Minor correction: KCON wasn't Jessica's last performance with SNSD. Her last performance with them was actually SMTOWN
the way jessica was treated even after her removal was outright cruel. it was like she never even existed, and even with the blacklist and the rumor mongering too like wtf? props to jessica for staying as strong as she did.
She is a fighter tbh cause after what her own members and then her company of 14 years did to her, basically destroyer her career, i would've off myself. Her hard work for 14 years wasted

That really shows what happened. horrible human beings.
If she did the same thing like Hyuna (when she was still in cube) the deserved to be kicked out but noooo.... SHE'S not like her. Welp I forgot the whole thing back then but I believe she didn't do anything worst to be kicked out from snsd and smentertainment
They could never make me hate Jessica
True, but I wound up hating the other 8 members & SM Entertainment for the way Sica was ostracized & treated after this whole episode.
Speaks volumes as to their character, or lack of it.
@@JT-ov2yr they knew her for so long and backstabbed her in the worst way possible.
Which leads me to believe, they are taking care of only themselves which is fine, they know if the truth comes out or if they open that door, they were the bad guys.
I'd like to think they have grown a little bit, some members at least, i know at least 1 member that would never acknowledged SNSD was 9, in fact i remember her saying something like "The 8 of us worked so hard to debut" during the pandemic and i was like wow, you're a grown ass woman acting like that. Could've easily said "every member worked hard"
And it was never a SM problem cause till this day and back then, Super Junior always acknowledged Suju was 13 members and mentioned them by their name.

But the members' parents were also heavily involved in the removal of Jessica from the group
@@WWEWomen-g2d according to fans, hours or a day before the news broke, the fans from the fanmeet knew that somehow Jessica was left out, it isn't far fetched to think a staff snitched and told the fanbase about it, the staff snitch all the time on idols sadly.
According to them (which i say they may not be that reliable but they knew it before the world knew so its a weird situation) they said taeyeon, sooyoung, and yuri had a problem and then they voted, i think only Yoona and Seohyun were against it or they compromised with some others (sunny and hyoyeon probably compromised too). When you watch the fanmeet on that day, Taeyeon is literally smirking and grinning when Jessica's parts come which is weird to me.
The fact that Jessica, after being forced out of SNSD, was able to release songs, star in her own UA-cam channel, promote in China, and participate in a reality show, proves the argument that her business interfered with SNSD group activities is a lie.
I agree, something deeper happened.
@@tomasleon3148 Follow the money. My theory is, even though she sought and received permission from SME's C-suite to proceed, the individual managements (usually family) of the other members sensed an opportunity and demanded to be made silent partners of B&E, even though the members would be contributing nothing (all designs and ideas were Jessica's and Jessica's alone), under the cynical theory "nobody cares about your designs, they're just going to buy because of the association with SNSD, therefore you need to pay SNSD (the members, but mostly us, the managers)" for using the name. In my opinion, the "lack of devotion" to the group she was accused of was entirely financial in nature, because she told them "I'm not mentioning SNSD at all, I made all the agreements I needed to with Lee Soo Man, go pound sand, you effing parasites!"
SME did BOTH Jung sisters dirty. While it's almost expected that SM's current gg always gets neglected when the next gg is debuted (RV vs. aespa, f(x) vs. RV)) unless it's a boy band or SNSD (which are always supported), f(x) was neglected by management for its entire existence. FOUR YEARS AFTER DEBUT to get a lightstick design and a fandom name! What other SM gg EVER had to self-produce their own MV's (witness "All Mine"!) just to have ANY comeback at all? What the fsck has SM been doing with all the money they rake in?! (aside from paying executive salaries, that is!)
@@ronc9413 UA-cam is an American company, her releasing music with his boyfriend's agency support (and resources) and the promotions in China has nothing to do with Korea or SM. SM has power in the Korean entreteinmemt industry, not in America, not in USA nor in China. SM can not dictate how people spend their money. Actually in the reality she was there to represent Playback and Coridel, as a "mentor" and a "successful" artist her participation was to support Playback in Mixnine, not exactly promote herself.
The fact she was not allowed in music programs, her music was taken down and not entreteinment media outlet promoted her are the signs SM blocked her in its area of influence.
@@belaytriks Jessica did release two albums (solo), wrote two books, competed in “Sister Who Makes Waves” (debuted in 2nd place). Whether her music was released in Korea (or not) is irrelevant to the fact that she continues to work in the entertainment industry (outside of Korea) while also working as CEO of her clothing brand.
I find it weird how she was blacklisted for the smallest thing ever but there’s way horrible people in sk who aren’t even black listed

Korea is a small country so the industries are all very tight nit. Easy to blacklist. Combine that with the fact most SNSD parents have businesses, especially Sooyoung, they have leverage behind the scenes along with being in the biggest Kpop label
Misogyny unfortunately 😢
Jessicas vocal color is so unique. She was SNSD's sound when they were at their peak.
This is so true. No hate to the other members, but no one can replace her voice. During their Paparazzi performance, I didn't like it when Tifanny sang the "ooh lala" parts....
@@yeahyeahyeah3724Agreed. Her voice is effortlessly sweet yet seductive.
Lmao. Taeyeon was and is always the sound of SNSD. None of SNSD songs will even exist without Taeyeon.
