You def need to check out more of their stuff. I've been a fan of these guys since the 90s. Most of their music is melodic metal and much heavier than this, but they have a few ballads that you REALLY need to check out such as, Come Clarity, Evil in a Closet, The chosen pessimist, With Eyes Wide open , and there are a few other noteworthy options. These are just the ballads, there are too many other good songs done in their usual play style to list haha

To me, I think this song is a loved one discovering someone that they love either trying to commit suicide, or has committed suicide, or is just dying in anyway really. This this song seems to me to be a call and response between the person saying “I see the light.“ And the person saying “stay with me. “ at the end, you can hear the pain in the singer‘s voice as he starts screaming stay with me, which to me says that the person is either unwilling to fight for life, or is slipping further away.
