I’d like to see a video about what you would wear as a daily M-F uniform if you could only wear one outfit. I recently did this with my favorite type of dress and now I wear it every day. I have five of them so it’s not like I’m wearing dirty clothes. Bodycon black dress calf length can be hiked up or worn at full length. The twist here is that I generally wear a different cardigan or top over it or jewelry or whatever so it doesn’t feel boring. Obviously you’re not going to wear the same thing every day but maybe a base outfit styled a bunch of different ways would be cool to see. ❤️ great video!

I love seeing how many pieces you have that are 5-10 years old. I'm like that too and have so many items from almost 10 years ago (high school) that I still love and get complements on! In fact I accidentally donated one of my FAVORITE shirts from high school (a boxy black crop top with a giant daisy on it that started very saturated but over the years was really faded and cool looking) and I wanted to cry. My sentimental ass is trying to practice non-attachment, but phew, that stung. I thought about going to the Goodwill and trying to find it but it had been a while before I realized what must've happened to it when it didn't show up in my closet after laundry day :(

I love this content. This is more enjoyable to me than makeup talk. And as a Montrealer living in the US, it makes me so sad to see (most) Americans putting zero effort into their outfits, so it's ao nice and refreshing seeing someone who does. Bisous xo

Loved this! I think it’s a very good idea to dress up for yourself, instead of saving it all for when people other than you and your partner will be around. I’ve been trying to do that more lately. It’s fun to see what you come up with when you’re also making the outfits suit your practical needs for the day.

My husband, who destroys everything because he's so hard on everything, is in awe of my ability to keep my clothes for years and years. I wear pants/skirts and sweaters and some shirts more than once before washing; use cold water; hang dry most things. I found a hole in a Target tank top from at least 3 years ago and I was so sad 😂. My mother in law is happy to mend things for us, so I've kept pieces going from her help, too. I don't love clothes and dress simply (my makeup is where I go a bit wild lol), so I have a few things that I keep forever 💗.

I love your style. I'm huge lover of slouchy silhouettes. I wear mostly flowy dresses and various accessories. I'm a stay at home mother of 4. I deliberately dress up even though no one sees me. It makes me feel good and helps me to be more productive throughout the day.

This is fun - thank you for sharing. I work from home and homeschool my teenagers and like you said about the silk blouse - I DO feel better when I get dressed in something other than jeans and an old t-shirt. Please forgive the inevitable stalker-y aspect of UA-cam when I tell you that Joe, in an apron, cleaning the dining area was a highlight ;-).

Love watching you and your clothes, you always look so well put together. I think the main difference between your wardrobe and mine is that yours all seems to follow one theme, that is you. The colours and silhouettes you choose all work together to form one whole. In my case, I am attracted to so many styles, shapes and colours that my wardrobe always looks like it has at the very least 3 different themes. I try to find pieces that play well with several themes, but I'm learning to accept that I just wouldn't be happy with a capsule wardrobe, I need to be able to express the different aspects of myself (Not to imply that you're not doing that, your different sides just seem to harmonize easier at least visually).

I had to save this to motivational videos folder. My summer classes are online and my tutoring job doesn't resume until late August. Getting my self out the door has been getting harder. Much less my presence has suffered. I've even skipped lipstick because I feel like I'm not dressed up enough to wear it. Thank you for this. I'll bring my more inspirational pieces to the front of my closet so I can pick them instead of my basic tee shirts.

I recently went on a trip to NYC and before we left, my partner and I set a shopping budget. While there, I shopped at COS and Aritzia (as well as Bite Beauty Lab--to make my own bespoke lipsticks! and Glossier), and *stayed well within my budget*!! My decision to shop at those two clothing stores was influenced by your fashion choices, Hannah. I hope you continue to upload these kind of videos, because your combination of editorial shapes with comfort and practicality is inspiring!

I love the outfits! Your thoughts about them are inspiring. I echo the thoughts of almost everyone else when I say I love that your clothes are pieces you’ve had for years- when other youtubers say “this is sooooo old” they often mean they’ve had it for a season or two and I can’t relate to that. I have been wearing dresses to work that I’ve had for 10+ years.

Or something like: how to dress up sweats, how to wear bright colors, how to mix patterns, hoe to wear all black without looking boring, and so on! I am really on par with your aesthetics when it comes to fashion, so I could try to recreate your outfits using what I have!