@AoDk673 your hate boner for jessica is wild. Its especially giving jobless behavior as youre ACTIVELY dogging on anyone who praised her existence and part in snsd. Also, meat riding taeyeon as if she'd let you hit 😭 go touch grass dude
@@AoDk673 partially true. If you listen closely, Jessica takes the lead background vocals just as much as Taeyeon most of the time. Especially in the earlier eras of the group. You can really hear it in their Japanese songs & many B tracks (non title & non-MV songs) KOR & JPN. Taeyeon no doubt has the strongest vocals & bridges though
Whats crazy to me is that Jessica wasn’t allowed to focus on her brand, yet now many SM artists have their own side/solo activities/businesses. SM just didn’t want Jessica to succeed to the extent that she did because her brand became very successful.
Actually SM supported Jessica’s brand. Blanc & Eclare was featured on SMs website and they had models wearing the brand. There was also an SM series that featured her brand too. The issues had to be an internal issue within the group
@@saranguyen2788 No. SM promoted her brand after she was ousted. I saw that happening realtime.
@@matjb Yes. You should watch “debunking lies about former girls' generation member jessica jung” there’s several parts to it. It’s confirmed Jessica was given permission to launch her brand when she was supposed to, twice. SM also released a statement prior saying the girls would focus on solo projects around the same time. Also note, Jessica was still signed to SM even after she was kicked from the group. Jessica was the one who decided to leave SM. SM still had plans to manage some of her solo appearances. The video series I listed above goes into depth
@@saranguyen2788The last rumor was that it was the parents who protested against Jessica. Also, Jessica changed the terms that she doesnt want SM to share in the profits.
Lastly, how can members ban her from appearing from music shows. Only SM can do that.
@@dennisvillaflor3359 Yeah it was rumored for years the other parents usually rally behind Sooyoungs parents when confronting SM with decisions and negotiations. Sooyoung comes from a rich family. Except Tiffany, her family lives in the US so she usually represents herself since the early days.
It was rumored Jessica changed the terms, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true. She was kicked from the group even though she got clearance for her business. Originally got permission from the other members to start her brand. Then SM still wanted to make profits from her brand and still have her signed to the label after the other girls voted her out the group. Without a doubt it probably rubbed her the wrong way.
True. SM has her restricted. However, there are rumors floating around saying that because some members parents are also business owners/stake owners in various things, they also have put pressure on certain areas of entertainment. Combine that with Korea being a small country. Its industry is very very small. But the members/parents putting pressure on outside sources is a rumor
Imagine being so talented and business savvy that even if you get blakcklisted you can just go to another country and still be successful. That is jessica Jung. She had the other girls pressed.
She spent more than 7 years learning how to become a professional idol. The key is that the company did not value her abilities, suppressed her, and wasted her talents. She went to a place where she could develop but was forced to grow.
@@Kevin-cg4gj stop putting the blame on SM, we all know the girls were the ones who had a problem with Jessica, she said it several times
@@spheksophobiaurinal I don't just blame SM. They are also evil. These girls are really fake and good at pretending to be victims.
She's not successful her store closing down each one
Jessica kinda gave the "color" to the SNSD songs, and that's a part of a reason that SNSD songs especially choruses were so recognizable. She usually isn't the 1st or 2nd in line distribution for foreground vocals. But the degree of Jessica's involvement in background vocals of SNSD songs are INSANE. She's almost always in the "main singers" for group choruses and her harmonies and dubbings are everywhere to the point where she literally sings the whole song in background in some of the songs like Mr.Mr.
Jessica is a queen. The way she carried herself after all of that mistreatment. How she stood back up and how she's still thriving. She was the unique vocal tone anyone would hear in their songs. They lost that touch in their songs when they removed Jessica
I think it's funny when SONEs try to say that Jessica is flopped because, besides Taeyeon, none of the members of SNSD are really successful musicians in the general Korean public. Most of the members moved into acting because it is an easy transition area for idols, you call tell by the number of idols without any prior knowledge who debut as an actor/actress just because.
By the way, "With Love, J" Jessica's debut album outsold Tiffany's, Yoona's, Seohyun's and Yuri's debut albums. Not even being under a Big 3 helped in a business dispute with a woman boycotted in the industry. 👩💻
I lived these comebacks years one by one and she did outsell most of her former members. Especially where her and Tiffany were debuting the exact same time solo. Jessica had zero music shows appearances, Tiffany had many!
Yeah by like a marginal difference lol.
Like what you said, all of SNSD’s solos failed, with the exception of Taeyeon, because all of them debuted way past their prime.
Even if Jessica stayed in SNSD, had she made the same Disney ass music, she still would’ve flopped ‘cause she never had the musical reputation, legacy, and general public relevance of Taeyeon.
Taeyeon is an anomaly ‘cause of her slew of OST hits, most of which are more popular than even the drama themselves. Jessica only had one hit to her name, and it’s a collab with Park Myungsoo for Infinity Challenge, a collaboration that spawned instant hits over the years with IU, G-dragon, and Park Bom.
Side note: the same goes for all of SNSD’s actresses, with the exception of Yoona. In fact, Yoona is one of very few successful idol-turned-actors, and is one who was able to transcend Hallyu by having box office films to her name.
@@czed6937 Taeyeon has always been the member whose solo career has been pushed the most, so what you are citing about Taeyeon's solo career, which is very successful, are consequences of an absurd investment on SM's part, then this is expected. I also agree with what you said about Yoona, but what's the point in suggesting that Jessica would have flopped? 'Beep Beep', her latest release, sold 50,000 physical sales on Hanteo Chart. We are talking about a soloist from a small company who spent several years without releasing music and that has not appeared in the Korean media directly for a decade. SM always pushed Jessica as the group's second center and visual, and she has always had a strong Chinese fan base that still follows her to this day. It sounds a bit delusional to not acknowledge that she would have been a huge soloist even with her 'Disney music'.
