This song is one of the most powerful ones I’ve heard… Noel often says that his lyrics don’t really mean anything, but my god the words here, directly alluding to suicidal thoughts and how to pull yourself out of it. Just. So. Incredible.

I agree. While I applaud Noel for experimenting with different sounds on his most recent album, it's a fact that "Dead in the Water" is the best song on it. The rest of the album is good, but it lacks the easy listening of the previous two.
Reilly Walker The good think about oasis is that he wrote fucking huge song and not pretending to introduce new intruments or strange sounds. They were so fucking well written, and i think noel is missing that extraordinary ability in his albums with HFB. And liam voice aswell whem em that rock style.
