All my baby cousin watches is this bull crap. He’s three and he can’t talk… also anytime the phone gets taken away, He throws a complete fit and even if he’s not even paying attention to the TV at all and his full focus is on the phone he throws an absolute fit when the TV gets turned off at night when he is supposed to be going to sleep.
It's scary shit. There's no data on what happens when someone has a smartphone in their hand as soon as they're able to operate it. There are going to be legions of these people reaching adulthood in the coming decades. It's going to be "interesting" to see how they function when they're out on their own (if they don't become permanent shut-ins)

I didn't even get a tablet until I was in maybe 5th or 6th grade, and I didn't get a smartphone until high-school. I can't imagine giving one to a literal toddler.
My son is 2 i am never going to allow him any device unsupervised until he is at least 11. When i put anything on for him the screen is locked so he watches that and only that, nothing else.

Gen-Z “brain-rot” was made by young adults or even older teens also in Gen-Z for fun and because they thought it was hilarious for no reason. There’s just something dopamine-releasing about Smoke Weed Every Day or Illuminati Triangle that is simple to understand, but is just randomly funny.
Gen-A brainrot is made by entire teams and make it because they figure it could get them money from viewing revenue because arguably, the viewers of Gen-Z “brain-rot” had a decently developed brain and would realize when they were trying to be marketed to, Gen-Z “brain-rot” didn’t do this. Gen-A brainrot posts on UA-cam Shorts and other children’s platforms to reach an even younger audience that can understand what they’re watching is a cash grab and is relatively normal. Gen-Z “brain-rot” made and established it’s own memes, so everything at their disposal was original, Gen-A brainrot steals memes and other popular online children’s media such as Amazing Digital Circus and Skibidi Toilet. Skibidi Toilet especially, that was made by a guy who made random G-Mod animations that could be seen as Gen-Z humor, Skibidi Toilet was another one of these stupid animations but was picked-up by money-hungry teams (presumably from Overseas, relative to North America) and brainrot content based on it was pumped out in mass.
I would like to take the time to mention Elsagate, which is arguably the predecessor to modern brainrot. Elsagate targeted a slightly older audience of around 4-7 and used concepts used in popular media like superheroes (particularly Spiderman) and princesses, then placing them in questionable situations. These were made by domestic also with money in mind, but at least targeted an audience that had a bit of brain development. Gen-A brainrot starts as soon as the child gets an iPad with UA-cam Shorts on it. And from what I see, Elsagate doesn't really affect childhood development.
There were also these videos the basic concept of cops and robbers acted fully by children, but this took time and effort to make content that parents (who ran these kids channels that I might only remember. Gabe and Garrett Channel if it rings a bell to anyone) would be okay with children seeing. This doesn't harm childhood development either, maybe even give children valuable content made (acted) by kids for kids with things like morals and themes.
Gen-A brainrot children have almost no brain development prior and this is what they're being raised on, not even wholesome content from Disney, Pixar or even Nickelodeon, but instead cash grabs. I get it, corporations don’t fully care, but at least they put credible effort into media, while these teams that make brain rot just pump out a few mindless animations that not even they understand and call it a day.

The other day some lady came over to my house and she had a kid, I was drawing on my digital tablet and the kid asked me what I was doing and I obviously responded "drawing", he asked me how, and I told him I make a sketch and then make it digital. It seemed like the word "digital" triggered something on this child's brain and he went "you said digital? My sister and her family went down to Mexico not long ago and they told me that they made friends with what was probably the only other family on the resort that wasn’t sticking iPads in front of their kids faces. This stuff should really get banned. Brainrot content farms should not stay. Kids will start accepting this as the norm rather than classic Looney Tunes and Disney as high quality. Not even Christian but I've realized over the years that there's tremendous value in families going to church - they're probably not the families whose kids are spending every waking second on a smartphone/tablet. If church participation is declining (as the statistics seem to show) then parents need to work really hard at providing structure, moral guidance, and personal development for their kids, because technology isn't doing it.

I really miss the old internet days. When I was a kid, I used to watch Sonic animation videos that actually serves an appropriate place in our hearts to look back and feel the good nostalgia from it.
And now, 2/3rds of the internet are deranged to this *brainrot* content to the point where newer kids gets too hooked into garbage and they’ll have influence that are the complete opposite of what we used to have.
These videos are not entertaining, it’s boring, and for me personally, nothing from this will be worth watching.
Parents seriously needs to be more strict and monitor what their kids are watching so that they can grow up in a healthy influence.

You don't want to know how many times, a day, I see parents buying their toddler a new tablet because they broke the one they had(all while complaining to me about always having to replace the tablet because it keeps getting broken)
Solution: Don't buy a tablet for a toddler! Actually do your damn job as a parent and parent them(there's also way too many parents who ignore when their crotch gremlins run around the store getting in the way of other shoppers and almost getting hurt).

I work in an elementary school as a paraprofessional, meaning I just help students and teachers. I’m mainly with the 5th graders and my god I hear and see this shit all the time. I’ll be asking a student how he got a math answer and he answers “skibidi.” I know we can’t hurt children but I almost lunged at him. I don’t think there’s much hope for new generations

The worst thing for me is the fact that some aspects of this type of content actually require compitent animation skills to create. Someone who is actually half-decent in animation made this. And the fact that this is like one of the rly rare consistant ways to make a living as an animator is rly sad

I think the more reasonable solution would be to instead just take away the tablet and headphones and either sign him up for something to hang out with others or teach him a skill to entertain himself instead of just watching UA-cam or playing games

If I wanted to watch something, I just pop a tape into the VHS player or go into the living room to watch some cable television (I don't think DirectTV existed back then, so we had something I sadly can't remember the name of).
I still remember the advertisements for movies like Jaws being brought to Blu-ray as well, loved that movie as a kid and I continue to watch it now at 24. That and a lot of old cartoons