Well - the biggest problem Jessica had is that Korean TV shows and music shows refused to broadcast her. (She's not the first to have that happen...) SM pretty much pressured them not to do so - and at the time SM was the Million Pound Gorilla of Korean entertainment. I love Sica and several of her songs, but there is another factor here - there has been suspicion that Tyler Kwon (her BF who created Coridel for her)'s company actually bought quite a few of those albums. No way to know, unfortunately... he's also accused of propping up Blanc & Eclair. Considering that neither Playback nor Jeff Bernthal received ANY support from Coridel, I'm a little suspicious. Not saying she wasn't popular and talented, but it's hard to know how successful she was the first couple of years post-SNSD.
this should be a lesson to fans that kpop is very fake, and it’s impossible for 9 people to all be bffs/sisters. i’m sure there are still members she talks with and is close with while others don’t talk to her anymore. i’m also sure SM played a hand in turning them against her bc it seemed like they were fine with her business in the beginning

It's such a shame that we can't see her in the korean industry anymore. Seeing everyone starting from SM to other idols ignore her existence when they talk about Snsd is so painful. She doesn't deserve this disrespect.
SM doing everything to make Jessica looks like she didn’t become an SNSD member for like 7 years is funny to me cause she’s literally all over SNSD’s songs and you can still her voice on chorus part especially on Oh! 💀 and notice how without Jessica’s vocal on older songs, it becomes empty?
Isolating her vocals with eight members is so hard without affecting the overall mix, so the most practical solution was to re-record her parts.
Her voice is still there ☠️
@@A-es4ub yeah it’s funny cause they can’t do anything about it cause when they remove it, the song basically becomes empty
@@ic0nrcJessica’s voice is the essence of SNSD-it’s woven into every harmony, background layer, and lead, creating that signature SNSD sound.
Oh and jessica’s voice still echoes in Into the New World at SNSD's last concert, Long Lasting Love. Guess finding someone to match her harmony wasn’t so easy 😂
As a seasoned Sone, this was the most devastating experience I had faced
What bugged me was, after 2014 GG barely had any comebacks and they all did solo so I don’t understand why you gotta kick her out
Bottom line is some of the members got jealous / petty / had a change of heart, and used Jessica's brand (conflict of interest) as an excuse to oust her from the group
They insinuated that Jessica did not care about the group anymore
Some of the members' parents got involved as well and SME was pushed into a corner at that time
Which was completely unjustified as Jessica never missed any official SNSD activities whereas other members outright missed scheduled activities due to acting etc (evidence is in SoShi's calendar)
Even the worst Jessica possibly ever did was turning up for rehearsals late due to her own activities but she at least still attended.
Antis often remark that Jessica should have waited till 2016 to start her brand but I honestly don't see an issue if she sought permission multiple times from the company, clarified with them, all members were initially ok with it, provided she could handle all of it (which she did prove that she could co-ordinate and balance both)
And SME even getting their share of profits from Jessica's fashion brand too
I guess it all stemmed from the jealousy and insinuations about her heart not being in the right place
Which was really hypocritical as other members missed activities left right centre despite seemingly having less workload
@@zbkvolgren why would parents of grown women be involved bruh. Like I get it culture. But I am brown, and our culture is family oriented too never had these type of issues.
Just seems unnecessary as even with lion heart the promotion period was short.
They just ruined it for us
@@CatCatCaat don't take my word for this but my guess is that since the maknae line ('90 and '91 liners) debuted when they were still minors (under 18), naturally the parents would be involved in contract negotiations back then.
And they were probably also involved during contract renewal in 2014.
One of the '90s came from a chaebol family so yeah that'd explain the above
to be more specific the parents were probably mad that their children couldn't have the same "opportunities" and "benefits - i.e. SME allegedly favouring certain members over others", "their own share of profits from their own work", as compared to other members in the group, so they cornered SME.
@ you make sense and it’s so stupid, none of them started a fashion business but still went solo anyways. Such a terrible thing to do
@@CatCatCaatif u check Kpop news all the time, u would know idols' parents deeply involved their children's career(idols rely on their parents a lot when making any big decision, some of the parents even speak on behalf of their children as well), especially if they join their trainee live at a very young age(they may not fully mentally mature enough to handle anything important).
i have to say this, removing jessica from GG was the biggest mistake everyone concerned making that decision could of made, but they did, and as we have and continue to witness, who shines the brightest, only JESSICA,
Lmao. The delusion. SNSD OT8 continues to thrive till now. Taeyeon literally shines brighter than Jessica in the music industry. Yoona is a major success in the acting wolrd. Yuri as well. Sooyoung and Seohyun has drama after drama and is recognised too. Tiffany isn’t doing too bad after she somehow put her music career into pause getting into acting and tons of variety show. Hyoyeon despite being the least popular member since forever is still doing fine. Sunny is the only one MIA cuz gurl honestly had enough. Jessica is only at the level of seohyun-yuri-Tiffany the least now. She is and will always be below Taeyeon and Yoona for sure.
And in the end Jessica is way more relevant than 6/8 of those snakes
I mean, this is why people still want to know what really went down or was that bad to do her dirty like they did. They treated her like a criminal after her departure. If her brand was actually the reason of all this mess, then the company is extremely petty in a very scary way. Also, to forbid the other members to even acknowledge her is beyond everything. We get it, she was kicked off the group, but why try hard to erase her from the long journey as GG with such an important role? That's stupidly lame, since fans will always remember her and shout her name loud lol.
