don't need your sympathy, I am above [...]
I see it as he sees death upon them and is asking this person to stay with him. I’ve seen this band a few times. Love them! 🤘🏼
In Flames we Trust
You def need to check out more of their stuff. I've been a fan of these guys since the 90s. Most of their music is melodic metal and much heavier than this, but they have a few ballads that you REALLY need to check out such as, Come Clarity, Evil in a Closet, The chosen pessimist, With Eyes Wide open , and there are a few other noteworthy options. These are just the ballads, there are too many other good songs done in their usual play style to list haha

Oh fuck me sideways yes. In Flames has A LOT of great songs! And I mean A LOT. A FUCKTON. Highly recommend jumping into their discography. Songs like "Only For The Weak", "I, The Mask", "The Quiet Place", "Deliver Us", "Sounds of a Playground Fading" and so many more are always in my rotation, no matter playlist. Great reaction! :)

I feel his desperate pain at the end fighting for his loved one to STAY. Not knowing if he experienced a tragic loss prior and is heart crying with passion out of love & desperation.
Remind yourself it's a metall core band. This was like a one of. It's amazing!