What an awesome project! I'd love to see more stuff like this. It was such a great "slice of life" peek into your day-to-day, and your style is [chef's kiss]. It's so interesting because I feel like we see you from the shoulders up 99% of the time, and your hair/makeup/earrings tend to give me very high femme vibes. And then, on those occasions when we get to see "the rest" of you, that supremely androgynous editorial energy suddenly appears. I love it.

Love this! I'm all about mixing old and new, taking care of clothing, and finding new ways to wear old favorites for as long as they're still timely and useful. (Currently wearing 15 year old sandals that look almost new after washing them recently.) I need to fill a few holes in my wardrobe, so I'm going to take this inspiration and try to find fewer, nicer, more versatile pieces - particularly good quality fabrics.

Hannah I love these kind of video’s,and I would love to see them more frequently.I love that you also give the information about brands, where you bought it,how old they are,the price.I almost buy all my clothes in second hand stores, because I am on a low budget, but I also love to give clothes a new life, sometimes I change a little on it,sometimes I leave it how it is.And I alwaysenjoy my new second hand clothes, and I think that everybody can look fabulous in second hand clothes, you just wash and iron it.And I don’t find it hard when I tare my clothes by accident because of all my splints and braces I need to wear, and most clothes gets even a third life, because when I clean my clossets with my clothes,my mom like most items, and she wear those, with exception of skirts and dresses,my friends may always look in my boxes if they want something, and all clothes that nobody wants I give them to good charity or donate them to a woman shelter,I also do that with my hobby’s clothes. Most clothes I buy in a second hand store,I wear them multiple years, and that for all those small prices. But I love to have a bigger clothes collection, but I hate all those expensive prices, now I can buy instead of one expensive piece of clothes,I can buy a half wardrobe for the same price, and even in second hand stores they sell expensive brands, and new clothes with the original pricetags on.I also often buy my handbags there.Sometimes I buy new stuff,I always buy new underwear, and I buy sometimes one or two pieces of clothes on sale, like a fabulous coat, that I realy wanted to have, but that are items that I Will wear multiple years. And sometimes my hubby surprises me with new clothes, because of my eds it’s harder to shop, and because of my wheelchair,I can’t fit clothes,in the fittingrooms, because I need help, that’s why my hubby buy me sometimes clothes(he knows exactly what I like),and than I can fit it at home, which is a lot easier for me.Most clothes I wear multiple years because I love the way they look, how they feel, how they fit, with all my splints and braces, and I never bought clothes for just one season, like Some people do,for me that’s a complete waist of clothes, and very bad for the invirement, and also way to expensive, even if I had a huge budget than I also would never buying clothes for just one season.I love more timeless clothes, casual, but sometimes a little fancy, and clothes which not everybody wears, that’s why I love to pimp all my jeans, and jeans clothes, with a worn look, sometimes a little lace,I love pieces and holes in my clothes, putting a little fabric or lace behind,I also love a jeans with a splash of bleach or paint,I just love to give Some clothes my own signature.I have Made years clothes by knitting and crochet things, but I can’t do that anymore, because of my eds,it got to heavy for my hands and shoulders. And that’s why I love second hand clothes so much, with a little change you realy can make it your own piece, that nobody else has the same.I even have clothes older then ten years, and still beautifull, and still wearable ,because it’s timeless. So Hannah I realy would love to see multiple video’s from you based on your clothes, and the accesories because that’s what makes timeless clothes so beautifull, changing and playing with the accesories,I love to do that too.And the pants that you told that was so old,it’s a beautifull pants, timeless, and it still looks fantastic, still looks like a new one,it’s not washed off or something, even the colour is still deep black. And I love to hear that I am not the only one that loves second hand clothes,or other things. It would be so good for the world and the invirement when many people would give second hand stuff,a new life. And ofcourse I don’t buy stuff that’s allready worn off,or washed off.I am always on the hunt for new or newer looking stuff, that I buy for less, and I can wear for years. And clothes which are ripped or tared I use them for cleaning, and my hubby to,for cleaning the car or his bike.Sending you lots of love Hannah, xoxo wendy❤️

    "SO ELEGANT. SO FASHION."
"My secret life of wearing the same thing over & over again is being revealed."
[These quotes were both iconic & relatable, hahahah!!]
I love how such a subtle change of clothing can change how you feel. For example, that silk blouse is just as drapey & comfy as what you'd normally wear, just as easy to put on, but it is merely a transcended version of your go-to 'not trying' look. Wearing your same old outfits made you feel different with a simple accessory or shoe. I've always loved fashion but felt it was too stuffy for my desperate need to be comfortable, but... This video really shows me how effortless it can be to look more put-together.