To be very honest, prior to 09/30.... Jessica was my LEAST FAVORITE member. I found her too overwhelming in music videos and lyric distribution AND always thought she was the least personable member. I gradually started to like her in 2011 but HOWEVER it wasn't after 9/30 that I became a giant Jessica stan (I even bought the book and follow her religiously on social media) because SM and GG's treatment of erasing Jessica from their history despite her overwhelming presence in OT9 evidences was too childish and weird. Her voice LITERALLY helped shape their songs along with Taeyeon. Sidenote: Her friendship with Tiffany as the most popular US born & raised KPop idols of their time was also sad to see disappear and it astounds me when I see all the conspiracy theories about their fallout.
Actually her voice gave their music that magic sound I love it. It was never the same after her departure.
These days the so called "sones" say that the only backbone is Taeyeon, but we all know that it was TaeSica ft. the rest of the vocal line (Sunny, Tiffany, Seohyun) sometimes. I know Taeyeon is an amazing vocalist but why can't they acknowledge the truth?

Since Jessica was one of the main vocalists in SNSD, it is reasonable to assume that SNSD would have never become as big as they did, without her!
Definitely, i'm not trying to downgrade the other 8 but besides Taeyeon and maybe Yoona, Jessica was the most influental member of the group. Even after a decade out of the industry and rarely appearing on camera she still managed to sell 50.000 physical copy on the first day which isn't too shabby at all especially since she comes back once in a full moon lol. Hard to imagine any other member besides Taeyeon who could pull off that number
Which is so crazy because literally the group stopped being AS active less than 3 years after her departure. With a few members also leaving the company themselves. So the fuss, (from an outsider anyway). still seems so puzzling... so much unsaid still lol. We'll obv never TRULY know the full story.. much beyond the fact Taeyeon and her were definitely at odds. After Jessica's departure, I lost interest with SNSD coz I feel like they lost direction.
I would say moreso after 2015. Party and Lionheart were huge hits. Just wish You Think would have gotten more attention.
Jessica was my ult bias during the whole second gen of kpop. When she was kicked out, I actually cried. Not only because my favorite member was no longer part of my favorite girl group, but being a super SM stan, I too felt betrayed by SM. I couldnt understand at the time why such a decision was made and the fact of how little information that was released about the matter made me so frustrated.
Despite all that, im so happy that Jessica was able to reach such feats despite being blacklisted by a highly reputable company. Its also kinda ironic how Jessica was able to reach such high level status in China, but SM has constantly tried to break into the Chinese market, but overall failed in their many attempts to do so. 😂
People forced the situation to be Jessica x SM because of Blanc but SM always seemed supportive of her brand. Her sunglasses were used by the protagonist of a chinese movie SM coproduced, their female artists except for SNSD wore B&E and her collab with Irene Kim (a model that used to be under their subsidiary) was featured on their official website, all of this happened after she was no longer in the company.
Jessica vs the main mastermind and her parents. This is also the reason that even though she no longer has a career in South Korea, Jessica is still experiencing character assassination attempts using media manipulation today.
Ill never let this go. Back then, this ruined kpop for me for many years. The 8 members betrayed her but many sone tried to blame Jessica despite the facts. Most of the members aren't even in sm anymore yet they refuse to reconcile. SM has blacklisted her though as well in behest of those members.
Thank you Jess for teaching me that it doesn’t matter if people you thought loved you and protected you turn their backs on you, one can always find the way to success and happiness❤
I feel terrible for Jessica; she didn't deserved to be kicked out of SNSD because she did nothing wrong, and SNSD wasn't the same without her. It's like she took the heart and soul out of the group when she was forced out. Also, given the NewJeans' recent demand against HYBE despite only being active for 2 years vs Jessica's 8 years, and you realize that times have really changed to have idols making threats against their company without repercussions.
The illusion of the “Soshi bond” was completely shattered on 9/30/2014. No longer could SNSD pretend they had some sort of special bond with each other. The greed and jealousy of the group towards Jessica was laid bare for all to see. If they had been honest with themselves and their fans, they would have disbanded the same year rather than continuing on with the facade like nothing had happened.
I’m glad that Jessica overcame that rough time and has persevered as an artist and businesswoman since then.
True, even Tiffany said a couple years ago in an interview on the US that they were extremely restricted, they would tell them how to act, talk, zero swearing, etc etc.
The fact that all 8 of the other girls remain friends to this day proves that the problem was Jessica, not SNSD

There is a crazy theory answering whether perhaps one of the members' families has the power to suppress SM. If Lee Soo-Man had insisted on keeping his golden child Jessica, perhaps that year a tax evasion scandal would have exploded with Lee Soo-Man as the main character. That would have an impact on the collapse of the agency he built.

Jessica over came everything the same way JYJ was able to, target the markets that wanted her and allowed her to display her talent. If any idols learn anything it's that korea isn't the only place for you.
I did not know that she released her own statement through her fashion company. My question is, if she lied in her statements, she could have been sued by SM. You know how SM is; they're known for suing other people, but until today, they haven't. Instead, they blacklisted her. Hmmm...🤔
As long as you sue, you can learn all the truth about that year. I'm afraid sm won't dare.
Exactly. They didn't sue her, ans this already explains a lot, but stupid ot8 stans think they are holy saints that love each other so much and had no power to want her out of the group
And her statements always same. And snsd members always acknowledge her as honest person when she still in the group..between her and other members, their acting skills are another level. Top notch, yet I don't understand why snsd ot8 fans called her a liar.
