Well done! On the topic of the Allarus a small feedback, about how hard they are hitting: Played 1k shield host (with 1 Allarus Capt. With axe + 3 allarus - 1 Axe and 2 spears) vs. 1k necron hypercrypt with a nightbringer. Second turn, nightbringer teleported behind my lines and wracked havoc with a lucky assault onto my guards, with Kyria (lost 2 guards, dealt 1 damage to nightbringer). But I rapid ingressed the Allarus close there as well. My second turn, guards falling back. Allarus shooting adding all over 2 more damage to the nightbringer. My guards had to fokus down a transcendant Ctan before the wardens would charge it. The allarus then smacked into the ctan with lethals... And dealt (after halving and thanks to slayer of tyrants) 24 damage onto the nightbringer... He was able to save one less than he needed and died, wounding one allarus upon death. Meanwhile wardens and Blade-Champ had 2 rounds of fun with a lightly wounded transcendent ctan. Allarus are really hard hitting especially on those big guys!
FINALLY!!!! Someone else using the shield captain with a unit of Pyrithite spears!!!! Lol. I love the unit, probably not the best, and over costed, but I used them even at 300pts for the squad lol.
Great stuff. Like the shield capt suggestion, now wondering if there is a points drop if capt with sag might be a potnetial alt to draxis (she is very good with guard) if the agent slot was 'needed' for something else.
Great vid. Very good point about using the "bad units" to practice. I have been using 2 x vertus prators in casual 1000 pt games. They throw people off because they are unused to fighting Custodes who are so fast. Yes, we know they are not great - but usually the enemy player does NOT know that, and they get very scared of them, allowing our other good units a lot more space.
as a person who is literal make a custody army right now thank you also jokes on you i was already planing on using gladius dreadnought also bird people are better then i thought
Just got 6th out of 34 at an RTT this weekend! Last game was very hard fought in an uphill battle admech and terraform and he got first which meant free primary capping as he move blocked me still 88-85 game Shield host Warlord Solo Trajann Blade champ with panoptispex Draxus Callidus assassin 1x4 guard with draxus 1 spear 2 Shields 1 vexilla 1x5 Melta spear guard 1x5 wardens with blade champ 2x4 wardens 2x3 venatari 2x4 witchseekers 1x4 prosecutors
I'm just starting Custodes and I wanted to ask if solo Trajann is a common thing? I see the other wardens squad without the character and how that faired in your games. Thank you!
@@endosym1158 i like solo trajann starting off the board since he can come in and delete key targets, or do secondaries/hold a point while you move off of it. I just find him very flexible for the points. As for the wardens I had been toying with cutting unnecessary characters to fit in extra units, you don't take the wardens for the -1 to wound while being lead you take them for the 4+ feel no pain The wardens usually end up hunkering down on points while everything else pushes past so they can't get shot off when they have the feel no pain. Solo Trajann is not the most common but I've come to love him as a part of my playstyle similar to the melta spears, the list leans hard into the go turn with the expectation to kill 4 units between the venatari and the melta spears double killing all off rapid ingress! Usually start venatari, 1x4 wardens, melta spears and trajann off the board. its ok if the blade champ dies so long as he creates space for everything else to land! Sorry for not being able to word it concisely and I hope that helps :)
@@Kaldoran54 No apologies needed, thank you so much for the insight. Once I get more comfortable with Custodes I'll have to try out some of these options.
Oh Wise One, What do you think is the best target for Talon's Interlocked strategem for Custodes? Is it a brick of allarus for the 6d6+blast str 5 Ap-2 plus str 5 Ap-2 spears? Or Draxus and Guards for a nasty double shooting on objective? Or something else I'm not seeing?
I would put it on the Allarus even more so of they are targeting a Character Infantry unit. The str. and AP boost does not help Draxus shooting that much. It's those Anti Infantry Devastating wounds that do the damage. Getting all those Allarus shots up to str. 5 now we wound Space Marine profiles on 3s instead of 4s. If it's a character unit for those reroll wounds. Will be nothing left but a smoking crater
Custodes vs. Necrons will be one of the first few factions I do. For now, I'm not going to lie it's tough. We either use a 5-man Allarus with Axes to try and smash them out since our damage only drop to 2. Caladius Grav-tanks can kill them. Or charge them with 2 Spear welding units, but doing that starts to limit where our board control
I just had a nightbringer c'tan one shot a 11w calladius with its gaze attack then 10" charge a 4 man guard unit with draxus and wipe them all in a single turn.
@HubtownHammer last night I had my achillus save against void dragon, he didn't get his charge. Got a couple of wound off with my flamer, the las spear finally wounded, only 1 wound with fnp, and then tank shock took him down to 8, another 2 with mortals on charge and then rolled hot, turned 5 attacks into 9, wounded and over killed. Galatus dread did 6 damage to nightbringer and my allarus captain finished him...I got very lucky.
If you have a Bladechampion you can re-roll it for free. Or even CP reroll it if the Fights First unit is a threat and or you have a really good chance to pick it up if we get a few Custodes models into them.
Well done. thank you.
Fight first trick is amazing! Thank you very much
You're welcome!
Tip number 11 wait for the balance data slate and pray…every time lol 😊