I'm just now getting down to watching this video as it's been out a little while. Late at night. I see you are a "black enthusiast". I love black too. You have such unusual styles. I have a job where I have to wear a uniform which is black pants and a collared shirt with a logo. I tend to wear black pants all the time but if I am not working, I switch up my shirt. I love colors. You would look so good in some jewel toned tops that match your coloring instead of all black. I get just about all my clothing from consignment and thrift stores now. Some sales may hit me. If I like it, I will buy it if it is a good deal and brings me joy. Just hanging around doesn't inspire one to dress up but it is great to elevate an old favorite. lovely video! I liked seeing your outfits. I would enjoy hearing you talk about the relation of makeup and an outfit. Do you have certain looks for certain outfits? Like, do you every do a more glam makeup look with a more casual outfit? I work in a really casual environment. I am a mom and I work part time in a book store. I am always the most dressed up and usually the only one wearing makeup. But even on the days I am the most casual in my outfit, some times I just get carried away with my makeup! Do you always know what you are going to wear before you put on your makeup? This is the first time I have commented, but I have been binging your videos. Keep up the excellent content, I love putting your video's on in the morning, while I am getting ready. Thank you for the work you put into them!

This was so super fun. I find myself getting more and more casual for work even though I have a lot of nicer work appropriate clothes, but my work is so casual I don't feel incentivized to dress in an elevated way. I should just do something like this to kind of push myself to mix things up and elevate my daily wardrobe.

I loved see how you put outfits together but I have no idea how you make slouchy black look so good! I would like a vampire who gave up. That being said, the way you talk about acquiring your clothes is similar to mine - scattered, specific purchases from over the years that show that you consistently acquired things and then decluttered the stuff that doesn't work for you in order to be left with such special pieces. A lot of your special pieces seem to come from second-hand shopping, but you don't seem to be doing as much of that on your beauty budget - maybe you could do a video talking about consignment shopping on a budget/not becoming a shopping junky while shopping second hand? I often feel like I only have the great wardrobe I have now from continually buying things and decluttering, like a fisherman with a wide net or something. I wish I could be better at shopping in a more pointed way.

    • @corriemcclain7960

I'm a writer, but I hate writing in public. It's like my soul is naked in public. Plus I struggle to concentrate, I have to wait until my kids are in bed to get anything done. I have no idea how people write in public.

    • @HannahLouisePoston

I find that the mild stimulation of being in a coffeeshop environment actually helps me concentrate. Like Sherlock Holmes playing the violin to distract part of his brain and allow the other part to solve the crime.

    • @twentyplumed
      @twentyplumed 5 років тому

@@HannahLouisePoston yes, totally agree with this! If I sit down to write at home and it's super quiet, I can start getting a bit bored and distracted, but somewhere like a coffee shop or library there's the hum and buzz of people around in the background, keeping the distractible part of my brain entertained while I write. Also it's just nice to leave the house occasionally 😂

It's so funny that you posted this after sitting on the footage for months. About the same time, May, I rejiggered my wardrobe with the same concept in mind. I'm a baker--literally a dirty job for which I wear leggings and t-shirts--and on my days off I work out iiiiinn...leggings and workout tanks. So I rarely wore my "real" clothes. I reorganized everything into "black clothes" and "blue clothes" (idk it made sense to me) and since then I've been wearing jewelery almost every day I don't work, light makeup, cute shoes. Maybe still mostly shorts or pants and t-shirts, but I feel more cute when I make a little effort. But I had slipped into old patterns again. Today I'm hitting estate sales for my vintage Etsy business and I ALMOST put on leggings and ratty running shoes (need closed-toe shoes and long pants cuz you never know what you'll find where) but I watched this and put on some green preppy pants instead and big gold earrings. Your inspiration isn't always so direct for me but it was today! Thanks!

    • @HannahLouisePoston

@@HannahLouisePoston Aren't brains weird? It's working for me though. Gray, black & white versus pink, green & navy and I always have an outfit to fit who I am today. It's great. Anyway, thanks for asking about my business. It's Delightfully Modern and I sell mostly mid century homewares with a smattering of other stuff. It's here: etsy.me/2YlBr71. I like your stile of clothing. Very inspired and a bit the way I like to do it
But it isn’t easy to find your way. in the shops . I don,t follow the fashion so clothes to find that hit the box are difficult to find or are very expensive.
Please make more video’s like this. I am from the Netherlands so many brands you mention are not easy to find for me, but doesn’t matter.