SM also WILLINGLY terminated her contract without a fuss a few months after 9/30, while other idols are usually sued by SM
Jessica's removal and treatment thereafter is the reason I could continue being a SONE. She was one of my favorites in my bias line. I just couldn't wrap my head around what happened. It was hard to continue to support them. Their party/youthink/lion heart comeback i didnt fully support honestly
I can not listen "You Think" at all. It seems as if it was dedicated to Jessica and "Catch me if you can" I listen always the version with Jessica.

Jessica always cared for Taeyeon tho, maybe we can’t say they never like each other but they definitely had a fight. I remember the girls had to pick a member to say message to and Jessica picked Taeyeon because she was worried about her health and mental state.
we need them to do a cover of girl so confusing
At least there are many TaengSic and OT9 AI covers out there to satisfy ourselves with in the meantime 😅
I've been into kpop since Gee was released, and have been a S♡NE for a long time and seeing her just being dropped like that killed the entire group, it's sad to say that, but Jessica was indeed a huge part of GG
What are you talking about, SNSD is still at the top of Brand Reputarion every month up till this day in their 17th years. SNSD is not killed, its just their prime has passed and thats okay. Every newer generation will replace the older one. Its a natural circle, since Kpop fandom is mostly youth people. SNSD fans is already old and busy with their adult life. But SNSD is still very strong. Even in the survey of 21 century best GG they are still at the top along with Blackpink.

@@Kevin-cg4gj those 8 snakes is not as disgusting as you. Lol.
Totally killed. It doesn't matter what fans say, their golden era was especially when they were 9. So what being in brand reputation? Blackpink and Twice are now the top GGs and unlike snake generation they would never kick a member out.
@@burniiiiiing hahahahaha lol you dont know what Brand Reputation is?
People keep blaming SM but even in her book she always stated it was the members not SM who had an issue. SNSD at the time was in their peak and for new K-pop Stan’s they were literally the black pink / bts of sm so ofc they choose to kick her out over disbanding or having more members leave. It’s insane what jealousy would do to u
They are hiding behind SM. The irresponsibility of a group of troublemakers has led to such a conflict between SICA and SM.
It doesnt make sense how she was blacklisted though. I doubt any of their members can do that.
@@dennisvillaflor3359 sm have list of artists that are blacklisted cause of leaving on their own accord, it's a sense of pride to sm like they made them successful so they can't use it on their advantage after leaving
Lol because if she didnt mention SNSD, her book will not be selling well. Thanks SNSD for the exposure, she only make noises when she is bringing SNSD. There is no SNSD story left to be told, wondering what she will selling next to make noise. Her songs is not stremed well, Golden Stars liked to yapping and being bitter toward SNSD instead of streaming her songs.
@@zrkxafh she was one of the driving forces to snsd being famous what are you talking about. There’s a reason she is still famous rich and popular,

The saddest bit is that compared to other members jessice didn't really have much solo staff going on. She was great vocalist but taeyeon was always given priority when it came to osts. Sm didn't really pack her schedule like the others had. They could have done a cross over between her and Krystal etc. Given jessica more musical opportunities. An at the end of day Jessica wasn't stupid she knew that eventually she would need something to fall back on. Unlike the other memebrs who had solos, dramas, radio shows etc. Jessica schedule was quite.
The funny thing is that straight after her boot from the group snsd. Snsd took a break and focused on solo activities. You can see from her activity in china that she misses being a singer and singing on stage.
She trained the longest and was in the visual list at one point and was even part of the dance line.
No hate attened on the other members. SM had a lot to do with this situation and could have easily change the outcome had they treated Jessica better
actually, jungsis were supposed to debut as a duo in 2014 following the success of their reality show. They even filmed an mv and were preparing for s2 of Jessica&Krystal but it was delayed after 930 and canceled after Jessica left SM in 2015
saw snsd subreddit has been fuming with this post lol no matter as jessica said, haters still give her attention lmao
They just don't accept ot8 will never be strong as ot9 was, that they are not like sisters and indeed kick Jessica out and that she is way more relevant than 6/8 of the group. Sones are by far the worst fandom in kpop
@@burniiiiiing exactly and this is precisely why they are always shamed by fandoms for having a fake sister personality and even compared to 2NE1 having a real sister-like personality like when Minzy or Bom got out of YG, 2NE1 was supportive of them regardless of the hate and circumstances they experienced versus snsd who quite literally ruined the life of their former member, stayed silent about it and acted like she never existed despite being with them their whole childhood. That's sisterhood for you!
@@kumayuuri2756 Exactly. Unlike snake generation, 2ne1 was never the type to say how strong and amazing their friendship is and look at them now! CL is such an amazing leader for always making sure the four of them stay together, unlike that r4cist that is only close with one member and voted Jessica out for no justifiable reason
That was a difficult time for me too, as I was initially a big Girl's Generation fan and couldn't believe that this could ever happen. This opened my eyes that the KPOP industry is a kind of modern day slavery, anyone who wants to break the game is blacklisted by the powerful entertainment agencies that have the power to do so. But it's not that much different in the whole world of POP.
Yeah. These corporations are way more powerful than people like to believe and thats the point. They want people to look at them as individuals rather than the corporate conglomerates they really are. It's crazy when I see people take up for literal companies ran by several billionaires and not the people that work for them.
@@JuneieBack I cringe when I hear someone say "YG family".
