I loved seeing Smidge sleep in the background, so if there's a spot where we might entice Sadie to make the occasional appearance, I would be very happy! :) I would also love to see how your eye manages to stick in a couple of pops of colour. Before you had some purses in the background and to me they served this visual interest purpose, though it could be draped cloth, vases, figurines, paintings, almost anything! Hope unpacking goes smoothly and so excited to see where this new change takes you!

I really liked how the old background rotated through items from time to time. Like the bag on display or the plants. It was always fun to see it change in little ways. Excided to see it as it comes together!

I had an idea for when you're more settled in your space: what about making a little mini makeup collection for an alter ego/fictional character? In the style of your overhead shot videos, I mean. Maybe you pick a character who inspires you or you create your own and tell a story through the makeup they might wear. I haven't been watching your videos for very long but already I've been very intrigued by the storytelling aspect of makeup that comes through in your videos, I thought this might be something fun for you to do :)

I'm glad everything is settling in nicely. Moving is such a magnificent effort on all fronts. We've been in Texas nine months and there are days I still feel 'behind' - happy, but behind. I'd love to see the meta version of this video in a month or so - the "things I wish I hadn't decluttered or HAD decluttered" from my collection before the move.

I really loved your background during the beginnings of your channel because it was so authentic and allowed a glimpse into your complex character. It made it subconsciously obvious that while your channel was about beauty, there was something more to be expected here (and you didn't disappoint). While all the creators I watch really put some thought and personality into their backdrops, there is a blueprint beauty room aesthetic happening that has almost an infomercial studio vibe; I just link it with consumerism and being centered around purchase recommendations. It is challenging to avoid this with a dedicated filming space that is not multi-purpose/essential for everyday life but I am sure you will do some magic with your impeccable taste and whatever you choose to do for your background it will speak of you and your thought process, so I am excited :)
For the background I want to see Hannah. What I mean by that is I would be excited to see the things that you love in the background such as moody colours, greenery, maybe some flowers, patterns and a smidge of maximalism.
Talking about the background decorating ideas , I’d love to see your 🌱 there and/or some of the exquisite lamps/art that you had in LA apartment ✨🌚 in calming cozy messy way !!! I don’t how but I know 💯 % that you know how & you know what I mean !!

It's so funny about the zipper thing, I'm the same way. Back when the Salt palettes originally came out I thought about buying one and the entire reason I didn't is because it seemed like such a trial to have to unzip it every time I wanted to use it lol!! So irrational!
Something that might help is to find a magnetic-closure palette with imagery that's enticing to you. Makeup is also about the experience of application, so indulge in that. Your can also buy an inexpensive palette and decoupage over it for a cheaper, custom look!

In the middle of a short-distance move only a few short months after a cross-country move and this video brings so much comfort. Downsizing this time so the curation aspect is really hitting hard. Going from having roommates in a big home to living in a one bedroom with my partner. Its fun because I love redecorating but there's also a lot of stress over what to do with the excess... we are hoping for a well priced storage unit! 🙏 loved this video as always

Salt NY on the lid will crease… Kiki is really honest about that :-) so, if you decide to put cocoa on the lid, you might want to smudge out a liner or wear your spidery lashes to play it up :-)

Two things: 1) I too have redness and one of the annoying things for me is that i never feel able to throw on a casual red lip. I always feel like it looks silly with my red chin and cheeks and when ever I wear a red lip, it's always with my other redness corrected. Do you feel the same? And 2) so weird, and completely unexpected, but your move has made me feel much more like we are emerging from the pandemic. Symbolic. All the feelings.

What I would love, and what I think would really suit you and your channel, is a simple, curated, purposeful collection. Not just objects for objects sake, but things that have meaning to you or add to the tranquil beauty of the space.
Ive seen plenty of pi terest esque background with random target decor items and fake plants that feel random and like they are just there to take up space. That can look nice, but wouldnt vibe with your channel in my humble opinion.
Also, Im recovering from top surgery I had this morning, and I'm loving having your videos to watch while I relax. Hope you are feeling ok!

I totally relate to what you are saying about opening the salt New York palette feeling like too much. We are back and forth from our home to our travel trailer for the next month for an event. On the weekend when we get to the trailer I am reluctant to open that palette when I have so much else in an open cosmetics bag.

Happy you are at this stage of your move! I always liked unpacking better than packing. Concerning your studio, there are wonderful peel and stick wallpaper. My daughter bought hers from Target when she was redecorating this last fall. I would also love to seem some color and texture. Macramé is popular again and actually so easy. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. 😊

When I first started watching your videos (during the OG no-buy year 😳) I was particularly drawn to you because you had books in the background of the videos! I've been working from home for the last 2 years, and my favourite background in virtual meetings is from a coworker who has plants filling her entire wall. It's so easy on the eye, and makes me feel relaxed.

Happy to hear a mention of the project. I took it January ‘21. I was going through some difficult personal and professional work at the time and I didn’t immerse myself fully. However, I do find myself saying the meditations regularly and they help most situations. 💜