Seeing how min Heejin acts, I am sure there are many people like her at SM so none this is shocking. MHJ is giving us all front row seats to the mindsets running SM
Honestly every "head" from SM is a greedy, power hungry mongrul that wants every last penny for themselves. Meen what's her face is also power hungry just look at what she's trying to do with Ador. You're right SM and it's entire "corporation" are rotten to the core.
@@hueningbahiyyih627 #justiceforminheejin
Not only just how SM works, but overall Korean politics. If you don't play by their rules, you ultimately get punished, let alone you wish to fight back on such policies (which at times to me as a Westerner, are soooo unbelievably unfair). And if you add in the aspect of being a woman, you virtually have no rights or even a voice in Korea. Smh
With that being said, I'm actually very happy Jessica has received her flowers and with the whole MHJ x NJ situation, I hope justice is served and NJ can go back to being active and having fun performing whilst being in such a toxic industry.
Up until now, she's still my inspiration. My dancing have a touch of her gracefulness, my style have her essence of feminity. She makes my youth a worthwhile. She's my forever ult bias.
I have to keep reminding myself that not everything I see online is real as well, in this case especially sing GG was advertised as one of the closest groups too. I'm just confused why none of the members speak up about it now (especially non SM members), surely the NDA doesn't last this long.
There have been multiple hints of acknowledging Sica with GG, like Yuri liking Sica's insta posts, Soofany taking pictures opposite Blanc & Eclare, Yoona's cryptic msg on Soshitamtam that got deleted bc she said something like "Once you're a part of GG, you'll always be GG", Sunny allegedly hinting at her during a radio broadcast (this one's a bit farfetched I'll agree), and Yoona supposedly being seen hanging out with Sica and Krystal at a park in their insta photos, etc.
As long as they have ties to the entertainment industry and SM exists as a company they most likely won't say anything concrete.
SNSD is still a group, regardless of if they're actively promoting or not. The only way we might hear something is if another member cuts ties with the agency and the group and doesn't care about being possibly blacklisted
You would need the remaining 4 members to leave SME first
Since SNSD (the group name and brand) is still managed by them
Only after leaving they can finally freely talk about Jessica in a public setting
@@zbkvolgrenThey don’t discuss her removal because it does not benefit them to. The more they talk about it the worse they will look, because it was the groups collective actions which was the catalyst of Jessica’s removal. The most awful thing about her removal is the lack of direct acknowledgment of Jessica as a person by the group. If an NDA exists it is about not discussing her removal ,not being able to acknowledge Jessica directly and her contribution to the group. To me ,this the most de meaning thing that they have done to her as a group.
5:43 which is true since many SM idols have have wore Blanc products
Some SONEs also claims she was about to get married insulting her but she still has not been married yet
Ice princess. Is truly just a queen. Baddest of them all, the best to ever do it
Idc Im just gonna say it.. the other members felt threatened by Jessica due to her ever-growing height in popularity at that time, endorsements and deals she was getting over the others, then further, starting her own business, pushing her solo activities faster than the others. They were jealous and felt threatened
If I were to guess it probably stemmed from the other members insinuating that Jessica's heart was not with SNSD anymore, she was prioritizing her brand more than group activities etc etc
Which is bs because Jessica over the years has proven she could manage both at the same time
So some members, driven by their bitterness/jealousy got their parents involved and cornered SME at that time to remove her from the group
9/30 gave me a permanent trauma. SNSD made me cautious of stanning new groups because of “friendship” i was young when i became their fan and SNSD main selling point was their sisterhood but i guess it wasnt real at all
The thing about this is that SM was telling that Jessica was busy and couldnt prioritize her SNSD activities, but if you look closely she was never absent from any activities. She was even KCON LA where others were absent
Honestly a way to think about the SNSD situation is similar to the 9muses situation just that SM is much more efficient and has many more resources to make the blacklist and manipulation more effective. Even if the girls did vote for the removal of Jessica(which is something that seems to be consistent). I am under no misgivings that SM had a hand to play in this. As a Stan of SNSD since 2010 it will always be odd looking back. I don’t think any of the ot9 are evil or particularly malicious and I also don’t think that any of them were perfect or did nothing wrong. Issues like these are complicated and even as Jessica says in the book beyond the girls is the company. Anyways STAN SNSD wherever they may be ot9 forever we will follow your stars.
The only member who I could say and confidently too that dislikes Jessica and still can't get over what happened between them is Taeyeon atp it's very obvious most of the members have moved on and had minor interactions with her, went out with her, had hinted about her still being a part of GG no matter what except for Taeyeon she still refuses to acknowledge her and takes a stand against her I can't really judge or criticize her as I don't know what happened between those two particularly but I feel like the rumors that were circulating back when she was removed from the group about Taeyeon voting her out seem to have a bit of truth to them 🤷🏻♂️
TY is a failed leader indeed, but besides Yoona and Seohyun all of them shaded her
which is super sad because they were BFFs at some point... but things change and we don't know what actually happenned...
@@burniiiiiing didn't she like wanted to run away pre-debut or something like that because whe didn't want to be the leader? (not sure about this informaitons, I may be mixing up things in my head)
SM should change the "the oldest shoud be the leader" because Taeyeon was just a few days/months older than the others and she never wanted that position...
@@NathyIsabella Even though we can’t say a definitive stance what really happened, if you look back at TaengSic’s work (post 9/30), there are hidden eggs buried in both works.
@@burniiiiiingNo. Hyoyeon was so against of her getting kicked out of the group, but then later got convinced by other members to vote her out so I think she doesn't have any choice but to vote her out too. Sunny was very sad too and was neutral. Seohyun and Yoona never voted for her to get kicked out.
I still rmbr the day so vividly. I genuinely could not envision SNSD continuing without Jessica back then. But they did, cause they had the fanbase & SM’s backing.
I’m still a SONE but I’m also an avid Sica fan. I’ve loved every single song & album she put out since Fly & watch her yt channel.
I agree with what alot of the comments are saying. It was so stupid & unnecessary to kick her out when 3 members left SM a few years later. Even the comebacks after Sica’s removal was lackluster.
I personally don’t believe they had it out for Sica from the get-go. It was smtg that developed over the years, that eventually exploded in 2014. We will never know the real reason unless one of the 8 is brave enough to reveal it.
IDK why but I found that Jessica's removal from the group is purely due to "jealousy"... 'cause like their claim is that "Jessica's solo business could interfere with her activities in the group." It sounds hypocritical to me 'cause if it's really "interfere" why she was still able to attend many group activities even the last activity before her removal?
Not to mention the other members gave an ultimatum when Jessica had reached like 50% of her business... Isn't that like sabotage? If the other members didn't agree with Jessica's business, why didn't they say so in the beginning? Jessica even asked for their and SM's approval before starting her business...
And the fact that Jessica can still be active with her music while doing business since her removal proves that their claim is not true
THIS! They said she was too focused in her solo business instead of the group just for them to start having solo activities a year later (including one member writing a fashion book and another one opening her own fashion brand and it's name was similar to jessica's). Fast forward to 2022, Jessica prepared an entire collection for b&e while participating in a chinese show, proving she was capable of managing both her brand and her career as a singer.

The blacklisting was so illogical. It's like people in that industry didn't know how to comprehend what was going on so they were like ERRRRRRRRRRR fire her?? I guess there were jealous upper managers who were butt hurt maybe. Very weird.
hiiii, new subscriber here ♡ I read an article written by allkpop recently about all the lies that were spread about her, i'm so sorry for her, she deserved so much better.
Sadly Jessica being the SCAPEGOAT to them!
I think it’s important to recognize that what happened with Jessica and SNSD is still not entirely clear, and both sides may have their own perspectives on how things unfolded. While Jessica has certainly shown resilience in overcoming the challenges she faced, including the blacklist, I do feel like the way SM and some of the members handled the situation seemed a bit unclear or even shady. It’s hard to say for sure what went on behind the scenes, but the lack of transparency left room for a lot of speculation, and that’s where much of the confusion comes from. Ultimately, I hope we can support all the members as they continue on their individual journeys without feeding into unnecessary drama.
I was one of the people who loved the OG snsd and I was happy that they made the 10th anniversary song. It really sad when she was blacklisted.
My ultimate bias, no one idol kpop artist that i love like jessica
De niña nunca fui gran fan de SNSD, mi inmadurez me impedia ver todo el talento y encanto que tenían. No fue hasta que escuche su primer album en japonés que decidí darles una oportunidad y... ¡wow! Me di cuenta de que era un grupo tan legendario que sería muy difícil que algo las derrumbara. Así que... el pasar de la etapa "no me gustan" a "son mis idolas" hizo que me causara un gran shock la noticia de Jessica, no era mi favorita, pero era importante y sentí horrible por no apreciar el OT9 durante más tiempo. Bueno... que iba a saber... pero aún asi, creo que hoy en día todas brillan con luz propia, ahora todas buscan lo que Jessica ha logrado con tanto trabajo, y eso me hace admirarla a ella y a todas las chicas del grupo... las amo tanto ;3;
Love this deep dive. You make such interesting fun videos. I will keep tuning in.
the way i see it: they milked Jessica's talent and saw her attempt at developing a business and being more independent as a threat. because then she would no longer need SME for making money and staying relevant in the entertainment business. of course if she has an "emergency door" (i.e. her business) it's gonna be more difficult to manipulate her and keep her under SME with a shady conttact. Jessica was never my favorite and i still dotn really follow her. but this event was so traumatic for Sones. and it really showed how disgusting SME truly is.
Actually, Jessica (and the members) had just renewed their contract with SM for three years so i don't think they were worried about keeping her. And if they saw her brand as a threat they wouldn't have allowed her to start it.
stop blaming sm alone. snsd was the one that gave her an ultimatum n had a meeting without her, they ruined her career with that selfish move.
She is so strong.
waking up to this in real time when i was in highschool was wild😭 it was a hard time to be a sone :,))
i will never forgive the fans for continuing to support GG like nothing happened and make excuse for them when Jessica made it VERY clear that the 8 were instrumental in the company's decision to push her out. i have never listened to a single song of theirs since she left the group.
SNSD is my favorite group, and you can't never convince me their success was the same after Jess left. She had the it factor, next to Yoona, that very feminine it girl energy... we will never know what happened tho
and you know what after asking sm the seconf time around in September, days or hours after that report broke out that ot9 renewed contract, I think thats where she let her guard down
It's just so unfair how other members had solo schedules too but somehow Jessica's schedule was the problem. Now that I am an adult I just can't help but feel it was all caused due to jealousy and nothing more.
it means the other members dont like to see jessica become more successful than them 😂
I stopped being a fan of GG when they kicked Jessica out.
everytime i remembwr the things that happened to jessica or other former/current sm idols my hate for this company just grows more and more. some of these young kpop stans still dont understand how rotten inside this company is.
Moral of the story: Can't have shit in Korea💀😭
also in 2015 her brand was featured in smtown, she was already out of the company that time so the speculation that sm has a problem with her brand is just wrong as well... in her book she stated that her and the management agreement with the business is very much aligned. tho sm has a very huge part of her blacklisting and not managing the 930 situation well, i really think the members initiated her removal.
This was an incredible video! I never knew what happened after she got kicked out until now. I’m glad she’s still going strong 💪

Amazing! 🥺 Ty for all this info!!! 👏👏👏
I have been SNSD fan since 2008. I was so young and I really amazed by their performance of their debut songs. Jessica Unnie is not my first bias. My first bias was Yuri Unnie. I remember putting her photo as our computer and my dad will scold me since it is a family computer hahaha, not mine alone. Then, I love Sunny Unnie because she is kind of funny and cute. Jessica Unnie never really my favorite until I saw her performed One Year Later with Onew and I was like, this Unnie can sing and I really love her voice. Back then, I am not really familiar with their position in the group, like who the main vocal, who the main dancer or rapper and I only know that Taeyeon Unnie is the leader. Then, I found out she is Krystal sister and I also such a big fan of Krystal starts to like her. When me and my friends do a cover dance of SNSD, I start to take the role of Jessica Unnie. I begin to love her sincerely as a fan. When I found out that she is going to start her own brand (and I also kind of has interest in fashion) I was so happy and I plan to buy whatever she puts in the market (even I am broke as hell hahahaha). And then, the date come. It was a very terrible moment of my life. It was like two days before that, my grandfather passed away and I has no time to check on the news and everything. On that day, my friend told me that someone in SNSD got kicked out and I was so shock. I quickly checked on which member is that and I thought it was just a groundless rumors. When I checked the media website, it turned out to be true that Jessica Unnie was the one who got kicked out. I remember crying so hard that night. For about three days, I barely eat anything and I don't even go to my class. Every day, I keep listening to her songs and also Divine by SNSD.
After that, I no longer see SNSD as the same group anymore. I always thought that they are close like family, but I guess, no matter how long you guys work together, spend time together, there will always a crack that no one able to see. Maybe we already see it and notice it, but we just brush it off. I am not siding with Jessica Unnie and I also not siding with SNSD but what happen to Jessica Unnie is really unfair and I will always support her as a fan, as her Golden Star. I barely pay attention to any of the SNSD Members but I will always support her even with just one view in the youtube.
wow of course it was seungri who asked jessica that stupid question🙄
Jessica is so beautiful ❤❤
Btw, last OT9 performance was SMTOWN 2014, i think a couple of days after KCON 2014
I'm a Hyoyeon biased but I didn't know that she mentioned something that could possibly refer to Jessica. 😭
I know I'm being delulu for this but I hope to see OT9 again. Or at the very least, I hope that Jessica and Hyoyeon makes up. Jess seems to adore Hyo before and Hyo seems open to talk about her and still considers SNSD with 9 members. They were even known as the members who fought a lot (even physically) but makes up after it (with tears lol). I'm almost a solo stan for Hyo but I absolutely love Jessica's voice and missed it when I'm listening to an OT8 song.
If you really pay attention and put in the effort to analyze their actions, you’ll notice they always include her in subtle ways-especially Taeyeon.
According to the original rumors from the fan forum that ended up being correct about most if not everything regarding Jessica’s departure. Hyoyeon was one of the members who initially voted to keep her in the group. It’s been awhile since I read the forum but it went something like this: There were several rounds of voting behind Jessica’s back and in order to remove her from the group, there had to be a clear majority.
Round 1: Taeyeon, Sooyoung & Yuri voted her out. Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yoona voted her in. Sunny & Seohyun were neutral
Round 2: Tiffany & Hyoyeon changed their votes to neutral
Round 3: Tiffany, Hyoyeon & Sunny changed their votes. Yoona voted her to stay and Seohyun stayed neutral the entire time. This may be a bit wrong since it’s been years since I read the voting. So please take it with a grain of salt
I doubt it will ever happen, an OT9 reunion. After that “fiction” book she wrote, SooYoung would be set to “Kill on Sight” mode.
Also, that’s wasn’t Jess Hyo was referring to during the Girls for Rest. She was talking about Tiffany, SeoBaby and Soo.
@@kristi4113 Hyoyeon said Jessica’s name in a livestream fairly recently. She was saying bye and someone in the chat wrote Jessica Jung and she read it and smiled. It’s here on YT. Some people are saying it was by accident. Others on purpose

See SM was ready for her to miss a comeback and prepared for her to fly to the states to do some stuff in regard to her brand she got the approval. SME was fine with her setting up the business because they also got a portion of the money in which Jessica made while under contract. People need to stop blaming SME. They supported her. Even after she was kicked out of the group they kept her under contract and let her out of that contract peacefully without having to go to court. They black listed her because they weren’t going to make money from her or her brand. It sucks but SNSD was wrong for what they did.
I still hate SM. They never offer the same resources. Jessica's resources are scarce. She achieved career success through her own efforts. She deserves it. Sadly, a group of jealous women erased her achievements.
@@Kevin-cg4gj okay. I’m not hating on a company that supported her. Honestly she was their golden child. Like you said SNSD was a group of jealous women

We can already see that. Out of sudden they were out of top 30 or top 100? For Girl Group Brand ranks and when Hyein go to the LV event, only one news outlet were there to cover her story. It is so obvious what will happen to them.
The difference with NewJeans and Jessica however is that Jessica didn’t break the law
I heard once that the parents of the other members, specially Taeyeon's, were annoyed by Jessica's business and were the ones that pushed their daughters to force her out and since Korea is such a confusionist society they didn't want to go against their parents, we probably will never know
